there were bodyguards, but Adda, for all her gains, is still somewhat damaged. Even in trying to prove herself to aethan, everyone else, and herself, I wanted the lesson of being too trusting or confident to be a haunting lesson to Adda's wider development arc. in this case, she underestimated a man's capacity for violence, his hatred, and how far he was willing to go for even a fleeting bit of satisfaction. in that same breath, she overestimated herself and how well received her efforts were. everything has some kind of consequence. well, i can confirm that the regi's will be caught and will, in fact, be caught sooner rather than later. the plan is for Cobalt to go after two legendary Pokémon after Cerulean City. the first one being the most difficult for him at that point in the story
