After I checked the desktop dark mode, I see what you mean. The mobile dark mode works fine as long as you download and install the app, but for desktop you should definitely try using WebNovel light mode and installing the browser extension Dark Reader. It seems to offer a better dark mode than the current default one in my opinion.

If you are using a browser extension, please try something like Dark Reader. Even then, there is a chance the page will break because it is not something official.
