Nowhere is really safe

Looking at the way even such a popular city could be attacked Wang's heart was not relaxed. 

He even has killed a few guys in this residence so this place can not guarantee his safety, he can only hurry to improve his strength. In the evening, when the two were eating in the kitchen the sound of the gate making a huge "bang", was an indication that the gate had been opened.

At the same time, he could hear the sound of horses, the moment the carriage moved into the residence the gates also made another "Bang" sound that confused him, but he still took Ago through the other door in the kitchen.

At night someone breaking through the gate was obviously an enemy. This was his first thought and escape from this place, as he seemed to have been convinced that someone had finally come to settle some scores. In this way, he did not want to waste time and risk his life for any reason. How could Wang play hide and seek with his life, since he felt the place was dangerous? 

This place was also not Ruruo's hometown, but she seemed to have selected it in the beginning for other reasons, but this moment Wang wanted only to escape from the place. Moreover, he was not very confident in the safety of this place at all. The two of them moved some distance and looked for a position that could allow seeing the entire residence clearly.

Other escape routes were dead ends so they could only survive by looking at the place the intruders avoided by taking advantage of it. For Wang, it seemed that it was going to take some time before it was dawn. The moment the figure that had accompanied Ruruo entered she checked all around but nothing seemed to be wrong in the house.

Luoli also approached the kitchen cautiously only to find the flame was not completely out and the food was still left on the kitchen counter, indicating that people were just eating and yet no one could be seen. Moreover, the food was still warm on the plates, so she had to go and inform Ruruo.

In the end, nothing was found, but it seemed that Ruruo had brought back some other lady with her so she did not make big waves about the issue. In the same way, she allowed the woman to take over her room, as she moved to Wang's unoccupied area.

 The next day, sitting among a group of refugees was wang no one could tell how he reached here. Some of the refugees could cast a glance occasionally but then ignored them when they saw the ragged and dirty clothes they lost interest in.

In the morning when Wang was hiding among the beggars at the city gate, he could hear some information, the most important being the fact that some families were attacked by some groups over the past few days and the survivors were very few. 

  "There was a loud noise just in the city, what happened? I thought no one dared to cause trouble in the city?"

In the same way, another person took up the conversation, "Oh...who is it that dared to move in the city... I heard that the third city master likes to torture people. Slowly extracting the bones until only meat is left, I guess there are many masochists in this city."

Another man dressed as an official patrol from the city lord's office spoke of this without a change in expression.

These people were discussing but Wang could be seen observing through the crowds and saw the faces of a few people that looked pale hidden on the street corner seemingly listening to the discussions too.  

"This this, this... interesting, it seems that the city is not as calm as it appears on the surface!" Wang could see them and at the same time he saw some other groups hidden checking out that group, and he found it interesting to watch this show before he can go back home.

After a long time, among the group of pale criminals, someone could not hold on anymore and said, "Let's leave and go back already, I have a feeling staying in this city any longer will only affect the general plans when others discover our existence and cast their eyes in this direction." Others followed his gaze only to realize that their pale faces seemed to attract some people to look in their direction which was not good at all.

"Hurry up, we have to disperse and disguise ourselves when he leaves this place." One of the men said this as he trotted away and when Wang saw this he was lamenting internally about the fact that guy lacked some background theme song as he moved away.

After the two groups started to run and chase each other, Wang lost interest and shifted his gaze to another direction.

At the same time, Wang also heard another interesting piece of news, that the Xin family had been destroyed the night before and the loud roar that appeared in the city was one of the people involved. The Xin family is said to have influence and even control some of the richest businesses around. 

But the news did not seem to cause many waves as from the people's expressions it seemed this kind of thing is normal and this made him very alert. If a family like this can be destroyed overnight what could make someone like him have an illusion he was safe?

As he thought about this, his face become even more serious, he seemed to understand that in this world probably human life is not taken seriously, especially when one has no background to speak of a all.  In a way, a strong family could be destroyed this indeed had an impact on Wang as the families had several people on the level of grandmasters and he could from time think of the object he obtained from that woman he killed. 

But thankfully he did not keep it to himself, and since he did not have any interactions or even connections with someone from the family he remained indifferent.

Unlike those that have some stakes in the Xin family or friendships panicking, he was not bothered much about them. He mostly worried about his life first and foremost. 

When Wang and Ago moved from the beggars and headed towards the residence no one seemed to even bother with the two of them which surprised him.

Walking along the streets the discussions seemed to have changed from the family that had just been eradicated to something else and thus he did not even bother with this. Moved until he reached the gate he could see that it was not damaged at all. After entry, they could see a carriage in the compound, but Wang did not care about it at all. His attention was on the woman practicing in the distance and the weapon she was using seemed to be something he has never seen.

When he and Ago separated, each had the intention of cleaning up, the woman in the distance seemed to have seen them and did not pay extra attention.

In the room where Ruruo was sitting cross-legged practicing a woman appeared and seemed to have passed on a message to her, she had some surprise on her face. Especially when she heard that the two came back dressed like beggars, which obviously indicates that they have been outside causing trouble. But she seemed to have forgotten she had given away this room, and after the woman left, Ruruo stopped practicing with her left hand supporting her chin as though lost in thought.

Hearing the sound of footsteps from the outside, she seemed to remember something and her face seemed more flustered. At this time did she remember that she had taken over the room she gave him, and this would be embarrassing to watch? In the end, she didn't even know how to react at all. But Wang on the other hand seemed to be lost in thought unaware of Ruruo's thoughts.

Hearing the sound of footsteps she hurriedly jumped out the window before Wang arrived and he did indeed suspect to have heard some movement but there being nothing of value in the room, he did not panic at all. In the end, he collected a change of clothes and before leaving seemed to think of something locking the window.

But to Ruruo that was hidden on the outside, this was somehow embarrassing since she has just used the window to escape and even locked out. More than just that, she was wondering how she could inform Wang she had occupied this room.

Wang knew something was suspicious but did not bother to try finding out at the time since he really did not want to be seen by Ruruo like this or she might keep making fun of him the entire time they met.

But Ruruo was not lucky enough as she might have been seen by someone, who seemed to not reveal themselves.
