The wedding

The reflected roof came smiling with chandeliers and dancing flowers in direction of the artificial wind. Green vines wrapped its way through the pillars of the gigantic hotel hall.

Tall tables with twenty to thirty were lined up, peach flowers were set on the center of the tables with plates and spoons on both sides of the tables.

Attendants dressed in gold and black with draped cap on the head, each held tray which contained glasses of wine and fruity mix.

A sent of profuse mixed with lavish and prude could be inhaled within the walls. Inside the pure silk top that crawled on my lower chest, with pleated box that attached it way through on the top, synced with a long skirt with draped petals on the side attached with a fish tail fall piece that guided the design to it finish.

"Hey" my feet paused on it cross to the other path, winding my gaze to the direction of the voice " how have you been?" her straight body came cutting by in my direction. Grabbing two glasses from a passing attendant, stricting her gaze on me with a witty smile.

My mind dizzied on the affluent committee that appeared strange to me, the glowed dresses and extravagant attires were unwelcome exhibition to the forsaken mind. And to think i was once a member of such society that races for status.

"I haven't seem you like six months, what happened?" She asked handing me one of the glasses. "Thanks " I said with a chuckle at the end.

"Six months is quite exaggerated ,don't you think?" I watched as her eyes changed to different positions. It only being two months since we last spoke or got to meet, plus I phoned her several times but was held on busy.

"So why are you here?"

"Is that suppose to be answer?" Her hand guided the glass to rosy dark red lips, her lashes clapped in seconds of the grape wine in touch of her tongue, shoving a hard portion of the wine through the narrow throat. "I thought you weren't going to attend, since.."

"Since she marrying my ex fiance" the smile was all seen by her on my lips, the drops of her hands as I finished her sentence cozed the thoughts of her being the chatty type on occasions suited to her comfort. Her dim sky eyes clocked to her feet, skimming through her polished toes.

"Darling, am so glad you showed up " the clutched of her arms on my body seized me off breathe, squeezing an arm out my body regained freedom and fresh air from a pinch on her side.

"Samantha " I voiced out in catch of her tailor-made dress, the v scoop lace dress tendered out her beautiful chest, stretching in to the sweet sixteen tattoo she had rewarded herself. Flowing to her toes were rose made flowers that laid on it surface, sliding out a fit of her gorgeous leg. Her ears were adored with a sliver earrings which comfort the bracelet on her wrist. No doubt it was off her best design collections.

The envy in my eyes to see how great she looked, her face was the star of the night, her hair done in royal form shrink the little confidence in me of looking outstanding.

"What were you discussing with your ex best friend?" My eyes clipped on Dora who had thrown her eyes on the ongoing performance of the symphony. A part of my heart felt a bashed of her silence and sheep gaze. Was that the reason she stopped calling and refused to pick my calls?, did she held my calls on hold and busy intentionally?. Deep down I was scared, scare of what her reply might be, hoping it was all false, not her anything but her. I didn't want to lose her.

"Didn't she tell you?, she now my bff". How could that be, she had already taken most of what I treasured not Dora. When did we became strangers?.

"You never seize to surprise me, what more will you snatch?"

"I have no clue for now, let just have it as surprise package " she said with a wink. An awkward smile came out as I registered my fingers nose that had flamed in.

"Anyway I just came to congrats you. With an honest heart I wish you through best of what life has to offer, hope you get the happiness you deserve " she rested a kiss on my cheek while I turtle my feet from their presence, recollecting her words and hooked on my best friend's hand, freezing a warm laughter to her jokes which I used to find funny.

There I was with closed lips in watch of my ex and my cousin saying their vows. I could have said something, anything just to get back at her and my so called ex fiance but no, I stayed silenced all through the process. Even the call of the priest for objections to the union was denied by the weak heart that wanted to let go and have them punish themselves in their new married life. The hands joined in harmony along with the congregation in applauds of the new wedded couples.

All her snatch weren't as hurtful as she fid with Dora. She was my best friend ,we'd been through thick and thin together. I was certain she could not have change in such a short period, something was wrong somewhere. Dora wasn't the type that worshipped money nor seek pleasure in fame or status.

"Careful " a smell if Romeo, blissful and mystery hit my nose as I lay closed to the hard chest, I put my thoughts together only to be recognized in the arms of a stranger, his grip on me was that of an unopened jar. Jogging my weight off his grasp, I voted my eyes to the surrounding only to realize he had saved me from a fall to the gutter. A distant memory of the glasses of wine I gulped in minutes of evading their sight, asking me on my feet resulting to a blur of sight.

"Are you alright?." That voice again, this time it was so closed yet do far, the face was here but the memory of him was blurred in past years. Only the perfect memory of him bring the man in the car ringed through, he redeemed me from the damage fee. For minutes I became a list course in his blues eyes, they were a reflection of the ocean that allures its victims into a deep dive of no return. The magnificent puzzles which one would be more than willing to solve.

His jaw groomed in short beards that could prink the sink of his beloved did much good to his looks, yet a crave to unmask the sink beneath stroked the heart . The multiple curiosity of how great he would look without it and again the heart digest the truth of his beauty with the beard.

The pale dry lips crawled it sounds to my ears, creating a wild fantasy of desires in the last mind. For sure a touch on it won't hurt.

"Are you alright?" the repeated question slapped me back to reality, "yes.. um. I'm alright, thanks for the save" a smile came rushing out with a peep to the deep slope gutter that sure would have had me admitted to the hospital.

"Have it check when you reach home"

"Huh?" My eyes followed his lead to my ankle, "ouch" the pain swam in with notice of the bruise on my left ankle. His legs squats, wrapping a white hand clean on the sored ankle and swift his way to the entrance of the venue, leaving me hanging in thoughts of his smooth gestures.

"Hey"

"where have you been?" I asked Linda who seemed to have enjoyed herself , both hands engaged with plastic of bags. "I was taking a shop of the fancy store" by that she meant she was grabbing a collection of dishes she fancied to take home, she planned it hours before leaving.

"So how did it go?, have you met you cousin?"

"I have'' a dull reply came out

"Oh, my poor dear. What happened?" She coaxed her voice with a tap on my shoulder, straining her hand to a reach on my shoulder.

"My best friend is now her best friend " I told with a tight exhale. Her eyes rolled in circles while her mouth squeezed out a tight hiss. " Don't worry about that, it her loss. She would come back but then it will be too late" a part of me hope not, come what may, Dora was a friend I wasn't willing to lose.

"Till then let go home and have thus rich foods " the cheer in her vouched couldn't go unnoticed to the few people close by.

"Miss Alice do you accept?. Just a year be my legal wife".
