8. How Am I Here?!

I opened my eyes to see everything around me changed. I was lying on a small bed opposite me was another bed. It was a small cave-like room with walls decorated with ancient statues.

Despite these ancient statues, the room is pleasant as everything was arranged neatly.

I observed the whole room, what could have happened to me this time? What did the monster do to me this time?

I adjusted myself to sit in the right position but my back aches painfully, I guess I'm not yet healed to have felt such pain.

I tried to stand up but seemed my legs were tied to the bed, I recalled the last incident, "Omg!!! Did I lose my spinal cord? No way!" My body froze on my thoughts and fear gripped my heart.

  "Help!!!" I shouted at the top of my voice.

Then immediately, an old man rushed in like he has been expecting me to shout, his hair was long and greyish with his beards. I became more scared of seeing him appeared in front of me from nowhere!

"You are awake! Are you ok? Hope your body is not hurting you?" His voice softens my terrifying heart, he seems concerned about me.

I stared at him speechless and my fear reduced seeing his concerned expression. 'He means no harm after all.'

"How am I here?" This was all I could say, "No, I mean where is this place?" I said sharply, I guess I know how I got here so I corrected. I just needed to know how I got saved.

That demon left me immediately it saw that falling tree, why not stay to feel this pain she caused me?! Avia, when did she ever feel your pains? I've always been the victim.

The man held my hand and press my shoulder back to rest on the wall, his hands were soft and warm, "Can you lay back? His voice softens, I obeyed without hesitation, my gaze was only fixed on him.

He turned his gaze at me and our eyes interlocked, I can see he has mixed feelings which I can't figure out.

I observed him, he is not too old just the grey hair? I'm used to that, I observe things a lot, which makes me maintain my lane.

He smiled and then winked at me, a smile springs out of my face but my expression was impatient. He seems to have noticed it as he removed his hands off my hands.

The door opened which caught our attention and we both stared at the entrance.

A middle-aged woman entered and greeted us with her head bowed, I wondered why she greets us in such an old fashion way at this modern time? I only stared at her with a blank face because my mind can not comprehend what was happening.

  "She has been treating you for a few months now, so, you can count on her," The old man said.

"She will give you some pain-killer to reduce your pain, just cooperate with her," He said and turned to leave, everything seemed like a drama to me.

How on earth will he say that without giving me a chance to utter a word? Few months? So, I've been here for months?

"I've been treating you for some time now, you can refer to me as Medical Head," The woman said with a smiley face.

"Please, relax and allow me to...."

...I cut in before she could complete her statement, "Please ma'am, I hope you will understand me better, please tell me everything"

"Where is this place?" I needed to know, to be sure I'm not in heaven or somewhere the demon wants me to be.

  "What happened exactly? Please explain to me everything!" I said and my voice fades, she behaved indifferently, with no emotion nor compassion. I guess the doctor gene is running in her veins now.

She started examining me with her hands massaging my body, all her moves were so strange, could she truly be a doctor? Can't she just be merciful to reply rather than oppressing me?

My body couldn't take it any longer, she seemed to be weird, the way she's pressing my body is too odd and unusual to what doctors do...

"What the hell are you doing Ma'am? I didn't call for a massage!" I blurted out all of a sudden.

But still, she looked calm, "Your body is perfectly fine now. I will bring you medicine to enhance your body and some pain-killer" She said then walked towards the entrance like all my curiosities never count.

Suddenly, I felt my body shrinking making me clenched to my chest with my hands.

My family? Dad and Mom are they safe?

I felt something heavy in my heart, my vision became a blur.

Suddenly we heard a noise from the girl's hut.

We were both shocked by the noise but Lima behaved indifferently.

I stood up from her side and rushed to the girl's hut and quickly changed my form to the old man's form knowing well that she has woken up.

She still looks pale and her expression was so scary, but I tried to calm her as I quickly called on Medical Head.

The girl was astonished by her condition and each of her actions asked questions that I cannot tell her right now.

'Oh, girl! I can't answer your questions, cause all your thoughts were playing in my heart'

The medical head came in and I left from there immediately to stay in the next room with an angry wifey who sat with sadden face peeling her nails continuously.

"Wifey, I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have behaved like that back then," I said even though I've been trying to please her since.

  "You transferred your aggression on her. Do you know that!?" I said making a pretentious smiley face yet she behaved indifferently and glared at me speechless.

  "How?" she whispered

'Wow! She spoke!' "Because you refused to see her when she woke up"

"How is she now?" she sniffed avoiding my eye contact.

"I left when medical head arrived, to meet my angry wifey," I said with a witty smile.

"You called me by..... my..... name hubby!" her voice stammered looking up to me.

"I don't mean to wifey, I never knew you will take my simple joke serious"

"Here you go again, Hubby!? Is this what you wish to say to me!?" My arms dropped as I sit quietly beside her,

'I know patience will surely melt your heart'

"I'm so sorry. You can scorn me as much as you can but don't behave like this to me please" I said with a smiley face as I draw her nearer.

They say 'A little sorry can quench a fired soul also a little smile can melt a burning heart. I knew both will work on you wifey'

  "I'm sorry too," she murmured beneath her breath, "I just wish you can grant me this wish."

'Wow! I'm forgiven! wife like her will never keep  grudges after a smiley sorry from her hubby'

I chuckled slightly listening to her murmurs, "I will grant you but....,

...She cut in... "But what hubby?!" her face widened,

"Under one condition,"

She then nods in agreement, "We will have to ask her family first. If they release her then, she is all ours"

"Happy now?!"

She nodded in approval, "I agree with you, I will go see her now" She said shaking off her body from my embrace and left for the girl's room without glancing at me.

She always does this after achieving her aims.
