Prologue - A Peek Into What Once Was

"Aiden! Aiden, no!"

I felt my weight being pulled down towards the harsh, cold ground. A searing pain coursed through my veins.

Why must we suffer?

My wife and I… 

We are scientists ― one of the most skilled ones. Whilst my wife, Elizabeth, always found answers to any questions she had, formulated solutions to any problem she encountered, I was able to create life itself.

My most recent research was a success. I managed to create a humanoid being perfectly. One that could easily resemble a human. However, another institute wanted to take it as theirs.

One thing led to another, and now I found myself lying helplessly, dying within my beloved wife's warm embrace.

Ah… I hate seeing her cry.

If I was given a chance to stop this from ever happening…

I would do so in a heartbeat.
