CHAPTER SIXTY THREE

LOGAN'S POV

Feeling less guilty when mom said those words to me. Since our marriage, we got ambushed in a shootout and Lagan's been in a coma for almost three months and I'm pregnant, with the possibility of remaining with permanent paralysis after birth of my baby.

"So.. remember that always" mom was speaking, but I was so lost in my thoughts that I missed what she was saying.

Embarrassed, I laugh softly, "I must have gotten lost in my bubble for a moment there" I apologised.

Without looking away, "Jamie I have a feeling that Logan will go back in with his father, especially if only to secure yours and your baby's safety" mom, seems worried about my reaction.

Nodding, because I fully understand that it would be unfair for dad to step in to protect us and Logan's not helping him.

"Mom, I understand, I only have one request and Logan will have to fulfil it" my mind already running ahead of me. Would I be able to handle Logan's life being in danger and I'm not there to make sure that he is ok? But most of all, can I trust Angela or Jessica around my husband, which is my biggest fear of all, because it's been at the back of my mind all the time, now suddenly... "would I lose him to someone who can meet his needs?" I spoke softly to myself.

Lifting my eyes, I met my mother-in-law's sad expression, "do you trust Logan?" mom asks, "Jamie?" she prompted me when I didn't answer immediately.

Of course I trust him, I've never had any reason to doubt him, but the situation is different now. Now I'm no longer the woman he married. I'm unable to keep my husband happy, or maybe it's the thought that he might stay with a cripple as my sister said and be unhappy.

When I didn't immediately respond, "earth to Jamie!" mom chuckles, waiting for me to answer her.

Inspite of how I felt, I know that Logan is a honest guy, who only kept the truth away from me once since we met and that was at the photo shoot for his line. Truth be told, I didn't give the hot guy a chance to explain, I simply pushed him into the changing room,

"Yes mom, yes I do trust Logan with all my heart" I told her and all the love I've felt for Logan during the months we quietly dated came flooding back.

Logan returned to the car, sliding into the driver's seat, buckling up, smiling at me, then turning to give his mother the same comforting smile.

He started driving out of the compound and I looked around for Jer and Justin, realizing that they are no where in sight. "Where are the guys?" I asked, as he drives out of the compound.

Squinting his eyes, Logan tips his head, indicating in front of us. Following his gaze, I saw another black SUV in front of us and I immediately froze. Scenes from that horrible day returned and I turned to Logan, paralyse with fear.

Pulling to the curb, "what is it sweetheart?" Logan started caressing my face. Mom, leant across, rubbing my shoulders because she was accustom with my fear of the road since that unfateful day.

"It's fine Jamie, there's nothing to fear. It is just Justin and Jerome in front of us together with Mrs. Stanley" mom soothing words pacifies me, as I close my eyes to relax back.

Before releasing my face, I heard Logan ask, "mom is she going to be okay?". I opened my eyes instantly to meet his piercing blue eyes and I smiled at this gorgeous man, whose face is in front of mines.

Laughing softly, "yes sweetheart, your wife and baby will be fine. Now take us to our new home. I can't wait to continue my new line in peace and quiet" mom leans back in her seat and Logan kisses me quickly, before we continue our drive in silence. I still have to find out what transpired inside the house when Logan went back in to talk to his dad.

We were driving in silence for more than and hour and I was fiddling with my new phone, adding my contacts. I hesitated before adding Jess's, but she is my sister and I do love her. I pray that this tough love situation works for us.

I also sent a message to Judge Delano, informing her that I ended up leaving the house and that Jer and I had to leave Jessica behind. Since I had already signed the document releasing her as a ward of the state, she said that she will take her out before the end of the day and wait for Mr. Daniels to seek guardianship.

That dealt with, I looked out the window, confused, I turned to Logan who was concentrating on the road. Returning to the view around me which is beginning to look totally familiar to me.

"We are going to the cabin" I suddenly squealed in excitement. Turning to face Logan, I see a smile dancing to the corner of his mouth as he continues to stare at the road ahead.

My squeals startled mom, who woke up disoriented, "Jamie, what is it?" she leans forward, scrutinizing my face for any signs of discomfort.

I grinned excitedily at her, "I think we are going to the cabin" I chuckle at the confused expression.

Clearly not having any idea where we are going, "what cabin?" mom asks Logan.

Watching his mom through the rearview mirror, "ask Jamie, I'm simply following the vehicle in front of me" he laughs.

Not waiting for her to question me, "it's my grandfather's cabin by the lake. It's awesome" Looking around at the small town we are passing through.

Realizing that I have no clothes with me, I turned to Logan horrified.

Annoyed, "What now?" he asked.

"I didn't bring any clothes."

Thank you for your support Inspite of the crazy turns Logan and Jamie has been going. I think they are feeling my restlessness with the country that I call home and the brutality against women. Pray for us.

Loves. Please be safe!
