Noah slowly opened his eyes to welcome the new day. The first thing he sensed was that literally every bone in his body must have been broken when he was sleeping. His muscles ached, but the pain reminded him he was alive.
'This is bearable…' The thought passed by his mind.
He vaguely remembered how he woke up before and felt like he was burning. The ache right now was nothing.
"Are you awake, Your Highness?" The person sitting next to the bed asked him.
Noah turned his head to look at the owner of the voice and was secretly happy. But that only lasted for a moment, as his feelings were quickly replaced by the shock.
"Violet…! What happened to you?"
Saying that she looked haggard was an understatement. The usually confident girl with the light smile was now aghast, her face grim with the addition of the dark circles under her eyes. He felt groggy from sleeping too much, but she missed a chance to close her eyes for a little bit.
