“it's block punch, kick, flip, got it?” I repeat
She nods standing in her defence stance waiting for my instruction. She was a natural, 2 weeks into training and she had already mastered the basics of each technique that took me half of my teen years to master.
I was a little jealous, to be honest it also wasn’t easy on the other hand, one mistake with this mask at this point even a drop of water could cause my whole cover to be blown.
“I think you're ready,” I say turning away
“for…”
“to become a spy.”
“What!” she replied running over to me, “ is this a prank, I was told that I was here for self-defence training nothing else.”
“self-defence with backflips and running over buildings.”
“yes..whatever…im not interested, I have another life away from all this strangeness.”
And so that’s when I knew, I had to tell her. And so I did, I explained who she really is. I explained to her about her parents but never went any further than that.
