Neal rolled his eyes when he pulled the car door open. He was free to scold the mafia man now since they were in the parking lot. He stepped inside the car and sulked there.
Meanwhile, Knox just secretly glanced at him through the rearview mirror because the vampire sat at the back seat instead of next to him. Just this small behavior of Neal being childish sometimes was enough to make him smile.
"I headed out and remembered you. I was in the company with Matthew earlier," he said, starting the car engine.
Neal put his gaze outside the window. Suddenly small drops of rain started to fall, wetting the dry and busy road. He didn't even realize that the sky earlier was already gray, gathering rain.
The cold immediately crawled in the atmosphere and he felt it, rubbing his palms together. Knox noticed it, so he adjusted the air condition inside the car. When the red traffic light finally turned on, he turned his head slightly.
