Seeing beyond the forest

He could retreat but that would just waste time and this was the tallest tree nearby so how could he be willing to spend more time looking for others that would allow him to accomplish his goal, that was just checking out the topography of this place.

With his fist clenched he swung his fist forward, just like he did under the pool when he was training, and this resulted in vibration of the air before him, as the hand moved fast, striking the snake's scales before it could retaliate. It was as though his hands had disappeared from sight due to how fast they were travelling.

The snake received the double attacks, and its scales burst resulting in pain, it continued spitting out its tongue as it retreated, and Situ did not stop it until it was completely gone did, he spit out blood. It seemed like he had also been injured, but he managed to hold it in.

Looking up the tree, he pulled himself together and jumped up the branches until he reached the top, standing there he could see further, way beyond even the stone cave he had been in, a huge water surface resembling a lake could be seen.

But just looking at it, he felt fear, and did not know where it came from, but that was not important, standing on the edge of the tree he almost fell and had to close his eyes before that feeling started to away. Shifting his head, he looked into another direction and though it was far off, he could see a towering structure that resembled a pagoda.

Due to the distance, he was not sure if he was seeing correctly, but he was certain that was indeed a place with some civilization but reaching there would not be easy. "I guess this journey can be used as a chance to improve my combat awareness and Xiaohe improving her realm. Life and death crisis, can indeed push human potential to the next level."

He kept analyzing all this as he rested on some branch, but he still retained his alertness. The reason he wanted to go to a human settlement is very easy, they had tried to go back home and discovered their homes did not exist. Not just him, but all the other kids he fought told him the same thing and he came to conclusion things were way more complicated and he had to play by some rules, just as he had realized about the aspect of strengthening themselves that no one told them.

If he was not wrong, the rules they were not told were based on the fact that they had to keep rising, in strength and that could be accomplishing by leveling up in different areas, as the area they were put in had a certain limit to the benefits it could offer them. So as such, he was willing to go forward, and play the game considering he was not even with the ability to change the rules of the game.

Other than that, he already had some thoughts that something was not right with this world from the moment he was born, due to the gloomy atmosphere covering the whole world. To this day, he could feel it better than others, and thus did not try to bring himself trouble. He could only put his thoughts deep in his heart, as he tried to strengthen himself.

"For the moment, breaking into the 7th martial rank is not key as it would happen naturally with the transformation of inner Qi but the most important is to learn how to completely control my strength. And this was true, they understood a lot of things that humans did not since they were a young civilization, even to now, the existing martial arts, would only be exchanged among the strongest individuals while the weaker ones, had to strive for themselves only those that were lucky enough to gain some opportunities could improve faster, and even allow their martial arts to rise fast.

In the end, this system was indeed very unfriendly, but those that managed to rise to the ranks in cultivation were all geniuses and could not be underestimated. It was also the intention of the human ancestors that the method would eventually allow for birth of super geniuses that would be able to go beyond just wat exists, rather create their own path.

The other reason is that unlike those in the stary skies, those with lower cultivations could not survive and even more stressful was that humans regardless of how strong they have gotten realized the environment in the stary skies did not allow for their descendants to be born. In that case, those that wanted to have descendants could only be send to the miniature worlds set up in special locations in space, allowing for humans to reproduce.

The system has also been set up in a way that the strong have to leave after their children reach a certain age, and left alone to take the path of cultivation, and parents could do everything to try and help their children but, in the end, they could not expose the path they had taken to them or they are cutting their future path.

The system was set in a way that makes sure that no one can exploit if for their children to gain benefits, as the attempt to exploit it would only lead to cutting of a child's future path, and the ones that created this system obviously set up the rules in the miniature worlds that make it very hard for anyone to exploit them.

This was all out of Situ's knowledge, as much as he had his own guesses about things, they were way far off from the situation he was in.
