Just a Dream

January 4th, 2027

Snowflakes fell off of her long thick blonde hair as bright as the sun, and her skin was becoming paler by the minute. Her breathing was shorted by the running, and her heart was beating so fast and loud every animal in the snow covered forest. The world was starting to spin each time she took a breather. then she fell into pitch black darkness.

Then she was right next to her bedroom door eavesdropping on her Parents and Older sister, Chihiro.

"The sooner we tell her the better it will be." whispered her dad.

"But Hikari will be heart broken Father. I am the only person she trusts besides you guys." Chihiro told her Parents.

"If we won't tell her you're moving soon she won't trust you us anymore." Hikari's mother added

"Ok i gi-" The door slammed open before Hikari's father got to finish his sentence

Hikari came stomping in, and shouted in fury

"WHAT ARE YOU GUYS TALKING ABOUT! WHY ARE YOU GUYS KEEPING SECRETS FROM ME!"

Her Parents and Chihirolooked at her with wide open eyes, and her father glanced at them and her Mother and Chihro nodded.

" Hikari, Chihiro is moving away." her father confessed.

"But why? Please don't go" Hikari pleaded.

" I'm sorry sis but I can go to Yale University, and have the job I have always dreamed of." Chihiro replied eyes sparkling.

"But I trusted you guys to tell me everything and not leave me." Hikari wailed

Hikari stared at all of them in with betrayal and ran out of the room seaming the door shut.

"Hikari WAIT!" her sister shouted.

She ignored her sister that she once trusted and dashed out of the house into the snowy forest.

Her eyes fluttered open to the beautiful evening sunset. She laid on top of the snow alive. As she sat up she noticed there was a white puffy chipmunk with a little pink ribbon around its neck resting on her with nuts and berries near it. It was curled up in a ball on her torso breathing like a new born baby. As she stroked its soft fur it woke up. Its adorable little beady eyes stared at her yellow eyes as bright as the sun. As they watched the sunset together the little chipmunk curled up back into a ball. Hikari took the pink ribbon off of the chipmunk and started to make it into a collar. She looked up at the sky holding the ribbon above her eye like a magnifying glass. Then all of a sudden a, shooting star passed, then dozens came after that one. She held the ribbon in her hand and put both of her hands together.

I wish this was all just a dream, please just let it be a dream. She pleaded to the shooting stars.

Then she heard something move. It placed its hand on her head and whispered

"Sit vota tua vera"

The world was slowly fading away and she fell into a endless void of nothingness.

" Wake up Hikari," Her sister whispered.

Hikari sat up, looking around her surroundings.

I'm not in the forest? She questioned herself. How did this happen?

" Whats today's date?" Hikari asked her sister

"Today is the Fourth Of January." Chihiro replied

What? That was yesterday? What happened? Then it all came back to her, the chipmunk and the shooting stars. She looked at her sister shocked trying to take all of this information in.

" I have some news, I need to tell you." Chihiro told her

" I am going to move, I am sorry I can't be with y-"

"It's ok," Hikari interrupted right before Chihiro finished.

"Really?" Chihiro asked astonished.

"Positive, you have the right to control your own life and future, no one else can do that." Hikari stated.

Chihiro wrapped her in a big hug and whispered,

"Thank you,"

" You are very much welcome," Hikari replied

As they entered the kitchen the TV was playing,

"BREAKING NEWS, <The Model Sumin Jeong (Mrs. Park) was found entering KI headquarters, when she came out she was Dragging the CHRO (Jungwoo Park or Mr. Park) of KI Headquarters by the ear>"

So many odd things happening today Hikari thought.

"We have some big news to tell you guys," her sister sang to her parents.

" What is it ?" they asked in unison.

"I got Yale University!" Hikari's sister sang again.

"What!" the exclaimed they ran and hugged Chihiro

"That's our daughter!"

Then they looked at Hikari, and her father asked

" Are you OK with this?"

" I am perfectly fine," she replied

As her mother wrapped her in a hug she whispered

"Thank you for accepting this Hikari."

Hikari ran back to her room and looked at her hands. Inside it there was a little pink ribbon and

some melted snow. She smiled and looked through her window at the sky.

It wasn't JUST A DREAM.
