Chapter 30: Minestomper in the house.

''All praise Princess Dyamaetreia!"

"I will follow you to the End of the World, Blessed Princess!!''

The Barracks exploded with zeal and enthousiasm when Dya entered the room with her giant plate.

She paid no heed to the screaming men who were now almost crying tears of joy to be in the presence of her Royal Majesty.

I had more interest in the pizza that she was carrying. It was stacked to the max with a wide range of ingredients and it smelled like Heaven.

It was almost like the pizza was in a life or death struggle with the Princess for the title of most appetizing presence in the room.

Dya walked over to the spot where I was sitting and lifted the pizza over my head to place it on the table.

When she put down the pizza, she rubbed her breasts against my back.

The feeling was absolute bliss and I had to fight the urge not to put the lewd thoughts in my mind to practice.

I appeared that I was not the only one with carnal thoughts, as some where in the room someone was murmuring audibly:

''Hey, what gives?''

''Lucky guy...''

''Man, I wish that were me.''

''Imagine the smell, am I right??''

The Princess sat down and ignored the rumouring masses.

Valaea was getting a bit nervous and looked over at us. The table was visibly shaking, although neither of the three of us were moving. Slaido, however, was not having it.

He gestured to us to move our dinner to the side. After we did he climbed on the table, stomping the table with his heavy leather boots.

In his hand he had my wanted poster and unfolded it in full view and took a deep breath. All the people in the room looked at him in anticipation.

He pulled his shirt over his head, revealing the enormous scar on his torso, and read the paper out loud.

''WANTED DEAD ONLY

HEIRONYMOS NIKOLAEOS DOLOVIO.

REWARD: 1.150 KOREES FOR ASSAULTING AND GRIEVOUSLY WOUNDING PRINCE AND FIRST IN LINE OF THE UNDERDEEP EMPIRE:

LORD GEOR DENDER, AND THE CALLOUS AND VIOLENT MURDER OF LORD DENDER'S CLOSE FRIEND AND PERSONAL CONFIDANT AEDREI!''

The whole room was now silent.

Feeling confident in his current position, Slaido continued his loud and boisterous speech.

Dunno handed him a sheathed sword, which looked more like a piece of rail with a handle. When he unsheathed it slowly, it looked like it grew longer and longer.

I looked at him in amazement. He was able to wield such an enormous weapon. He was much more muscular than he appeared to be this morning.

His Red eyes were burning with like a raging inferno. He pointed his enormous sword at me, making the metal blade look even longer from my point of view.

''HEIRO OVER HERE HAS DEFENDED THE PRINCESS WITH HIS OWN LIFE AND HE IS PART OF THE ROYAL FAMILY!

HE HAS ACCEPTED YOU BLOODIED AND CRIPPLED WITHOUT ANY SECOND THOUGHTS!

AND IF THE PRINCESS HAS FAITH IN HIM, THEN I WILL HAVE FAITH IN HIM AS WELL!''

Slaido was now done with screaming at the soldiers in the hall, who were now in utter shock.

I was glowing red right now and wanted to slip out of the room in silence.

The silence was now broken by the clamouring and cheering of the men in the room. Dunno and Kadeiva were laughing out loud.

Valaea was doing her best to get Slaido of the table so we could eat the pizza.

After Slaido had refound his composure and put his shirt back on, Valaea stood up with a blushing face. Her long Red hair was in a pony tail and she did her best to stay calm.

''Although I have understanding for Slaido's.. outburst. I have to tell you all that it is not proper to climb on the table during dinner.

It is very unhygenic and if you feel the need to do so, please take off your boots first.

Thank you, I hope you can enjoy your pizza.''

Slaido pulled her down on her chair and looked at her with a sour face. Valaea stuck out her tongue at him and ate her pizza.

She had a pizza with a wide assortiment of vegetables, cheese and thick cream.

Slaido's pizza was mostly meat; spiced sausage, smoked ham and cubed bacon with an egg and cheese to top it off.

Valaea looked at his pizza, sliced her own in half and switched her half with half of his. Slaido was not amused by this, but took it in stride.

The pizza that Dya had made was much more balanced in composition; a cream base with sausage, onions, bell peppers, potatoes and a lot more.

I was digging in before I was able to figure it all out. Dya had taken a slice for herself.

Dunno and Kadeiva looked in horror as the giant pizza was being devoured by the two of us. Dunno had a pizza with chicken, tropical fruits and cheese.

Kadeiva's pizza was stacked with multiple sorts of cheeses and red onions.

Slaido and Valaea were mostly busy with their own food, as Slaido kept putting his pieces of grilled eggplant on Valaea's pizza while stealing pieces of meat from hers.

Valaea did not really mind this though, although it really undermined the purpose of switching around the slices.

When the pizza was completely wolfed down, Dya left for the kitchen to get us something to wash it down with.

When she passes me she squeezed my shoulder firmly. And the soldiers looked at me with a jealous look in their eyes.

I simply smiled at them and asked Slaido to give me my wanted poster.

He did what I asked of him and I looked at it intently. The Poster still looked the same, although the bounty was much higher. It gave me a feeling of discomfort.

Not because of the prize on my head, but because I could not understand how the Underdeep Empire knew that I had murdered the boy when there were no witnesses.

Valaea was stabbing at Slaido's hand with a fork when he stole a big piece of sausage from her plate. I distracted their quarrel by asking how they knew what I had done.

Dunno answered for them, as he was now pretty much done with his pizza and appeared to be very knowledgeable for someone who forgot his own name.

''Did you check his pockets after the fight, Heiro?

Had you done so, you would have found a small crab there. These little things are connected to a central hivemind that relays information for the Underdeep Empire.

This is a very new development for them, and it allows them to coordinate over large distances.''

This information was unsettling.

Not only was the Underdeep Armed Forces capable of fighting dirty, they also had advanced forms of communication that the Dolovian Kingdom did not have.

I sighed and put away the poster.

Dya came back from the kitchen with one caraf filled with pink wine and the other was filled with water. With care she poured me a glass of wine.

I started drinking this afternoon, so there was no reason to stop now.
