Jin Jing’s Scheme (1)

Gu Xiao Xiao went to the bathroom with a red face. She changed and washed her face before going downstairs to cook breakfast. After saying bye to Chu Yi Chen, she went to the office.

Chu Yi Chen was going on a business trip and Chu Xiao Xi was nowhere to be found. After a whole busy day at work, people began to leave one by one when it was time to get off. Gu Xiao Xiao, however, remained in her chair and had no plans to leave. Only after 8:30 or so did she slowly stand up and go downstairs.

After she reached the entrance to the condo, Gu Xiao Xiao decided to buy some instant noodles at the supermarket nearby. She went right into the study in the condo and looked over the documents Chu Yi Chen gave her before leaving.

It was a project plan. The general content of it was several upcoming projects Feng Yang will have in the US over the next year. There was also information on a few competitors in the industry and their recent financials over the past three years.

Gu Xiao Xiao has never heard of any of the projects mentioned. However, she didn't think too much about it. After all, Feng Yang Corporation was a giant with thousands of employees for its headquarter alone, excluding its subsidiaries and international operations. It is very normal for there to be projects she is unaware of. The file in her hand documented several important projects for Feng Yang's future. Other than Chu Yi Chen, probably only Xu Ming, the supporting manager, has seen it.

Selflessly dedicating her labor to this project, Gu Xiao Xiao spent the weekend at home, doing her best to complete the task Chu Yi Chen assigned her. By Sunday afternoon, Gu Xiao Xiao finally finished all her work. She then lied on the couch happily, admiring the finished product.

There was a buzz, and then her phone rang. Gu Xiao Xiao looked at her phone. It was a text, from Li Yi Ran.

"Gu Xiao Xiao, I am at the Emperor City Club. If you have the time, come with Chu Xiao Xi. My boyfriend wants to meet you."

The Emperor City Club was one Gu Xiao Xiao knew about because it was one of the properties Feng Yang owns. It's not far from where she lives, and it is a famous high-end entertainment center in City B. The amount of spending required for this place isn't something normal people can handle.

"Chu Xiao Xi isn't here. I am at home alone." Gu Xiao Xiao sat up straight and messaged back.

"I am so bored by myself. I haven't seen you for days. Come here, let your older sister show you some affection."

Li Yi Ran responded really quickly. She even added a message after about the room number.

Gu Xiao Xiao stared at the phone for a while. These years, she was closest with Chu Xiao Xi and Li Yi Ran. Li Yi Ran's boyfriend has always been mysterious to Gu Xiao Xiao and Chu Xiao Xi because they've never met him. Therefore, Gu Xiao Xiao didn't think about it for very long. She changed her clothes and left.

Outside the club, Gu Xiao Xiao wanted to call Li Yi Ran and tell her she has arrived. But a man who was standing by the door walked up to her first.

"Gu Xiao Xiao?" He asked. After Gu Xiao Xiao nodded, he smiled. "I am Li Yi Ran's boyfriend. Let's go, she's inside."

"Ah, okay." Gu Xiao Xiao quickly checked out the guy before her, thinking that Li Yi Ran has pretty good taste and followed him in.

It was her first time coming to a place like this so Gu Xiao Xiao was a little uncomfortable. They went up the stairs and arrived before a certain room. Gu Xiao Xiao could hear much conversation and laughter inside the room. It seemed like a lot of people were inside. She couldn't help but frown.

Without giving Gu Xiao Xiao the time to think, the man beside her pushed her into the room. When Gu Xiao Xiao steadied her feet and studied the room, she realized that Li Yi Ran was nowhere in sight.
