I Like You

𝐄𝐕𝐄 𝐏𝐎𝐕

Waking up to the sun on my face was refreshing and beautiful. I haven't woken up from a peaceful sleep in a long time, it made me realize how much bondage I was in living with Jordan. But like Hassan had said last night, he's not here and I had to enjoy this time away from him with my sister. Speaking of Jhene, I should check up on her. I turned around in bed and looked at the time on the nightstand, it was ten going on eleven. I got up from the bed and stretched my arms as I headed towards the bathroom. I turned on the water in the shower and brushed my teeth while I waited for the water to get warm in the meantime. It felt so nice having to live in a nice place with a good family who I wasn't related to taking care of me and my sister so kindly.

As I got in the shower there was only one person on my mind and that was Hassan. I wondered what he had planned today? All it took was one day for me to meet a handsome man and am already falling for him. It wasn't just his looks that I was falling for or more of his words and the things he said to me. Every time I am with Hassan and his family they make me forgets about my current situation. I know Hassan knows because I told him but I am pretty sure that my father told the King as well. It would just be safer if nobody knew about my situation with Jordan except for Hassan and the King because he is the man of this house. Once I got out of the shower and I smelt like vanilla from the body wash that was in the bathroom already for me. After I dried my body, I let my hair out in an Afro. I didn't like having my hair in a bun all day, I love my natural hair being out. I opened my luggage in the closet and saw all of my clothes, I had a lot to hang up. I found a pair of light washed high waisted shorts and a yellow button-up long sleeve crop top blouse that went along with my yellow flats. After I got dressed, I walked out of my bedroom and decided to go find Jhene's room to bother her because we needed to talk. I heard a few voices downstairs but I didn't bother to go and look to see who that was, I just kept walking until I made it to a door that was three doors down from mine. I opened the door slowly and saw Jhené's body figure sleeping with her chest rising up and down, she looked so peaceful. I walked up to her and sat down beside her, she rubbed her eyes a little before opening them.

"Hey, sis." I smiled as I moved her hair out of her face and she smiled.

"Hey," She whispered before she sat up but her chest was exposed so I looked away.

"Oh my gosh, Jhené. You're naked in bed." I got up from the bed and I slowly saw a clothed arm wrap around her waist.

Jhené looked at me first then she looked down at the arm, she moved the covers slowly off of the person to reveal that it was Adesh sleeping next to her. He must've been in a deep sleep because I was pretty loud. Jhené's eyes widen and she quickly put the covers over him again while I was just freaking out looking around the place quietly.

"Did I sleep with Adesh?" Jhené looked at me with a pout on her face and I shrugged my shoulders slowly.

"I don't know, check to see if you have panties on and if he has boxers on." I pointed at the covers and Jhené nods her head before lifting the covers up.

Jhené looked confused after she looked up from the covers for a moment then she looked at me.

"Adesh is fully clothed but I don't have anything on," Jhené said as she looked around confused.

"What?" I asked then Adesh started to move around and I quickly ran to the door.

"Don't leave me here," Jhené whispered and I looked at her holding the door open.

"Sorry." I nervously smiled before walking out the door and I run into Hassan's mom.

She looked surprised to see me at first but then she showed that beautiful smile of hers.

"Good morning, gorgeous." Hassan's mom said before giving me a hug.

"How did you sleep?" I asked as I hugged her.

"Good...why are you out here?" She asked looking at me curiously.

"Just checking on my sister." I shrugged and she nodded.

"I was looking for Adesh, I know he slept over but I don't see him in his room." She looked around confused as if she was in deep thought and my palms started to sweat.

"Maybe...Jhené knows where he is." She went to go to Jhené's room turning the doorknob but I stopped her.

"She's sleeping don't even bother with her." I lied and she nodded.

"Oh okay, I will ask her later on then." She whispered as she walked beside me and I chuckled.

I felt bad for lying to someone who I really like but it was for Jhené and Adesh's own good. I didn't want Hassan's mother to see a scene in Jhené's room, she would probably think wrongly of me and Jhené and I didn't want to embarrass Hassan's family like that.

"How did you sleep?" Hassan's mom asked as we walked down the stairs.

"I slept really good, I owe it all to you, Miss Abdul-

Hassan's mom held her finger up and I knew what she wanted me to say instead.

"I owe it all to you, mom." I smiled and she smiled widely once we made it downstairs.

"Am glad you feel at home with us already, that's exactly what I wanted. I was nervous at first because I didn't know what your reaction would be to this place or living here in general." Hassan's mom ranted as we walked into the kitchen

I saw two maids who were cooking once we entered the kitchen and I smiled at them. The two maids gladly smiled back at me before they continued on cooking on the stove. The smell of eggs and waffles alone made my stomach growl, I was so hungry.

"No need to be nervous, everything is under control." I smiled as I sat down on the stool next to her and she smiled.

"Where is the King?" I asked looking at her.

"He's out working." Hassan's mom said before taking a sip of her orange juice and I nodded.

"The food is ready." The maid smiled widely she was smaller than the other one who was fixing us a plate of eggs she looked about 5'8 or so and the other one was 4'11.

They both looked elderly and their hair was braided all the way to their backs, I wonder how they manage to keep up with their hair. They both smiled at us as they placed the plates in front of us, my plate had eggs, waffles, grits, and hash browns. Hassan's mom had the same thing as me.

"Do you want to eat outside by the pool?" Hassan's mom asked and I looked outside the window to see that it was a clear beautiful day.

"Sure why not." I nodded and she smiled widely before we grabbed our plates getting up from the stools and heading towards the opened door to outside.

"Good morning, ma." I hear a familiar voice say and I turned around slowly to see the man of the hour, Hassan.

He was wearing jeans and a dark blue t-shirt showing off his arms more, I never knew that wearing the most basic clothes could make someone look more attractive. He smiled at me as he walked towards me and his mom who was right beside me smiling at me and Hassan.

"Good morning, sweetheart." Hassan's mom said before he gave her a kiss on the cheek.

"Good morning, Eve." Hassan smiled before he grabbed my hand and kissed it, I honestly could melt right now.

"Good morning, Hassan." I smiled and he looked at my plate.

"Ma, can I borrow Eve for a moment." Hassan looked at his mom with pleading eyes and she nodded with a smile.

"Sure." She said and Hassan grabbed my plate.

"Actually for the whole day, I am going to be with Eve for the whole day," Hassan said and my eyes widen then I looked at his mom who was smiling widely.

"Of course, go ahead." Hassan's mom said and Hassan gave her a quick kiss on the cheek before taking my plate and putting it down on the counter.

The maids watched us from the kitchen and smiled at Hassan before bowing their heads at him.

"You can have the food," Hassan said and both of the maids smiled widely, that was so kind of him.

"Thank you," The maids said in sync as Hassan pulled me away from the kitchen.

"Have fun!" Hassan's mom shouted as Hassan and I headed towards the front door.

Once we made it outside, the sun shined brightly on my face causing me to squint my eyes then as I adjusted to the brightness, I saw Hassan's dark blue Lamborghini glistening in all its glory. I loved his car it went with Hassan's personality perfectly. Hassan opened the door for me and I got in. As soon as Hassan started the car my stomach growled and I didn't know if Hassan heard it or not.

"Don't worry, I will feed you," Hassan said as we got out the driveway of the house.

Okay, so he did hear my stomach.

"Okay." I nodded as I held onto my stomach after I put on my seat belt then he grabbed my hand after a moment of silence in the car and squeezed it a little and I smiled at him.

"I can't wait for you to see the plans that I have for us today." Hassan smiled as his eyes were focused on the road.

"I can't wait too." I smiled before I looked out the window to see the beautiful view of the ocean and from afar I could see the house.

I still can't believe the house was that big and it's so gorgeous so I can't imagine how big Hassan's house looks.

"Adesh...Adesh, wake up!" I nudged Adesh as he groaned then he moved around in the bed as I continued to push him.

"What happened?" Adesh whined then he opened his eyes slightly looking at me.

"No! I should be asking the questions here, what happened to my clothes?" I asked covering myself more with the covers.

Adesh looked at me for a second then his eyes went big. He turned around and sat up against the headboard of the bed.

"Um, you had got drunk last night." Adesh scratched his head while looking down.

"And?" I asked getting nervous by the second, I hope I didn't anything stupid.

"And you started to kiss me then I gladly kissed you back but you started to undress your clothes and I quickly took you to your room. I was going to leave but you came up to me fully naked and asked me to sleep with you. But I fooled you into thinking that I was so I put the covers over you and told you that I was going to the bathroom real quick and when I came back you were sound asleep. I stayed with you because you weren't sleeping in the right position but while I was fixing your posture on the bed you ended up cuddling me. I was trying to get out of your grip but I ended up falling asleep because I was so tired from having a long day." Adesh explained and I nodded my head when he was done talking.

I felt so stupid and humiliated, how could I let this happen.

"Oh my gosh, I am so dumb," I whined as I covered my face and Adesh chuckled at me as I laid back down.

"I am so sorry for putting you through this." I continued to whine and he grabbed my hands so I can reveal my face.

" It's okay, I thought it was cute." Adesh smiled while wiggling his eyebrows and I punched his arm making him groan in pain.

"That's what you get." I crossed my arms.

"Well, at least I didn't-

"I was looking for Adesh, I know he slept over but I didn't see him in his room." I hear a female say outside the door, the voice sounded very familiar.

"Is that my mom?" Adesh asked as he looked at the door.

"I think so," I whispered then we heard the doorknob turn and my heart stopped.

"Oh shoot." Adesh paused and he looked at me with a worried look.

"She's sleeping don't even bother." I hear my sister say and the doorknob went back to being still.

I sighed loudly once I heard Eve and Adesh's mom leave from the door and Adesh looked at me. I looked at him and we stared at each other in silence for a moment before we started to laugh.

"Thank God for my sister." I smiled and Adesh nodded.

"I know right, " Adesh smiled as he got out of the bed and I watched his every move.

"I should take a shower and brush my teeth," I said as I put my hair up in a bun trying to distract myself from Adesh.

"Okay, I will be waiting downstairs for you," Adesh said before I smiled at him.

"Okay," I said then I looked around the room before I looked at him and he was still standing by the door looking at me.

"Am waiting for you to leave, bighead," I said and he jumped slightly.

"Oh! Sorry, my bad." Adesh shook his head as I giggled at him then he went out the door.

Adesh is truly something else but I like him anyway. Let's just hope that this relationship can go somewhere.

I liked the songs that Hassan was playing so far while we were in the Lamborghini and I got to say he has some good taste in music. Hassan really knows how to drive in this car because he was just smoothly swerving on the streets, I felt like we were in the middle of nowhere as we drove on the highway. As I was deep into the thoughts, I realized that we have been driving for twenty-five minutes. I looked away from the window and looked at Hassan. He was nodding his head to the beat as his eyes were focused on the road, he looked so handsome.

"How far do you live from here?" I asked and he turned down the stereo.

"We're about to pull up to my house now," Hassan said and I looked to see a white modern house from far away.

"Oh my gosh, Hassan. Don't tell me this is your house." I said and he chuckled as we pulled up to the driveway in front of the house then we went to the back.

"This is my house." Hassan smiled as he parked his car.

"This is beautiful, Hassan." I looked at him and he smiled while he shrugged his shoulders.

"Thank you, just wait until you walk inside," Hassan said as he unbuckled his seat belt.

Hassan opened the door but as he was about to get out, I grabbed his hand and he looked at my hand before he looked at me.

"Why did we park from the back of the house?" I asked

"Because I don't like parking in front of my house, it's a safety hazard that I have that my dad taught me," Hassan said and I hummed letting go of his hand so he can get out of the car.

"It must take a lot of courage and patience to be a prince, huh?" I asked once he opened the door for me.

"Yes, it does. But that's why my parents trained me at a very young age." Hassan said as he held his hand out and I took it while I got out the car.

"That's smart and understandable," I said as we walked up the steps then a maid opened the door she was wearing a black dress and her hair was curly, she looked Hispanic.

"Good morning, Hassan. Breakfast is ready." She smiled brightly at the two of us after bowing.

"Thank you, " Hassan nodded before letting me go inside first then he closed the door behind us once we entered into the house.

My mouth dropped in awe as I grasped into the scenery that was before me. The house was big of course because it was a two-story house and just like Hassan said the inside was gorgeous and this was only the entryway. The floors were white as snow with fluffy beige carpets that matched perfectly. The walls were mainly white and light grey but it had brown wooden ceilings and big chandeliers everywhere, it sparkled with the lights as the chandeliers twirl around in slow motion.

"You can take your shoes off, " The maid said snapping me out of my thoughts.

I nodded at her before I took my shoes off by the door and Hassan did the same behind me.

"Have a good day," The maid in a nice manner once our shoes were off then she bowed her head.

"You too!" Hassan and I said in unison then she walked out of the house.

As Hassan and I walked into the house more, we made it to the living room and it was already a dream space for me. As Hassan and I walked into the house more, we made it to the living room and it was already a dream space for me. There are four couches and two chairs that were big enough for three people to sit in. Each couch had a different color, two couches were light grey and had a soft fabric. The longest couch in the living room was light brown and another one was beige and the two chairs were white. The living room had a black abstract table with books on top of it. There was a white long lounge chair five feet away from the table, and the white floors had two beige carpets. The amazing thing was I already felt at home with the sweet smell of vanilla and tasty food. It reminded me of my family back at home and how I would always wake up to the smell of good food and my favorite dish that my mom would make, Jollof Rice.

"Wow, Hassan your place is amazing. Like your parent's house is abstract but this is a house that I really like, it's modern and contemporary it suits you." I said as I walked beside Hassan slowly in the living room and he just smiled at me.

"Thank you, Eve. The food is waiting for us right now so we can explore the house more when we're done eating." Hassan took hold of my hand and led us to the dinner table that was by the kitchen that showed a view of the pool.

The kitchen had a Long Island, the design was white marble and there were lights lit up underneath. The stove was long as well, the microwave and oven were right next to it on the brown wooden walls. The kitchen also had black stools in front of the island.

"Your kitchen is to die for." I covered my mouth as Hassan pulled out the chair for me.

"Your so dramatic, Eve." Hassan shook his head as he sat down in front of me.

"Whatever." I rolled my eyes while Hassan stuck his tongue out at me then he put it back in when two maids came holding plates in their hands then they put the plates down in front of us.

My plate had three waffles with a side of melted cheese eggs and hash browns. I had a bowl and it was filled with grits and had a cup full of orange juice next to me. My mouth watered at the sight, I didn't even look at Hassan's plate because I said a prayer and began to eat my food. Hassan chuckled at me as I filled my mouth with waffles, I looked up at him and he smiled widely.

"What?!" I asked after I swallowed.

"You are just too cute when you eat," Hassan shook his head at me.

"Well, thank you. Eat your breakfast, handsome man." I smiled before I ate again and he picked up his fork.

"So you think am handsome now huh?" Hassan teased and I rolled my eyes then he started laughing.

After we were done eating, we sat and talked about what I do for a living. I wanted to empower girls, make them feel confident and special by wearing the clothes I design. I always wanted to be a fashion designer growing up and my mom helped me change my dreams, we already had the money because my mom comes from a family that has old money from years ago so we went along with it. Hassan told me what he does as a prince, how he donates, and helps his people in India but he's really trying to end poverty in some places and kidnapping of children. I love that Hassan has a humble heart and is willing to do anything for his country and to fight against evil.

"You wanna go outside and chill by the pool?" Hassan asked as I took the last sip of orange juice out of my glass.

"Sure, " I nodded before standing up from my chair while Hassan did the same.

I walked beside him as we went outside the sliding door and walked over to the lounge chairs that were near the numerous pool and sat down in silence

I walked beside him as we went outside the sliding door and walked over to the lounge chairs that were near the numerous pool and sat down in silence. Hassan looked around and kept looking at the pool, seeing our reflection from here, the sounds of the birds singing and the wind blowing is what gave me a sense of peace.

"You know it's a shame, that I can empower young girls but I can't even empower or uplift myself anymore. It's just ever since Jordan and I separated, I felt at peace but also at war in my mind but ever since I met you things started to change for me." I said not making eye contact with Hassan but I knew he was listening to me.

I felt his eyes on me then I felt the warmth of his hands on mine and he brought my hands to his heart and I felt it beating.

"Baby, you don't bring shame and am glad that you are starting to feel at peace again," Hassan said and I chuckled.

"You really mean a lot to me, Hassan," I said and Hassan looked at me with a smirk.

"Eve, are you saying that you like me?" Hassan asked even though he said it in a calm manner I can hear the cockiness in his voice. I looked at him then smiled while closing my eyes, I was going to regret saying this.

"Yes, I like you, Hassan," I said and he held his fist up in the air as if he won something.

"Yes, I got you to admit it, " Hassan sang then he pointed at me. "You like me from the moment you saw me, I liked you too and I confessed to you yesterday. I like it when girls say they like me but it sounds better when you say it." Hassan continued then he sat next to me and I rolled my eyes at his ego.

"Oh my gosh." I shook my head slowly.

"Say you like me again," Hassan commanded and I shook my head.

"No," I smirked challenging him.

"Say you like me again," Hassan said more sternly then I looked at him.

"No, I don't-

I was cut off by his lips on mine and he cupped my face kissing me slowly then he stopped and looked at me.

"Am sorry that came out of nowher-

Then I cut him off by kissing him again and my hands went to his hair instantly while he pulled me closer by the waist deepening the kiss. I didn't want us to go too far so I tapped on his thigh and he pulled away from the kiss. Hassan put his forehead on mine and we chuckled softly.

"I like you, Hassan." I smiled.

"I like you too, Eve." Hassan smiled before giving me a peck on the lips then we laid back on the chair enjoying the view of the skies together while holding hands.
