Chapter 15: When will she grow up

People say the morning light when the sun is rising is the best time of the day. It can bring you happiness and joy or even give you the energy to live through the day. But why is it that even the most beautiful things aren't always enough to heal the human heart?

In the morning, when Uncle Han visited the Anjing dorm, he brought so many gifts. He was very happy to see Anjing's face after a while. He also hoped Anjing would be very happy after seeing the gifts he brought for her. Anjing usually becomes happy after seeing Uncle Han whenever he comes home after a long trip. But he wasn't aware of the fact that Anjing's mood had been ruined by someone before his visit. The things he has been hoping for will not come his way.

After waiting for a few minutes, Anjing's face showed up, which was brimming with gloom, looking towards the earth. Uncle Han felt delighted after seeing Anjing's face, but before he could say anything to her, Anjing quickly sat in the back seat of the car without saying anything. This behavior from Anjing really took him back, but raising Anjing as a child, he got used to her having this behavior. because sometimes, whenever Anjing feels upset, she tends to show this kind of behavior. like ignoring the person in front of her.

When Anjing and Liang Chen were abandoned by their father after their mother's death, the trust Uncle Han was holding for their master faded away. He really can't comprehend how a father leaves his young ones on the roads. Han's wife dies after a few weeks of their marriage. so he never gets a chance to see the faces of his kids. Even after getting two beautiful kids, his master threw them away like garbage. This kind of mindset is something that even some people possess.

He wished to give all the love and protection that those kids should have, and he even did his best. But the kids who have been raised in luxury wouldn't feel disheartened if the luxury they had been used to wasn't offered to them. Just because of that, he didn't give up his butler job at the Fu family because there is no high-paying job apart from a butler at the Fu family with his qualifications. He wants to give Anjing and Liang Chen a good life with a better future. So he even swallowed his anger and stayed in the butler's position, which he hated. because he really loves old Madam Child. and wish to treat them with love and kindness, which they should deserve.

Even though Liang Chen was old enough to be mature at the time of their mother's death, Anjing was still a child, so raising her was a little challenging for Han because she sometimes behaved like a child.

But who would have imagined that after prior preparation, such immature behaviors would reappear in front of Han?

Staring blankly with a blank face, Uncle Han's gaze asked, 'What could have upset her this time?'

He is being treated as if he does not even exist there. His gaze remained focused on Anjing for a while before he sighed, "Children!"

After giving her a moment of rest, he started driving towards the hospital. He is really a pitiful person now. After being forced to go on the trip with the Fu family, madam, he is now neglected by the two children he raised. Usually, he assists Anjing's father on the overseas travels of the company, but this time he had to accompany Anjing's stepmother, which was strange to him. but he had to obey the order because he had no choice but to agree.

Anjing didn't realize when Uncle Han had come for her or when she had sat inside the car that Uncle Han was driving. Her gaze was all focused on the road because of the random thought. Did she greet Uncle Han or not? She does not even know. Is the person driving the car really Uncle Han? She doesn't know that either. There were so many questions running through her mind. What exactly she's going to do after reaching the hospital? What if Yinlan awakens? What will she do if, after waking up, Yinlan asks about Liang Chen? Those thoughts were engulfing her in more and more guilt.

"Uhm, Jinjin!" Uncle Han made an attempt to speak with her after viewing her in the front mirror. Since the time Anjing sat in the car, his eyes were dipping in and out of the mirror, checking on Anjing's mood while driving.

Uncle Han remembers the call that he received in the morning, which was from Liang Chen; the only words he got to hear from him were, "Uncle Han, pick up Anjing from the dorm at eight and give her a ride to the hospital." and then the call got disconnected before Uncle Han even attempted to say OK. That unfilial kid didn't even ask if the trip was safe. that ratchet behavior of that kid I am used to. But why is my sweet little Jinjin, who is not far from an angel, behaving like that kid?

Getting no response from her made him sob in silence as he mumbled, "This must be divine punishment. Both of the children ignored me. But how should I say that I was not willing to go on the trip with your stepmother either? Please give this old man some slack; this is not my age to be ignored by both of my children for something this trivial."

Anjing's vision was getting blurry when something caught her eye. After a while of negligence, Uncle Han eventually heard Anjing's voice calling for him.

"Uncle Han," The waving voice said, after becoming a strong scream, "stop the car for a while."

Uncle Han, astonished by the sudden request, pushed the break at once as he looked to Anjing, asking, "Why did you...?"

But Anjing got out of the car in a hurry before hearing his words. He followed her at once, only to find a shoe store in front of him. A sudden flashback after seeing the store made him smirk, saying, "This kid! All the way, she ignored me but got excited to see the shoe shop again. When will she grow up?"

Since childhood, Anjing has had a habit of collecting shoes because the only thing that makes her excited is shoes. Her mother even spoils her that way. but once she lost her mother, she stopped her habit of collecting shoes. But the main reason she loves shoes is because she loves her mother smiling at her when she wears those pretty shoes. She would not be able to see those content smiles anyway, so why should she continue that habit after her mother's death? Because of that reason, she only buys the shoes when she needs them, not for collection; that means when her old pair of shoes rip out, she only buys new ones.

The reason she is buying new shoes now is because the stunt she pulled last to last night to visit Yinlan made her old shoes rip. That night, after not being able to visit Yinlan while coming back to the hostel dorm, her shoes got stuck and broke while in the struggle for freedom. That is why she had no choice but to buy new ones because those were school dress code shoes. She, while leaving the dorm, didn't realize what she was carrying in a hurry.

After finishing buying her own shoes, Anjing pointed to another one that was very stylish yet comfortable, saying, "I will buy these too." With a content look on her face.
