Bad dream

As she returned to the room where her father was kept, Rina found it reasonable to thank her gods for saving her from the hands of the angry girl. She was no kid to have not understood the reason behind that glare from the girl, as such, she thanked her creator for saving her.

Nevertheless, she could not remove the doctor's face from her mind. He was handsome, yes, and while she hugged him, she felt the warmth that was radiating from his body. She subconsciously sniffed her top while she was walking and then smiled, the strawberry scent still lingered on it and for some reason, she enjoyed it. Thinking about her life, she had never fallen in love with anyone. Not because she wasn't pretty, she was beautiful, had a nice body shape, and she was moderately tall; many men wanted her but she ignored them because she didn't have the time for it — her family comes first in everything so she has no time for pleasure. And that is why she was still single.

But after hugging the doctor, she found herself growing some feelings for him. It was sudden but she knew she had fallen for him. It was so because she found herself envying the other girl.

When she arrived at the doorstep of her father's room, she heaved a sigh and opened the door. Entering inside, she was surprised to see her mother and her two little brothers.

"Mother, what are you three doing here?" She asked them as she walked to them.

Her mother seeing her, felt sad because of how soaked she was. She felt bad that she let her only daughter take over her responsibility as a mother.

"Am I not supposed to be here?" She asked her.

"It's not that, I told you to stay at home and look after your health. See, it's still raining and you came out. Aren't you afraid of falling sick?" Rina replied.

Her daughter was worried about her but the woman didn't like it, it was supposed to be the other way round and not like this. She turned her attention to her husband and tears formed in her eyes. She could not bear to lose her husband yet.

"Mother," Rina said and held her mother's hand. "Father is going to be fine, I will make sure of that."

Hearing her daughter's reassuring tone, the woman wiped her face and forced out a smile.

"It will be fine, I am sure," she said and hugged her daughter. "Come here you two," she said to her two boys and when they came, she hugged all of them.

After some time, Rina checked the time and it was getting late. They needed to return home.

"Mother, let us go back home," she said and the woman agreed, though reluctantly. They left the hospital and boarded a cab back home. After the night's dinner, everyone returned to their rooms.

Rina had her bath and went to bed but she couldn't sleep. She thought about what happened earlier at her workplace and it still pained her that she had lost that job. Among the three jobs she had, that one paid the highest because the madam liked her. It still amazes her that her madam would actually label her as a thief.

It was a painful loss to her. Nevertheless...

"I am just unlucky but who cares? My conscience is clear so I won't cry about it again." After resolving in her mind to forget about what had happened at her workplace, she tried again to sleep and miraculously, it worked.

Falling deep asleep, she saw herself standing behind a man in a suit. The man's figure seemed familiar to her.

"Doctor?" She called and the man turned around with a smile on his face.

"Rina," he called. The way he called her name made her blush, she was so in love with him.

"Doc—" she wanted to say but the handsome man smiled so charmingly that she swallowed her words abruptly. The cuteness was too much for her to handle.

"Remember I said I was going to help you with the finances, right?" He asked her.

"Yes, you are right, doctor," she replied. He told her he was going to help her cover the medical expenses, and that she didn't need to worry herself.

"After that, what next?" He asked her while still smiling.

"What next?" She asked back, not quite understanding his question. Assuming that he was asking about her next step, she replied. "The next thing is to wait and when everything is done, I'll return home with my father."

In the blink of an eye, the doctor's face changed and he became angry. It was as though her answer got him upset and it was it.

"Go back home?" He grunted at her which surprised her. "Do you think I'll give you the money for free?" He asked and began to go close to her. Subconsciously, she began to take some steps backward but unfortunately, there was a wall behind her, and she had nowhere else to run to.

Pressing her to the wall, the doctor grinned evilly and this got her scared because she had never seen him like this before.

"Wh-what do you want?" She asked him, stammering.

"I want your body! I want to eat your flesh, hahaha!" The doctor yelled and opened his mouth. However, his mouth seemed to widen like that of a monster and Rina was doomed.

"Ahhh!" She yelled and everything turned dak. She opened her eyes with another shout following it, and when she looked around, she saw herself in her room. She held her chest and heaved a deep sigh of relief. "That was just a dream," she said, still holding her fast-beating chest.

She rushed down from the bed and went straight to her bathroom. Standing before the water basin, she splashed some water on her face and looked at the mirror. "What kind of bad dream is that?" She asked with a confused look. "Is it trying to tell me something?" She mumbled.

She left the bathroom still confused and wanted to climb into bed again but the fear of the dream being repeated stopped her from doing so, rather, she left her room and went outside for some fresh air.

When she got outside, she surprisingly saw her mom standing there and gazing at the sky, and she knew it was because of their father.

"Mother," she called and approached her from the back.

"Rina," her mom said and turned around. "Why are you still awake?" She asked her.

"Mother, I should be the one asking you that," Rina replied and her mother sighed.

"It's because of your father," the woman said.

"I know but didn't I tell you not to worry about it?" Rina asked her. "The doctor said—" she wanted to tell her mother about what the doctor told her but remembering the dream, she stopped.

"The doctor said what?" Her mother asked her, curious as to what the doctor told her daughter.

"He said father will wake up no matter what," Rina lied.

"Oh, that is good then," her mother said and she nodded her head.

Meanwhile, in another part of the town, stood two young people— A young boy and a girl.

"Did you get the money?" The boy asked the girl.

"Yes, I did. Here," the girl replied and brought out a bundle of paper money. She handed it to the boy who began to count it.

"It's correct," he said and put the money inside his pocket. "Did anyone see you?" He asked her.

"No, not one did," she replied and he smiled.

"Thank you," he said and kissed her on the lips. "I need to rush along now, we will see later," he said and hurried away.
