"Ahww! Ouch!!" The man groaned in pain

"It's for daring to touch her beautiful head with this devil's toy" Nicholas said and open the driver's seat door of Diana's car "get out" he said to Tina

"Huh? Oh..okay sir" she slurred and went over to the other seat

"I can't keep worrying about you unnecessarily like this, I take back what I said earlier, I won't be getting married to you miss Diana " Nicholas said and ignited the car engine them drove off

"Go inside and take a nap, you must've been shocked earlier" Nicholas said as he reached the Maxwell's mansion

"What can I do to make you change your mind?" Diana asked

"Nothing! Absolutely nothing" Nicholas replied

"So you are going to get married to my sister?" She asked angrily

"Yes" Nicholas replied

"And why is that? I have more to offer" Diana said

"She doesn't know about the cellphone and that's a good thing, I won't have to worry about her everytime, this is a very risk matter for real, it's not something you can deal with" Nicholas said

"At least you are worried about me" Diana gave him a cunning smile "that's a good thing" she said and scoffed "you didn't think I would give in and quit just because you said so, did you?" She said in addition "And why did you drop me here? I have my own apartment" Diana said eyeing the Maxwell mansion

"Ohh,I thought you lived here, where do you stay?" Nicholas asked

"Dark-blue estate at vineyard city" Diana said

"Really? I live in crescent estate just across, how come I've not seen you before?" Nicholas thought

"Really? That's good, you can drop me off then" she grinned

"Hmm, does miss Tina stay with you?" He asked

"Of course,Staying along in that apartment can be as boring as hell" Diana replied

"Oh, I see. Let's go" Nicholas said and opened the car door to enter but Arry suddenly popped out of nowhere

"Ohh, Mr Nicholas! You're here? Did you come to see my father? You didn't need to since the family introduction is tomorrow. You'd come right?" Arry asked with a meaningful smile and Nicholas nodded

"Ye..." Before he could finish saying YES, Diana tiptoed and pecked him on the cheek

"Heyy, let's get going already, I'm starving " Diana said to Nicholas with a signatory smile and Nicholas sighed helplessly

"I'd see you later miss Arry, my regards to Mr Maxwell " Nicholas said

"But Diana has a kid, she...." Before she can continue whining, Nicholas had entered the car and drove off

Arry stomped her foot angrily and dragged it inside

"Mom! What did I tell you? I think diana has successfully seduced Nicholas, I saw them kissing and he's even the one driving her around, they look like some old lover who just reunited, what are you going to do now?!" Arry hurled angrily

"Let your father come out of his study, I'm sure he's going to do something about it, you needn't get so worked up over that my dear" Mary said calmly and patted Arry "the old man is going to take care of his daughter himself, don't worry " she said In addition and Arry cooled down

"You didn't need to do that in front of your sister you know, I'm not going to change my mind" Nicholas said as he parked at the garage of dark-blue apartment

"Will you change your mind if I go down on my knees and beg?" She asked solemnly making Nicholas's eyes gleam in surprise

"Are you that desperate?" He asked

"I am more than desperate Mr Nicholas " she said grimly and Nicholas chuckled

"You don't need to call me a mister anymore, it was nice when you called me hey earlier" Nicholas said with a hidden smile

"I'm being serious right now!" Diana said angrily

"I'm not joking either" he gave her an indifferent shrug and Diana respired softly and grabbed the tip of his shirt

"Hey, please help me!" Diana pleaded and Nicholas smiled arrogantly

"Like seriously?" He asked, still surprised at Diana's behavior

"Please I'm begging you " Diana said solemnly and Nicholas sighed helplessly

"Err, Mr Nicholas? Why don't we head upstairs and talk this over, over a drink? I've never seen her so interested in anything in a long time" Tina said cautiously and Nicholas raised eager brows

"You must've worked for her for a very long time" he said

"She's my childhood friend, we grew up together " Tina replied and Nicholas mouthed a 'O'

"So why do you feel I'd agree to her request after hearing you out?" Nicholas asked

"Well, you should at least hear me out" Tina said and Nicholas smiled

"This looks interesting, alright let's go in" Nicholas said and they a thrusted into the elevator

Nicholas glanced at Diana and chuckled

"Being quiet doesn't suit you, why did you suddenly become gentle?" He teased bub got no response from her

"Hey, miss Dian? Are you..."

"Mr Nicholas!" Tina stopped him from disturbing her further "I think you should just leave her be" Tina said with a forced smile and Nicholas nodded in understanding

When they all got into her apartment, Diana just dragged her feet towards the bar and dragged out a wine

"Is she going to drink alone?" Nicholas asked curiously as Diana walked towards the living room cornerside

"Ms. Diana is always like this every once in a while, whenever she's reminded of her mother's death. She might not show it but she adored her mother a lot, Mrs Rosa loved her daughter alot too but her mistake was getting married to Mr Maxwell. You see, she used to be his secretary, a young woman who was trying to make ends meet, she was smart and beautiful, and one day after a company dinner, Mrs Rosa got drunk and had a thing with Mr Maxwell, she had a bad drinking habit you see, then she got pregnant with miss Diana. Mrs Rosa had a fiance at that time but the man denied the pregnancy after finding out Mrs Rosa slept with her boss, so Mr Maxwell just accepted the pregnancy to protect his reputation, he was an interim CEO of a small industry back then so when the real owner came back Mrs Rosa started building up MCB Groups, and in a matter of few years, MCB Groups became what it is today, Mr Maxwell impregnated Mrs Mary and brought her home when miss Diana was only eight years and after Mrs Rosa's miserable death, miss Diana has only lived mysterious, tut!" Tina stopped talking and hissed angrily "it's a miracle she's still sane like this" Tina said grimly, looking towards Diana's direction with pity and mixed emotions "After all these years, she finally decided to go against her father which suprised me a lot because she always wanted a normal life, she didn't want to seek the dangerous path that led to her mother's death, she seemed to be comfortable around you too, she developed androphobia you know" Tina whispered and Nicholas raised eager brows

"Androphobia? How?" He asked and Tina chuckled sadly

"I shouldn't say this but if it is to convince you, miss Diana's stepmother and her daughter would lock her in a room and hire thugs to rape her..."

"What! Was her father aware?" Nicholas eyes dilated in surprise

"Of course, he just feigned ignorance " Tina scoffed

"They would tie her to a chair and feed her with spoilt food so she's irritated by foods that aren't stodge, what is it called again? Err....food sensitivity! That's what Dr. Clara called it " Tina said and Nicholas clenched his fist in anger

"Is her plan only to get married to me and not to revenge? I can help her with anything" Nicholas said solemnly

"Yes she...wait, what!" Tina gasped in surprise
