Feel At Home

Once the movie was done, I got up and stretched my back a bit then looked at Hassan who was looking at me waiting for my reaction.

"I loved the movie!" I said and he smiled widely.

"Am glad that you do. Good thing that I know how to pick good movies." Hassan got up and stood in front of me.

"Well, I will be the judge of that," I smirked and he looked at me in a surprising way.

"Are you saying that I can't pick good movies, princess?" Hassan asked with his eyebrow raised.

"We will see, pick another movie tomorrow and we will see if it's a good one. If not then I will pick the movies from now on." I said getting all competitive.

"Okay, you're on." Hassan smiled and I chuckled.

"So where are you from?" I asked Jhene after a long moment of silence between us as we walked around the garden watching my mom get the place ready with the waiters from afar.

I invited Jhene to come and walk around the garden with me so we can talk in private, I really wanted to get to know her.

"Nigeria." Jhene smiled.

"Why are you here?" I asked looking at her.

"That's something personal but as we get to know each other more I will probably tell you," Jhene smirked and sat down on the bench by the trees. I sat down next to her and she kept looking around still, probably amazed by how big this house is or she's probably avoiding me.

"That sucks! What if we don't have time to get to know each other?" I asked looking at her and she just chuckled at me, trying so hard to look away so I won't see that she was blushing but I already saw.

"Oh, trust me we have time." Jhene looked at me straight in the eyes, her brown eyes sparkled under the moonlight.

Jhené's beauty was unmatched and her character really draws me in every time I speak up to say something to her. I have a feeling that this woman was going to be someone special in my life. My mom used to me when I was younger, that if am trying to search for the love of my life stop searching because it will find you in many different ways. I didn't know what she meant then but ever since I met Jhené I understand now. How I talked with Jhené is very different from how I talk to any kind woman. And believe me when I say Jhené isn't just any kind of woman, the way she talked and walked made me wonder if she was a queen from where she's from.

"How long do you plan on staying here?" I asked

"I don't know." Jhené shrugged her shoulders but I could tell that she was holding back something but I will just leave the questions behind for now.

"What?" Jhené asked snapping me out of my thoughts.

"You're just so beautiful," I said and she smiled, her smile was so beautiful I can get used to seeing this smile every day.

"Oh stop it! I am pretty sure you say that to all the girls." Jhené looked away and I put my finger underneath her chin to look at me again.

"Well, your not just any girl. And I don't say stuff if it's not true." I said and she held my hand.

"Okay, so you're an honest person, I can hang with you," Jhené smirked and before I was going to say something else. My phone rang, I looked at the screen to see that it was Hassan calling me and I exhaled.

"Sorry, I have to take this." I smiled and she nodded pulling her hands away.

"Hello? Hassan." I spoke softly, confused as to why he's calling me when he's inside the house.

"Where are you?" Hassan asked as if am the youngest brother.

"In the garden," I said after I stood up so Jhene won't hear us talking.

"Where is Jhene?" Hassan asked.

"In the garden," I said and I heard a pause before Hassan spoke again, I already knew what he was thinking.

"Don't tell me you're doing it in the garden with her." Hassan whines and I shook my head furiously.

"No, Hassan. What's wrong with you? I just met Jhene." I whispered covering my mouth, I hoped that Jhene doesn't look at me in a weird way.

"That's never stopped you before," Hassan said and I knew he was smirking.

"Aye, Hassan. Say one more slick thing and I will beat you up, don't let me embarrass you in front of Eve." I said then there was silence and I knew I was right about Hassan liking Eve that's why I was teasing him earlier.

"Yeah, I know that you like her," I said with confidence.

"I know that you like Jhene. Don't let me embarrass you in front of her." Hassan boosted and I just chuckled realizing how silly we sound right now.

"Goodbye," I said and I heard Hassan sigh before hanging up. I turned around and looked at Eve who was looking at me strangely.

"Who was that?" Jhene asked and I giggled as I put my phone in the back pocket of my jeans.

"Nobody." I simply said before kissing her hand.

"Adesh!" I hear a familiar shout from afar and we both looked around trying to see where the voice was coming from. I stood up from the bench and saw my mom walking towards us.

"Oh, I thought I lost you guys." My mom had her hand on her chest, looking relieved.

"Why, what's wrong?" I asked

"Nothing, just making sure you two weren't getting too comfortable." My mom teased and I could just stab myself right now.

"Oh, don't worry about us. Adesh was just talking with me, you have raised a good son." Jhene chuckled and I smiled at her. Jhene was easing the embarrassment that I was feeling at the moment by her comment.

"Awe, thank you, love. Now you have to meet someone at this time before the party starts, I don't want to spoil the surprise." My mom smiled at Jhene, I could tell she loved Jhene and her sister already.

My mom always had a bubbly and joyful spirit, when you meet her for the first time you will feel like you guys already met ages ago, just by her being so kind and sweet towards you. This was a trait that Hassan carried but I would say that I was more like my father, who had a smooth and calm aura around him. He was a player back in the day and all the ladies fell for him but it's not until he met my mom and she was a hard lady to get even though she was sweet and warming, she was very careful on who she lets into her heart and that's what my father fell in love with.

"Who is this person?" I asked with a curious look as we walked back to the house.

"You will see." My mom smiled then she pulled me back letting Jhene walk in front of us.

"I know that you like Jhene so I am sorry that I had to ruin your alone time together." My mom whispered and I chuckled at her before wrapping my arm around her waist.

"Mom, you didn't ruin anything. Jhene and I will be just fine." I smiled and she caressed my cheek.

"Now I know that for a fact, sooner or later I will hear about you guys being in a relationship together." My mom smirked as we walked up the steps to the living room door. My mother always had a way of teasing me about something but I loved her anyway. Without her, I don't know where I would be.

"I know you would love to hear that." I smiled and she nodded in agreement.

"Yes, I would. I need some grandchildren but I think Hassan has already beat you to it." My mom smirked as she looked at Hassan and Eve talking with each other on the couch then they laughed in sync.

I don't think they knew that we were in the room, there was just so much chemistry going on and I loved seeing my brother happy. I haven't seen Hassan this happy in a while so I know that Eve will make him the happiest man pretty soon.

"Why did you call him? They were probably having a good time together." I giggled as Hassan got off the phone with his brother. I watched as Hassan sat back down on the couch with me.

"It sounds like they were." Hassan chuckled as he shook his head and I admittedly thought about Jhene and Adesh having sex with each other.

"Hey, it's not like that. I meant that Adesh sounded irritated by me calling him, they were probably just talking and flirting with each other." Hassan explained and I nodded in agreement.

Could he read my mind?

"I heard what you said as well," I smirked and Hassan looked at me with suspension.

"What?" Hassan asked while facing me all the way with half of his leg on the couch.

"That Adesh liked Jhene, what did he say in return that made you freeze up?" I crossed my arms and Hassan looked calm but on the inside, I could tell he was burning up as he looked at me.

"I don't want to say, it's embarrassing." Hassan looked away for a moment and I gave him a death stare.

Once he looked at me again he started to chuckle at my facial expression, I was trying my best not to smile. After a few minutes of staring at him, I could feel that he was giving up on holding it in. I really wanted to know what was Adesh come back to that comment Hassan made.

"Okay, I give up." Hassan had his hands in the air making me giggle.

"Now am going to ask you again. What did he say to you?" I asked

"He said that I liked you and that he was going to beat me up in front of you if I make a smart remark like that again," Hassan said and my eyes widen making him laugh.

"Damn, Adesh Is abusive." I chuckled and Hassan nodded.

"I know right, you see what I have to go through." Hassan put his hand on his chest as if he was hurt and I started to laugh.

"So, is it true. That you like me?" I looked down and started to play with my rings.

"Yes, I do like you. Even though I met you for the first time today, I really like you." Hassan confessed and that made my heart melt.

"What do you like about me?" I asked and he started to laugh then he got quiet probably deep in thought.

"I like your smile, your personality, and your heart." Hassan looked at me and I looked down, his gaze was too much for me to handle.

"That's sweet, but what else? I know you weren't just looking at my smile today. Especially when you first saw me, your eyes looked like they were wondering somewhere else." I smirked and he just looked at me with his mouth open.

"I was, to be honest, looking at your body. I mean come on, Eve. You have an amazing shape am pretty sure Adesh was looking too." Hassan smiled and my eyes grew wide.

"No, don't try to drag Adesh into this. This is all about you tonight." I smirked as he laughed.

"Oh, really?" Hassan asked with an eyebrow raised.

"Yeah, really." I sat up on the couch putting my legs under me with my arms still crossed.

"Okay, as long as I have your attention. I will be alright with anything." Hassan got closer to me and I could feel the tension between us rise.

"Anything?" I asked and Hassan nodded.

"Anything." He smiled and by this time we were close to each other's face.

"Alright, we will see how this party goes." I giggled as I sat back avoiding his gaze on me, this man had a gift of making me feel some type of way just by staring at me.

"We will see indeed." Hassan chuckled, he sounded so sexy just now but I didn't want him to know that.

"Eve, do you like me?" Hassan asked making me look at him.

"Maybe," I smirked as I looked away.

"Liar." Hassan quickly said.

"How am I a liar?" I asked pointing at myself.

"Because you know that you like me," Hassan said with a serious face.

"I don't know what you're talking about." I bite my lower lip trying to hide my smile from coming out.

"Look at what happened just now, how close we were? Plus, let's be clear, I wasn't the only one checking out someone. You were checking me out as well once I met you in the living room." Hassan argued and I looked at him with big eyes.

"No! I wasn't." I shook my head while chuckling.

"Yes, you were." Hassan crossed his arms and I looked at him.

If only he knew how good his muscles looked through that light blue shirt he was wearing while crossing his arms, he wouldn't cross his arms at all. Or would he?

"Am not having this argument with you, Hassan. Because you would need proof that I like you." I said looking away again.

"So what were you just staring at just now?" Hassan asked with his arms crossed still.

"Nothing." I lied.

"You sure you weren't just staring at my arms," Hassan said and I looked at him trying to look unfazed. "My big muscly arms." Hassan continued and I bite my lower lip again trying not to look at him in the eyes then he started to smile.

I swear this man will be the death of me.

"What are you two laughing about?" I hear a familiar voice ask but I knew who it was.

Hassan and I both looked at each other slowly before turning around to see his mom with Adesh and Jhene beside her.

"Nothing." I shrugged as I stood up from the couch with Hassan.

And as Hassan's mom was going to say something the doorbell rung. Making us all look at the door thinking who that possibly could be. Hassan's mom walked over to the front door while we followed behind her. Once she swung the door open, Hassan's mom screamed before she opened her arms wide for a younger female.

After she was done hugging Hassan's mom she walked inside fully and I got a closer look at her face, she looked just like the girl from the family picture in their living room. She was wearing a blue dress that had had a split showing off her legs and white heels. She also had on white long fluffy earrings and her hair was down even though the style of her hair was straight the ends had a wavy feel to it. She was absolutely beautiful and she didn't even have a lot of makeup on to prove that.

"Aesha!" Adesh shouted before he basically ran over to give the woman a hug.

"Adesh, I've missed you! How are you?" She asked once they pulled away from each other.

"Am doing great!" Adesh said with a huge smile on his face.

"Hey, Aesha." Hassan smiled with open arms walking over to her and she gave him a big hug.

"Hey, Hassan. Even though I text you almost every week, how are you?" Aesha asked with both hands on her hips, she looked like their mom when she did that.

While this was happening, Jhené slowly walked over to me as we watched the family talk together.

"I've been good." Hassan nodded as he fixed his hair.

"Hey! Why don't I get text messages?" Adesh asked and I could tell he was jealous.

"As if you're going to reply, Adesh. You know I love you the same anyways." Aesha said making their mom laugh out loud.

"Ouch," Jhené said and that caught Aesha's attention looking at both of us.

"Who are these beautiful ladies? You guys need some manners, I didn't even know that they were here." Aesha teased Adesh and Hassan. Making Adesh roll his eyes and Hassan only shook his head.

"These are Mr. Jones' daughters, they have come all the way from Nigeria." Hassan's mom introduced us and Aesha admittedly came up to us as we both bowed our heads towards Aesha.

"My name is Jhené," Jhené said as shook Aesha's hand.

"My name is Eve." I smiled and Aesha looked at me longer probably taking interest in me already.

"It's nice to meet you both, I hope you guys feel at home with us. In which am pretty sure my family has already done that." Aesha smiled with a hand on her chest.

"Clearly they have." Hassan's mom smirked making Adesh cough quietly at their mom's comment.

Aesha just stood there probably confused about what her mother meant. But her look of confusion slowly changed into a huge smile once she saw their father.

"Papa!" Aesha shouted before she ran into her father's arms.

"It's so good to see you, darling." The King chuckled before he kissed her on the cheek.

"You look amazing, papa," Aesha said after they pulled away making him laugh.

"Thank you. You look amazing as well." The King complimented making Aesha smile widely.

"This is my daughter, just in case you guys didn't know." The King faced me and Jhené and we both nodded our heads.

"I mean, I am pretty sure they got that," Adesh said making us all laugh.

We heard another doorbell after our laughter died down. Adesh went to open the door this time and there was a laughter of joy in the air as Adesh hugged a man who looked like his close friend. Then two other men who were dressed nicely, came into the house giving Hassan's mom a hug and saying happy birthday to her before they went to hug Aesha and the King. Once they saw Hassan they gave him a hug and started to talk to him then the man who hugged Adesh first came to Hassan to give him a hug as well. I gotta admit these men were very attractive, I haven't been around people who were this attractive in a long time. The only people who could compare to this attraction was my own family and friends.

"Now darlings, the party is outside. Hassan and Adesh make sure you guys introduce Eve and Jhené to everyone who is here." Hassan's mom said eyeing Adesh and Hassan.

Adesh and Hassan nodded their heads at their mom before walking over to me and Jhené with their friends by their side almost every last one of them was taller than me and Jhené. Except for one who was a little bit shorter than all of them but he was still taller than us.

"Let me introduce you guys to Eve and Jhené who have come from Nigeria to enjoy their stay with us." Adesh introduced us with a nice smile on his face.

Jhené and I both bowed our heads towards the three men and they bowed their heads in return.

"My name is Remy," Remy had a smooth British accent. The fabric of his outfit was blue velvet and he was wearing a black dress shirt underneath with black shiny designer shoes to match.

"My name is Abhay," Abhay had on a light grey suit with a white dress shirt and white Gucci shoes.

"And my name is Abdul, nice to meet you both." He smiled, he had a genuine voice. Abdul was wearing an all-black velvet suit, and his hair was nicely done.

"It's nice to meet you all, really." I smiled and they gladly return a smile back to me.

"The family is about to pull up, be ready you guys!" The King announced and everyone sighed making me and Jhené laugh at their reaction.

......

𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒓𝒕𝒚 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒖𝒕𝒆𝒔 into the party, after we were all finished eating food. Getting to know Hassan's family and his grandparents was an amazing experience but I was already feeling exhausted talking to different people who were friends to the family about who I was. I tried dodging every question about why I was here and if someone had to ask me why again, I felt like I was going to have to lie about it and I didn't want to lie to the people who respected Hassan's family. I just needed a break from everyone and everything for a moment, if anything I felt like I needed one person here with me right now. I sat on the bench that was by the pool drowning in my thoughts. Their pool was so big and it lit up with different colors making it feel oddly satisfying to me the more I watched.

"Hey, Eve. Can I have a talk with you real quick?" Hassan asked with his hand on my back.

I knew with his eyes, he wasn't just asking he was telling me to talk with him. I simply nodded my head and looked at Jhené who was already in a deep conversation with Remy and Abhay while Adesh and Abdul were by them talking and cracking jokes. Hassan took me away from the party scene until we made it to a secure location by the garden, it was so beautiful even though it was night time I can still see the different colors of flowers everywhere.

"Are you okay?" Hassan asked with a worried look, I looked at him for a moment then I hugged him tightly.

As if he knew what to do he held me even tighter and I almost felt like crying again, I didn't like showing my vulnerable side especially if it's with a stranger. Even though Hassan was no stranger, I still felt like I needed to know more about him in order for me to express my feelings and emotions. I was born an introvert so for a long time I didn't open up to people about my feelings even with myself about certain things, you would have to take things slow in order to make me express how I feel. But I also have extrovert tendencies so in order for me to hide away my feelings, I would talk to people and put on a bright smile so they won't see that I am a shy person when the light is shown on me.

"I just want to stay here for a moment if that's okay with you?" I said with my eyes closed.

"Of course, anything you need. Don't ever feel left alone or feel like nobody sees you for you because I do. I am here for you, Eve. I just want to make you feel at home, that's all." Hassan said and I hummed.

Everything that Hassan said made me feel like I was on top of the world. His voice was so calming and peaceful that I can listen to him talk all day. I didn't want to lose this peace that I had with Hassan and I know that I won't lose this peace, just by the way Hassan and his family treated me. I felt like Jhene and I belonged here and that meant the world to me. Even though I miss my family back at home I still feel them here with me. The way how Hassan's mom acted towards me and my sister, the way Hassan's dad spoke to me, and how I was receiving love from Adesh and Aesha made me feel like I was apart of their my family. They were all showing apart of my family in them and they didn't even know it.

"And you do. You really make me feel at home, Hassan. Don't ever forget that." I looked up to him and he smiled lightly then caressed my cheek.

"If my family is a bit overwhelming let me know okay?" Hassan said making me laugh.

"I will." I nodded then he grabbed my hand.

"Let's take a walk." Hassan pointed at the steps that were ahead of us in the garden.

"But what about the party? You have to celebrate your mom's birthday with her." I asked and he shook his head slowly.

"Babe, it can wait. I promise you if my mom needs us with something she will give me a call. Plus, I already excused myself from her and my dad." Hassan explained and I nodded before we started to walk in the garden.

I held onto Hassan's arm because it was pretty dark out and I didn't want to encounter any unwanted insects. Going back on what Hassan said to me in my mind, I realized that he called me babe. I looked at Hassan as he looked out into space, what was he thinking about?

"You know half of my family believes that we are already dating each other." Hassan smiled then he looked at me for a reaction and I just nodded.

"I have a feeling that you want that to happen," I smirked and he chuckled.

"No, I don't," Hassan shrugged his shoulders.

"Liar," I said then he stopped walking to look at me and we both giggled at each other.

" What am I going to do with you, Eve," Hassan exclaimed as we continued to walk and I sighed.

"I don't know, take me out on a date already." I shrugged nonchalantly as if I didn't just shock Hassan by my choice of words.

"Oh don't worry, baby. I already have plans for us to do together." Hassan shrugged the same way I did, now I was the one who was shocked.

"I was just kidding but apparently your not." I shook my head slowly.

"Why were you kidding?" Hassan asked and I stopped walking beside him and he looked at me with a frown.

"Do you think we're moving too fast?" I asked with a worried look.

"If we are to you then we can move slow, I am fine with that." Hassan grabbed my hand and I looked down at his hand.

"I don't want us to move fast the same way I did with Jordan and ruin what we have, together," I said still looking down.

Hassan paused for a moment then he brought my face up with his hand to look at him straight in the eyes, I honestly could melt just by the way he looked at me.

"That's not going to happen okay? Forget about Jordan because he's not here right now, I am. You don't have to be afraid of him anymore, I am right here and am not going anywhere." Hassan said sternly and I nodded, trying to forget Jordan and his ways.

Hassan was right, Jordan is not here I shouldn't be afraid of him anymore because am safe and secure now. Hassan has truly won my heart this time, I just wish that I can win his.

"Thank you, Hassan, for everything." I smiled and he smiled too.

"Oh, don't thank me just yet, princess. I have a lot to show you." Hassan said and I was curious about what he meant by that.

"Stop with these pet names!" I said and Hassan just stood there smiling at me the whole time.

"You know you like it." Hassan cockily said and I just laughed.

"Are you ready to go back now?" Hassan asked after we were done laughing.

"Yes, I am." I smiled before we walked back to the party which looked pretty hyped now.

The music was playing loudly as Hassan and I were walking closer to the house. Some people were dancing even Aesha and her mom were dancing together in a circle, they looked so cute. I started clapping my hands with everyone else once I saw Jhene and Adesh dancing together in the middle. Abdul and Abhay were shouting for Adesh hyping him up as him and Jhene danced faster to the beat that was playing. Hassan pulled me close by the waist and I chuckled at him confused then he smiled at me.

"Do you know how to dance?" Hassan asked

"Of course I can, I am Nigerian," I smirked and he laughed at my smart remark before pulling me to the dance floor and stood in front of me.

Hassan put his hands on my waist and brought me close to his chest as the music played softly I swayed my hips taking control of his movements then Hassan soon got the hang of what I was doing, I was surprised that they would be listening to Afrobeats instead of their own culture like they were before, I guess that was a culture shock for me. Music is truly a universal language, everyone can understand and love it. Adesh and Hassan's friends were hyping us up by the second and Jhene knew I was shy but she still indulged with the guys and hyped me and Hassan up.

"I see you, Hassan!" Abhay shouted then Adesh started laughing and we both started giggling.

"This is going to be a long night," Hassan said before closing his eyes and I chuckled at him.

𝙊𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙮 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧

Everyone started to leave one by one and eventually, the only people left were Hassan's grandparents who were talking to Hassan's mom and dad outside of their patio. Adesh and Jhene were in the pool together having a good time. Hassan and I decided to chill in the living room and watch a movie again just like our bet, he was going to pick a good movie for us to watch. Aesha decided to tag along with us in the living room since we were the only ones in the house, she didn't want to go home just yet so she stayed and talked with me. After hanging out with us for a while, Aesha left and said her goodbyes to me and Hassan while we sat on the couch enjoying the ice cream birthday cake together while watching an Indian film called 𝗕𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝘂𝗿 𝗕𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗶.

"You know this cake is one of my favorite cakes ever," Hassan said while licking his lips still chewing on the cake.

"Mines too," I nodded before taking another bite.

"Whew, I had a blast tonight." Hassan's mom came out of nowhere with her husband by her side.

"Am glad you did, mom." I smiled at Hassan's mom knowing how much she loved me calling her mom, her smile grew wider if that was possible.

"Thank you, beautiful." She nodded her head with a hand on her chest.

"Thank you for enjoying the night with us, we really had a good time." Hassan's dad smiled at me and I nodded.

"Anytime, I had a good time too." I smiled

"Well! I am very tired so I will be headed off to bed." Hassan's mom said after yawning loudly.

"Okay, goodnight." Hassan and I said in sync looking at each other afterward with a smile on our faces, looking like we were in high school.

"Yes, Goodnight to you too." Hassan's dad smiled before turning off the lights, leaving me and Hassan in the living room alone.

Once Hassan's parents left, we brought our attention back to the movie. I hate to admit the movie was actually good and funny, I've never seen myself in million years watching a Bollywood film. As I took my last bite of the cake I was eating, I was starting to feel sleepy but I didn't want this night to end without saying anything to Hassan. I rubbed my eyes as I put the plate down and Hassan noticed that I was getting tired.

"You should rest," Hassan spoke softly, the only sound that was heard in the living room was Adesh and Jhené outside splashing each other with the water and the people talking in the movie.

"But what about the plates?" I asked in a worried tone. I didn't want Hassan to fetch for himself and be alone washing other people's plates especially if it's only my own.

"I said you should rest, Eve. I will take care of the plates." Hassan reassured and I rolled my eyes.

"If it makes you feel better, I can walk you up to your room." He said and I nodded.

I stood up from the couch and Hassan followed suit as we walked towards the stairs going up to the next floor, he came beside me and smiled. I wondered what was going through his head, one of these days maybe I will find out.

"I liked the movie by the way," I mumbled once we made it to the top of the stairs.

"Am sorry, what?" Hassan smirked, I knew he was going to get cocky after I said this.

"The movie was good," I said clearer and he nodded his head.

"I know, never doubt me when it comes to movies, Eve. I am just that good at picking them." Hassan shrugged as he slightly danced making me laugh and then he did a spin once we made it to my room door.

"I had a great time, Hassan." I pulled him in for a hug and he gently wrapped his arms around me. "Thank you for making me feel at home." I continued against his chest and he kissed my forehead before pulling away.

"Your welcome, princess." Hassan smiled as he caressed my cheek, leaving me in pure bliss.
