Chapter 27
"what are you going to tell them if they see me like this?" Luna asked Ace while they're on their way back to Luna's parents' house. "we'll see. But don't worry, I'll think of something," Ace said. "how are you feeling right now?" he added. "it still stings, but I feel much better than earlier" Lunas answered.
After a few minutes, they finally arrived at the house. As they entered, they saw Luna's father waiting in the living room. When he saw Luna, he immediately stood up and ran up to her. "are you okay? What happened?" John asked. "we were minding our own business walking in a park when Luna saw a girl being provoked by some guy. Being the brave girl that she is, tried to stop him by beating him up. but the man was too muscular and threw a few punches at her" Ace started. "but I was strong enough to make him unconscious. Ace rushed me to a near clinic to treat my wounds. I'm all good now" Luna finished. "is that so, well, you better get to your room and rest. You can skip dinner tonight" her father said. "Alright. It was nice finally meeting you, uncle Ace" Luna said and teased. Ace tried to hold in his chuckle and coughed. "it was nice to meet you too," he said. Luna bids him goodbye and went to her room.
"you know what's weird?" Adrien said. "what?" Luna asked. "hearing Ace act so kind in front of your father" he continued. Luna chuckled and lays on her bed. She hissed when the bruise on her stomach started to sting again. "just try to get some sleep. Your bruises and swollen muscles should be healed by tomorrow morning" Adrien instructed. "alright. Thank you" Luna said. "what can I say? I need to be prepared if I'm going to have a family with you" Adrien teased. Luna chuckled again and closed her eyes. "you better be prepared. I'm leaving you if you can't take care of our kid" Luna unconsciously blurted out and suddenly fell asleep. Adrien has a wide smile plastered on his face upon hearing what she just said. "Don't worry, love. I'll take care of you and our kids in the future" he whispered.
Tuesday
"tomorrow's the big day!" Kelly yelled through the earpiece. Luna shot her eyes open and sat up. "Wake up!" Kelly yelled even more. Luna groaned. "I'm up. stop yelling, you're going to make me def" Luna complained. "Sure. Anyway, good morning" Kelly greeted. "Good morning" Luna replied and yawned. "good morning cupcake" Adrien greeted as well. "good morning, love" Luna answered. "get ready, I will be picking you in an hour from now" Ace instructed. "what? Why?" Luna asked. Suddenly, someone knocked on her door. "come in" Luna said. The door opened and revealed her father. "hey sweetie. Ace is picking you up today. He offered to tag you along in the mall to buy your wedding dress for tomorrow" her father explained. "Oh. Alright, I'll get ready then" Luna said. With that said, John nodded and walked away as he closes her door. "that's why. Now get your ass up and get ready" Ace demanded, teasing her. "I hear you" Luna teased back.
After a few minutes of prepping up, Luna went downstairs and into the living room to wait for Ace. "why are you dressed up?" Mary asked as she walks into the living room. "Ace is picking me up and we'll be shopping at the mall" Luna answered without looking at her. "and what will you be buying?" Mary asked. "that's your business, why?" Luna bluntly said and looked at her. "and why are you hanging out with Ace?" she asked, dodging Luna's question. "Why? What's wrong with that? Got beef with him?" Luna asked as she stood up and walked in front of Mary. Mary stepped back. "you can be like this to me, but better not ruin the wedding tomorrow and say yes," Mary said and stormed off. "I won't ruin it. I'll burn it into flames along with you" Luna whispered to herself. "sis you harsh" Kelly teased. Luna hummed in agreement and just then, someone rang the doorbell. ���finally" Luna said and opened the door. "you ready?" Ace asked. "Yes, uncle" Luna teased. Ace rolled his eyes and walked ahead of her. Luna closes the door behind her and follows Ace.
"we're not actually going to the mall," Ace said. "of course, we aren't," Luna said. "right. I forgot that you're not as dumb as your boyfriend and Kelly" Ace teased. "hey! Rude." Kelly and Adrien exclaimed at the same time. Luna and Ace laughed at that and continues chit-chatting.
After a few minutes, they finally arrived at the shop. "you'll be meeting the designer" Ace mentioned as they step into the shop. "Ace! It's so nice to finally see you again!" a woman greeted. Luna looked at her closely and quickly recognizes her. "Mrs. Belen?" Luna asked. "hello there, Ms. Christine," Mrs. Belen said. "what?" Luna asked, confused. "before I told you to apply as a designer at her company, I had a talk with her and told her to keep an eye on you" Ace explained. "and I���ve been telling him how great of a designer you are," Mrs. Belen said, making Ace nod in agreement. "this is amazing" Luna exclaimed. "be amazed later. I need you to see your dress right now" Mrs. Belen said and grabs Luna's wrist to pull her into a room. "Mrs. Belen is the one who designed most of your uniforms, Luna" Ace mentioned. "then who designs Adrien's and Kelly's?" Luna asked. "that would be my sister and my husband" Mrs. Belen answered. She then walks towards a small cabinet and stands in front of it. "ready to see your dress, sweetie?" she asked Luna. Luna nodded in excitement. Mrs. Belen opens the cabinet, revealing Luna's wedding dress. Luna's jaw dropped upon seeing the dress. "I designed this last year," she said. "yes. I remember you telling me that the woman who will be wearing the wedding dress that you designed is very lucky for you really liked that design. So, I made another one but personalized it a little for you" Mrs. Belen explained. "and of course, it's bulletproof. And whatever metal you hide underneath the dress will not be detected by a metal detector" Ace explained. "It can also be a different outfit with one pull" Mrs. Belen added. "what do you mean?" Luna asked. To demonstrate, Mrs. Belen pulls the ribbon that was wrapped around the waist area and the dress falls on the ground and reveals a black jumpsuit with different sorts of straps plastered on it. Luna became speechless and just stood there. "you like it?" Ace asked. "I love it!" Luna yelled, feeling too excited. She then covers her mouth when she realized that she just yelled and sounded so girly. Ace and Mrs. Belen laughed. "Let me pack this for you. Wait by the front desk" Mrs. Belen instructed. Ace and Luna did what she said and waited by the front desk. "what are we going to do next?" Luna asked. "we'll be dropping by the "flower shop" to buy your wedding flower bouquet," Ace said. Luna nodded.
Once they got the dress, they headed to the next store. "Bouquet de fleurs" Luna reads the store's name out loud. "French" she added. "yes. Do you know what it says?" Ace asked. "bouquet of flowers" Luna translated. Ace nodded, impressed by her. "Bienvenu!" a French guy greeted as they walk in. "Bonjour, nous sommes ici pour ma commande speciale (hello, we're here for my special order)" Ace spoke in French. "ah oui. Suivez-moi (ah yes. Follow me)" the guy said and walked ahead. Luna and Ace walked into the backroom with the guy leading them. "stay where you are, I'll get your order" he said in his broken English. Luna and Ace did as they were instructed and stood at their spot. After a few minutes, the guy came back holding a bouquet of flowers. "C'est beau (It's beautiful)" Luna said. "oh? Tu parles francais?(oh? You speak french?)" the guys asked. "oui" Luna answered. The guy nodded and demonstrates to her the wedding flower bouquet. "Ce bouquet de fleurs a un petit bouton caché. Avec une presse, il révélera deux armes chargées (This bouquet of flowers has a small button hidden. With one press, it will reveal two loaded guns)" the guy explained and gave a new one to Luna. "je vous remercie (thank you)" Luna said and bowed to him. The guy bowed as well and bid them farewell. "I didn't know you're fluent in French," Ace said, praising her. "It's nothing," Luna said as they enter the car. "is your body in good condition?" Ace asked as he starts the engine. "yeah. The cream worked and healed my wounds overnight. Why?" Luna asked. "you'll be having your ordinary training for a few hours, then I'll drive you back to John's place" Ace explained. "alright," Luna said.
After a few minutes of driving, they finally arrived at the headquarters. Luna went straight to the training room and fell silent when she saw it empty. "where's Adrien and Kelly?" she asked. "sorry, love. Ace told us to rest for today so that we're ready for tomorrow" Adrien said through the earpiece. "it's alright" Luna said but sounded sad. She was about to start her ordinary training when someone suddenly wrapped their arms around her waist. Luna turned her head to see who it was and instantly smiled once she saw. "you liar, I thought it's your rest day?" she exclaimed, happy to see Adrien. "well, I can't miss seeing you, so, I waited for you and tried to pull a prank you. I guess it worked" Adrien teased. "you are such a tease," Luna said as she turned around to face him. "I'll train with you," he said before giving her a kiss and walked towards the shooting area. Luna smiled widely and ran where Adrien is.
After 2 hours straight of training, Ace walks into the training room. "time to leave" he mentioned. Luna looked at him in dismay. "already?" Luna said and pouted. "You need your rest, both of you does," Ace said. "fine," Luna said and gives up acting cute towards Ace. "I'll see you tomorrow?" Adrien said and cupped her face. "I'll see you there" Luna answered and gave him a quick peck before running towards Ace. "Hey! I earn a kiss, not a peck!" Adrien yelled playfully. "Tomorrow!" Luna yelled back, making Adrien fondly laugh.
Ace drove Luna back to John's place and dropped her off. "be ready for the big day" Ace said as he rolled the window of the passenger's seat door. "thank you" Luna said before walking towards the entrance. "how was shopping?" her father asked as she enters the house. Luna was about to answer when she saw Mary seated beside her father. "it was fine" she blankly answered. "May we see your dress?" Mary asked, trying to play nice, but Luna isn't buying it. "be patient. You'll see it tomorrow anyway" Luna said and ran upstairs and into her room. She drops her things on the bed and puts her hands on her hips. "well, tomorrow's the big day" she said to herself.
"Better prepare, Mary. I will burn you and make sure you can never ruin me again," she thought before getting in the bathroom to get ready for bed.
