CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE

I spent the next few days with both Jackson and Toby; Jacks began helping me train him in the Garden.

Terrance seemed interested to see what this was all about.

We always stopped before it got out of hand much to Avery’s surprise.

If I was honest with myself, it just felt as if this woman was running around with my mother’s face and was not really the Avery Storm I grew up to love and cherish as a son could cherish their mother. She smiled at me whenever I managed to get myself in and out of trouble so quickly. This woman really did not feel like my mother.. she was a sweet and caring woman not like this cruel, cold bitch that had replaced her.

To me, my mother was dead. And that, truly breaks my heart much more than her cold actions and words that she uses ever could.

If Toby had not asked me to help him learn control and how to fight.. I would have left this shithole of a Town already.
