White Lightning - 12

Gojo POV

Turn 4.

'This guy is cautious. I was hoping he'd attack with his last monster. Guess, he didn't want to risk activating Jaden's face-down cards.' I observed the situation as I drew.

"My Timelord monster's effect activates; since it's my standby phase, it returns to my deck, and my deck shuffles." I took out that card from my duel disk.

'What the hell was that monster for then?' Alexis, Jaden, and Nightshroud all had puzzled looks as they watched my monster disappear. I couldn't use it at all! Effectively it was useless since it was my first turn, and I was expecting to be attacked by a monster.

'Four cards. Since he revealed his Red-Eyes, should I reveal mine?' I contemplated.

'Nawh! Let's go old fashioned, Beat the black with the white. 💀'

[I don't understand.] Dark Magician Girl sounded puzzled after tuning into my thoughts.

[Dragons.] I replied.

'Nightshroud's face-down cards could be something like MST (Mystical Space Typhoon), Call of the Haunted, Mirror Force, Negate Attack, or some Red-Eyes card trap card,' I pondered about the moves I should make. I will use one card to destroy his backlines.

"I play the Harpie's Feather Duster spell card. This lets me destroy all your spells and trap cards," I grinned.

Nightshroud furiously clicked his tongue and played one of the cards face down from his Duel Disk. As the animation of the feather was about to obliterate all of his face-downs, one of the face down revealed itself to be used. But the other one was destroyed as it turned out to be, Call of the haunted.

"I reveal the Scapegoat spell card, allowing me to special summon 4 monster tokens in defense mode," Nightshroud announced.

"Stalling huh? That won't work for long." I laughed.

"I activate the polymerization spell card! And I will be using it to fuse my two Blue-Eyes White Dragons in my hand!" Two Blue-Eyes White Dragons emerged in the field roaring at Nightshroud.

I have 0 cards in my hand.

"Blue-Eyes White Dragon?!" Nightshroud exclaimed in surprise.

Then we watched the two iconic Blue-Eyes White Dragons merging together into a new monster. A fusion monster that was not revealed before. Except for those in the know.

"Where did you get that!? That shouldn't be possible!!" Nightshroud yelled in shock. 'Not just one, but two Blue-eyes white dragons and this fusion monster between two Blue-Eyes? That is unheard of.' he quickly thought of his situation.

"Fuck you, that's how." I laughed at him.

"Whoa..." Jaden and Alexis exclaimed in amazement as they watched the unbelievable display. They had only seen the Blue-Eyes White Dragon in CDs, photos, and video clips before. Now, for the first time, they were witnessing a genuine Blue-Eyes monster in action, and it was about Blue-Eyes fusion monster. The experience was truly awe-inspiring for them. Of course Gojo played it during Jaden's duel that was completely irrelevant as it only showed a weird dragon and not Blue-Eyes white dragon (Dark Magician the Dragon Knight).

"I call forth Blue-Eyes Twin Burst Dragon."

Blue-Eyes Twin Burst Dragon, Level 10, 3000 attack points.

"Blue-Eyes, attack his Hunter Dragon with Twin White Lightning!" I pointed at my opponent's dragon.

The majestic white dragon unleashed a powerful bolt of white lightning that disintegrated the Hunter Dragon. The blast also hit Nightshroud, causing him to stagger and grit his teeth as smoke emanated from his body. He struggled to resist the damage that was coming at him.

Nightshroud's LP dropped to 2700.

"Blue-Eyes, use white lightning again!" I announced his attack once more.

The Blue-Eyes obeyed and launched an attack. This time, the target was one of his tokens. Nightshroud's eyes widened in surprise upon hearing this when he just got back up, but he realized that it was only destroying one of his tokens, to which he sighed with relief.

"Blue-Eyes can attack twice on monsters during each battle phase." I explained.

'No cards in my hands but that is fine. He shouldn't be able to make a comeback.'

"My turn ends." I announced.

"Fine, if you want to play like that. I draw!" Nightshroud gritted his teeth and some of his darkness went into his deck thereby affecting some of the cards. 'I don't have that monster that can beat Blue-Eyes yet.' Nightshroud arm shakes as he struggles to draw his card unknowingly pouring his desperation while believing in his deck.

"I play the spell card, pot of greed. This allows me to draw 2 cards." He smiled as he saw the card he drew.

"Next, I play my own graceful charity." He drew three cards and then discarded two. He discarded Red-Eyes Wyvern and Kidmodo Dragon.

[What is this? Is luck on his side? I didn't expect that from him.] As I observed his cards being played.

"I then activate Kidmodo Dragon's special ability. Since I had sent him to the graveyard. I can special summon a dragon in my hand and meet the Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon!" He yelled. A sinister dark dragon metal dragon emerged, rising from the molten lava, and roared at the Blue-Eyes. In response, the Twin Blue-Eyes dragons roared back, setting the stage for an epic clash.

"I activate Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon's effect. On my turn, I can special summon one dragon monster from my hand or graveyard. And I will be choosing Red-Eyes wyvern from my graveyard in defense mode.

3 tokens and 1 monster in defense. 1 monster in attack position (metal dragon).

"Unfortunately, Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon won't be here for long because I play a spell card, Wingbeat Of Giant Dragon. By returning my Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon to my hand, I can destroy all traps and spells on my opponent's side of the field!" He explained as he activated the spell card.

The dark, sinister dragon vanished swiftly as it had materialized. Then a gust of wind started hitting all of Jaden's face-down cards, disintegrating them. "Oh no," Jaden lamented, covering himself as a gust of wind enveloped him. All of Jaden's face down were revealed to be trap cards with effects that seem to be negating attack.

[I fucking knew it.] I was annoyed.

"And since I had used Kidmodo Dragon's effect, I can't conduct a battle phase, but that doesn't matter! I summon Troop Dragon in defense mode," Nightshroud declared as he made his move. He has four cards left in his hand.

5 fodders in defense mode.

"Your turn." Nightshroud said with a grin.

"Well, I draw!" Jaden with just one card in his hand.

"I activate Pot of Greed! This lets me draw two new cards," Jaden happily declared, drawing two cards and immediately playing one of them.

"You're about to witness some awesome moves with this! I play Polymerization!" Jaden yelled as he played the spell card.

"I'll fuse Elemental Hero Wildheart and my Elemental Hero Bladedge from my hand to summon Elemental Hero Wildedge!" Jaden announced proudly as his fusion monster appeared.

[You see, now this is the kind of bullshit I see whenever people use Pot of Greed here.] I frowned.

[Okay, I'm starting to understand what you mean by one of the most overpowered cards in your world.] Dark Magician Girl chimed in, nodding in agreement.

Wildedge stands tall, with a robust, muscular physique. Its body is predominantly covered in some vibrant yellow armor,

"You see, here is the cool thing about Wildedge, he can attack all your monsters at once, Slice all of Nightshroud's monsters, Wildedge!" He continued.

Wildedge wasted no time and began obliterating every single monster on Nightshroud's field.

"I activate my Troop Dragon's effect when he is destroyed, I can summon another one in his place from my deck! I put him in defense mode." Nightshroud immediately tried defending himself.

"Well, forget about it! I'm wiping that one out too!" Jaden bellowed.

Nightshroud persisted, "And I'll just bring in another one!"

Jaden's response was swift and uncompromising, "And I'm taking that one down too!"

Wildedge was on a monster-killing spree, and it didn't show any signs of stopping that turn. Until there were no monsters on Nightshroud's side of the field.

"How'd you like that? I'm calling it a turn," Jaden grinned and flashed a peace sign in my direction.

"That was okay, that will do." I replied back nonchalantly. 'Was it 300 attacks or 500 attacks for every dragon monster on the graveyard for that stupid darkness dragon?' I groaned at the possibility of him summoning that dragon.

"Oh, no, that won't do." Nightshroud said as he drew his card. A sly smile crept across his face as he eyed it. 'A Darkness Neosphere card, perfect. I can summon him if I play this right and wipe out their strongest monsters with ease,' he schemed in his thoughts. The cards in his hand were Darkness Destroyer, Red Eyes darkness metal dragon, night assailant, and some other monster cards in his hand left.

"I'm setting one monster in defense mode and calling it a turn," Nightshroud announced with a smirk.

"That's it?" Jaden asked in surprise.

"It's no surprise, one of his cards is a Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon card, he can't summon it without banishing a dragon. I can guess that he chose not to summon it, if he did, he would have followed up with defeating you Jaden within that turn but then he would lose to me. You see, when summoning Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, he can summon another dragon from the graveyard or hand with its effect." I explained it to Jaden how he could have lost if Nightshroud chose to summon Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon.

"The scenario would look like this: he would destroy your Wildedge and then attack you with the summoned dragon. Supposedly, if he did, I'd be able to win by taking out both his dragons right after that turn of his. It is not his win if he beats you, he has to beat both of us in order to win. Right now, he can only use tricks to catch us off guard." Shrugging it off.

Jaden was a bit shocked after hearing that, he didn't think he would lose. "No way." he muttered quietly.

Alexis couldn't help but think, 'So, Jaden would have lost if Nightshroud summoned Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon?' Her concern was palpable.

'Yes, just think like that and attack me with your Blue-Eyes then.' Nightshroud schemed silently in his mind.

'Scaring them like this is actually quite fun. Plus, I've still got Clear Winged Kuriboh in my graveyard in case he goes for a direct attack. We would have been fucked if he had two Inferno Fire Blast spells at that moment while he had his normal Red-Eyes Black Dragon out. Well, I guess he only has one. Hahaha.' I chuckled secretly in my thoughts

[That's not funny at all. You guys could have lost.] Dark Magician Girl worriedly commented.

[It's fine. Don't you see how desperate he is, right now? The fact that he pulled off this move suggests he either didn't draw a dragon monster or didn't have any in his hand he could summon. There are no trap cards, or any spell cards he used. He set that monster, ended his turn, while fucking smiling. If I were him, I would be fucking afraid right now. Cause I'm mother fucking Gojo.] I grinned.

"Did you know? You're making it obvious that you're desperate. For me to attack the set monster that probably has a flip effect? I don't know what that shit is, but you just expose yourself!" I drew my card as I said that.

'I did? No. How did he know? Where did I show it was obvious?' Nightshroud thought of the perfect plan he made with the cards he had at his disposal. 'I was going to destroy his Blue-Eyes with this flip effect when he attacks me and then special summon my Darkness Neosphere!'

"Raigeki!" I swiftly used the card, obliterating the set monster.

The revealed monster turned out to be a Night Assailant, and it was destroyed by the lightning's fury.

"No way!" Nightshroud was taken aback by my unexpected card that destroyed his monster.

"No idea what that monster does. But I don't give a damn." I admitted.

"He's wide open!" Jaden and Alexis cheered with excitement.

"Blue-Eyes fuck him up with white lightning and show him what white dragon supremacy is all about!" I roared with excitement.

[Husband... The way you say that is kind of odd,] Dark Magician Girl voiced her concern about my choice of words.

The Blue-Eyes Twin Burst Dragon eagerly obeyed, unleashing white lightning from their mouths and reducing Nightshroud's Life Points to 0. Nightshroud screamed in agony as the piercing white lightning struck him.

However, Nightshroud's agonized roar was cut short as he was overwhelmed by a surge of information, effectively killing his cognitive function.

When his life points hit zero, I dissolved the barrier, the holograms dissipated when I had pressed that button, since the game was officially over. All of us, including Syrus, Chumley, and the previously unknown individual who had been defeated by me, were all glowing and eventually we ended up teleporting outside the volcano.

"Well, chances are he might have been banished to the Shadow Realm. I wonder what that place looks like." I remarked casually.

My shadow game effectively kills the opponent if possible if not their soul is dragged to the shadow realm. Dunno if it's a permanent stay or not.

"What the? What happened guys there was a big barrier!" Syrus asked.

"No, we should be asking how we are outside in the volcano now." Chumley voices his opinion.

"The duel is over." I responded to them effectively answering their questions.

"WOOOO! It feels good to be alive! I never want to experience a shadow game again," Syrus exclaimed, relief evident in his voice.

"I'm heading back home. That guy was a real pain in the ass. Fucking spell cards to inflict damage. I wasn't able to play my deck properly," As I grumbled, still salty about Nightshroud's spell cards, I began to walk away. However, my words seemed to stop Alexis in her tracks.

"Wait, wait," she urgently called out, extremely concerned.

"We need to find Jaden. He could be in trouble," she added, her worry palpable.

I pointed in the direction of where Jaden and the masked man were. They were both sleeping on the ground. Rocky Earthy Ground.

[Do you think he was possessed?] Dark Magician Girl inquired.

[Definitely. Ain't no way we'd have a cringe edge lord like that in this world. That guy was either possessed or just died as a Chuuni. I see he has that academy duel disk. So, he could be a student. Not that I really care, though. Should I burn his body?] I replied nonchalantly.

[Please don't. I feel like we need to investigate. It was also the first time I've seen you take damage from an opponent in a duel,] Dark Magician Girl remarked.

[I know, right? That guy took advantage of me when I was talking to Alexis and Jaden. Speaking of, let's check up on Jaden.] I mused in response.

(Alexis's POV)

"Jaden... He looks exhausted," I sighed, my heart heavy with concern. 'So, that was a Shadow Game... It's terrifying. Who would have thought it would come to a duel to the death, with all that blackmail and threatening?'

"Jaaayyyy, don't do this! Why, whyyyy?" Syrus's dramatic plea filled the air.

"He's going to be okay," I reassured, trying to calm the worried atmosphere.

"Are you guys still goofing around?" Gojo's voice cut through the tension as he approached, his demeanor nonchalant. Without hesitation, he reached for Jaden, seizing him by the collar, and...

Smack. Smack. Smack.

"Ayo, wake the hell up." Gojo scolded, his actions abrupt and meant to wake Jaden from his sleep.

"Why the hell are you sleeping? I should be the one doing that. We only took one hit from Nightshroud. Well, a good hit nonetheless," he added, his tone tinged with annoyance.

I chimed in, surprised, "Wait, Gojo, stop smacking him for a bit. How are you fine?" I asked, scrutinizing Gojo curiously.

"What can I say? I'm the strongest," Gojo replied casually, finally stopping his attempts to wake Jaden by force.

He then pondered aloud, "You think if I punch him in the stomach, he'd actually wake up?"

"No," I swiftly answered, shaking my head in disapproval.

"He's fine if he's sleeping like this after getting smacked by me. He's most likely in deep sleep, recovering from a loss of life energy, or whatever it is called. Perhaps I should put a millennia— Nawh." Gojo mused aloud, throwing the idea of the millennium pedant.

Gojo let go of him and started whistling while surveying the area and then nodded.

"I'm heading back home. Cya. My wife said you can do what you want with that body; apparently, he might be a student at the academy," Gojo stated casually pointing at the shadow rider's duel disk before disappearing in a blink.

After confirming that Jaden was indeed fine, as Gojo had suggested, with the exception of some red marks on his face from the smacking, a collective sigh of relief seemed to wash over those who were here.

Feeling a nagging curiosity, I decided to approach the mysterious shadow rider. Gojo's suggestion that he might be an academy student didn't sit right with me. Yes, he had the academy duel disk, but something about this situation felt off. And what did he mean about doing something to the body? Dispose of him?

A few minutes later.

"Alexiis…" He managed to say before knocking out.

"No way... No way. How? No, why?" Alexis cried out in despair as she clung to her unconscious brother's body. It was a heart-wrenching revelation. The realization that the person she had been looking for all this time was finally here, posing as a shadow rider, shocked and saddened her.

A/N: Do you guys want him dead or alive?
