Louis's New Love

Alicia was totally surprised by the new gentleness in Louis's words. Louis gently patted her head, his eyes warm and kind as he admitted, "I've been acting too quickly, not thinking about how you feel."

Alicia looked up at him, her eyes shining as she said, "No, I've been just as thoughtless, not thinking about your feelings."

Louis went quiet for a bit, then suggested, "Let's both take a breather. If I still can't stand Chuck being around, I won't make you stay. Maybe my mom was right; you two were supposed to be together. It seems destiny had a different idea when you married me."
