Chapter 3: Family Bonding

"Father, have some coffee", smiling kindly, the little girl did her best offering coffee towards the older man, her small hands barely holding the cup. It was a relatively old cup, with few fine lines around the cup, it was going to brake sooner. Kang Byul made a slight assessment of the room, his eyes frantically searching for any usable tools to protect themselves later on. Aside from his first shock after seeing the horrid "collection" of his beloved daughter, there is nothing worth mentioning in the room.

There were rows of old broken cribs stack up beside the window, it looks like someone had broken them purposely. The windows were closed, with a few old news papers covering the panes, it was supposed to be blinds.

Though there was a light bulb illuminating the room, it was slightly flickering. Judging by the cob webs hanging from the ceiling, and the dust visible on the window panes, it is safe to assume that the room had been unused for quite some time already.Perhaps Luna just recently used the room as a hide out, collecting stuffs and putting it on bottles as she wanders about the hospital.

"By the way Luna, since when have you been hiding here?", curious, Kang Byul looks at Luna, still cautious towards the peculiar girl. Luna smiles, sitting obediently beside him. Kang Byul did his best acting his character, honestly speaking, it was his first time seeing an NPC on close contact. "7 days. Since the head office had been found out by the hounds, I've carried my stuff here", Luna answers, shaking slightly as she talks.

"Hounds?", stopping, Kang Byul notice as Luna would tremble upon its mention. "Yes. They are disgusting, they run fast, could climb buildings and jump high", Luna grips her cup. Perhaps she remembered something unpleasant. The girl was quite pitiful, she was probably scared, losing her parents and wandering all alone on such a dangerous place. Kang Byul was greatly touched that she was such a good girl to survive that long, even looking after her parents on such a situation. Though he still feel apprehension towards the girl, Kang byul like how she had been designed to be such a smart and kind girl."Its fine, I'm here".

Eyes beaming, Luna nodded happily. Such a good daughter. This game is kinda nice, if the characters could think by their selves. Remembering the system, Kang Byul fumbles on his phone. Since it was a game, shouldn't he possess an inventory or something similar? Jude Stein was a doctor, he probably carries a medicine box.

Sighing, Kang Byul was frustrated. This game is too much? He barely have anything,a medic should be possessing items intended for healing. How come this guy is empty handed? "Father, are you ok?" Luna tilts her head. Silently, Luna squirms a little, looking at her father. Seeing this, Kang Byul was worried, what does his daughter wants? "Luna, do you need something?", patting her head, she's probably shy to ask him anything. "I'm...my stomach hurts", pouting, Luna finally stops squirming, this time patting her stomach to show her problem. "It was like that?", murmuring, the player wonders why is this game built to be too realistic, even the needs of NPC's must be provided.

"Okay. I'll look for food", standing up,the man put down his cup, preparing to explore the building. Worried, Luna follows her father, pulling his sleeves. "I'll go with you. There are food on the the storage room, but the leeches made it their nest", Luna shakes her head. Pointing the floor above, she pulls her father with her. "The fifth floor; doctors' office have few stocks inside. There must be food inside, plus only a few crawlers hide in the ceiling. If its father, we could kill them!!!", excited, Luna shows an elated smile.

"Ah, father, bring some rod with you, its good for stabbing crawlers", while saying so, she broke one of the cribs' hanging metal bars, taking at least four metal rod with her. "Here", she put it on her father's hand, taking another four rods with her. This girl is really smart, Kang Byul thought.

The two of them walk upstairs, cautiously to avoid encountering any horrid creatures nearby. Contrary on the bloody fourth floor, the fifth floor was relatively clean. There were few patches of suspicious liquid on the wall, but at least there wasn't any torn corpses lying on the floor. "Unlike bloody gores, the crawlers would completely eat their prey, not living even a drop of blood behind", serious, Luna began explaining, completely unaware of Kang Byul's pale face. No wonder it was cleaner here, not even a speck of blood was left behind. "I'm sure father already knew, crawlers would usually hide on the ceiling, jumping on unsuspecting people. Though their claw was too toxic that it could paralyze any person, as long as you avoid their first attack, you could stab them in the head while they lie prone on the floor", smiling, Luna leans near the wall, making a hushing sound."I think father knows it too", Kang Byul could not assure her anything. In fact, he does not even know what kind of freak the crawler is.

"Father, there are two crawling above, please crouch down", Luna alerted him. The player nodded, slowly crouching. Behind him, a screeching sound approaches them. Turning his head, Kang Byul went blue.

Eyes as large as a saucer plate, two green slits stares at him. A purple elongated body stretches, showing an insect-like segmented intersection. The head was mostly covered in hairs, its terrifying green eyes glowing. Raising a scythe-like one meter long tail,it was ready to pounce at him. It jump right at him, making the poor man stumble back. Missing its prey, the crawler wiggle as it tries to crawl up. Luna stabs it in the head. The crawlers stop its movements, its large tail falls down.

"Father, please stab the other one", pointing at the other crawler nearby, Kang Byul almost vomit. What kind of freak is this? Stabbing the insect in the head, yellowish fluid flowed, spilling on the floor. "Since we killed two, three more to go, father", making a peace sign, Luna seems to favor this weird father and daughter bonding.
