Bel took a deep breath at the aroma that filled the room. Mallory really was a great cook. She salivated as she watched Giselle place her food on the table. Davien was late, but he probably had to feed before coming. She could wait for him for a few more minutes.
"His Highness won't be joining you for breakfast today," Giselle announced.
Bel jerked her head up to look at Giselle. "What?" she asked.
"I said—"
"I heard you," Bel interrupted, her gaze darkening. "Why?"
"I heard he has business in the tunnels. I'm sorry, I don't really know the details, but I think it was pretty important."
Bel frowned, wondering if that was why Alexander had come to get Davien the day before, but he hadn't mentioned anything to her. She should have pressed him, but she felt it was something he didn't want to talk about and had decided to let it go. However, to say she was angry was an understatement. He could have told her.
