Devil

Aurav smirked evilly as he looked at the miscellaneous section in the system shop.

-Grenade:20

The boy bought two of them. This was the first time he was purchasing a physical item so,he was curious as to what would happen.

A few seconds after his purchase a rectangular box appeared in front of him. Its color was black. But the odd thing was that it was floating in mid-air.

"Wow…"

"How amazing." Aurav muttered under his breath.

He said to Saira who was standing behind him like a maid:

"Do you see something floating here?"

"Hmm...I don't…" Saira said as she tilted her head cutely. Her bangs hanging beside her.

"What is it?" She asked.

"Nah...it's nothing…" Aurav said not bothering to answer.

"Okay…" Saira didn't inquire anymore. She didn't want to inconvenience him. He would tell her if he wanted to. She was happy as long as he was with her.

Aurav stretched his hand. As soon as he touched the box it disappeared leaving a grenade in his hand.

The other one fell to the ground. He picked it up ignoring Saira who was standing there with a dazed look. She snapped out of it soon and asked:

"What was that!?"

"I don't like it when people ask questions." The boy replied curtly.

"Alright…" Saira replied dejectedly. She wanted him to trust her. She wanted him to know that she wouldn't betray her!

'He'll tell me eventually…' She thought trying to console herself.

Aurav oblivious to the girl's thoughts commanded half of his zombies to be on one side of the track and the other half on the opposite side stationing them at least twenty metres away from the tracks.

The boy looked at the train. It was an old train coloured in green. The kind that runs on fuel.

There was a main carriage in front housing the engine room and six passenger carriages behind it.

'Why only six?'

'I could've gotten more subordinates….'

'Well whatever…'

Ali grabbed held his rifle as he looked out the train. He was wearing military attire with Pak Army written on it. There were only thirty soldiers while the rest were two hundred civilians.

After the appearance of those green skinned devils the communication tools weren't working anymore. They were completely obsolete.

Electricity was unavailable. Backup generators were also not working. Even if they did work how long would they last when the fuel ran out.

He and his comrades were trying to escort these civilians to Lahore. They would be safe there. The soldiers stationed in Lahore must have cleared out the zombie. Yes,they must have.

The reason they were rushing there was because they had lost contact with their base commander situated in Gujrat. They didn't know what to do. They couldn't go into the city due to their limited resources.

'The real reason is everyone's scared and nobody's willing to admit it…'

He clenched his fist as he thought:

'I'm the same…'

He looked at his uniform as he thought:

'I'm a disgrace…'

He heard some muttering and looked beside him. It was his friend Habib. He was reading a book the size of a palm covered in a velvet color.

The writing was in arabic. It was the Holy Quran. The Holy Book of the Muslims. Ninety percent of them couldn't understand Arabic but they could recite it.

There was a slight frown on Ali's face as he turned his head looking out the window again.

"What's that?"

Ali said as he took out his binoculars. As he looked out the window he saw forty lifeless gazes lined up neatly.

'Those lifeless eyes…'he thought as his hands trembled. He still remembered those undying green monsters. They just wouldn't die no matter what he did.

His grip on the rifle tightened. They barely died.

'Get ahold of yourself!' Ali thought as he shook his head.

By now the train was right in front of the zombies. He could clearly see them.

BOOM!

BOOM!

Two explosions rattled the entire train. Ali bumped his head and as he was in the last throes of his consciousness he saw the Holy Book--the message of God-- falling out of those hands and slowly fall on the floor.

Who was going to pick it up now?

..

.

Aurav grinned as he pulled out the safety pins and threw the two grenades on the tracks.

The train passed over it. The first carriage...the second carriage...and then…

BOOM!

BOOM!

The grenades finally exploded. The train shook fiercely as the second carriage fell off the tracks dragging the other carriages along with it. The first and second carriage fell on the ground and the third carriage was piled on it.

The fourth, fifth and sixth fell down sideways as well but the damage was minimal.

Aurav grinned as he saw this. Who doesn't like fireworks?

The entire train looked like a metal worm from a bird's eye view. Wails and shouts of humans resounded throughout the train. Most of them covered in blood, snot and tears.

Aurav was unconcerned with their screams and wails. He smiled as he ran towards the train.

A bloodied soldier was trying to crawl out of a broken window. It was Habib. The boy grinned as he stepped on his head:

"What the fuck are you!?"

"THE DEVIL!"

The soldiers skull caved in with a crack.
