Chapter 016- Burning warehouse

He nudged the creaking door a little and entered the warehouse. It was dark, but the spewing moonlight did a slight justice to it.

He wandered with the help of the moonlight further into the warehouse and halted when he heard a struggle. He pulled out his phone and switched on the light. He heeded the struggle noises and trailed it. The noise took him to a wall closet.

He couldn't open it as he discovered it was locked, so the best option was to break the door. And he smashed it.

"So, this is where you are," He said under his breath as he gazed at the tear-filled face of a girl tied inside the closet. Her milky clothes held blood from bruises, and her lips were paler and a dead man's own. "Couldn't they afford a nice apartment to restrain you? Stringy ass." He denounced under his breath.

He crouched near the girl and untied the cords around her wrist and ankles. He also unfastened the tape draped against her lips. Her skinny body appeared weak.

From his guess? She had been locked here for a long time. He doubted if she was fed once a day.

He tugged the girl into his arm as he switched off his light, "Let's get you out of here." He walked with a quick yet silent pace towards the door. As his hand reached for the door's handle, he noticed a dark gas gathering inside the warehouse. It didn't take time for him to understand the warehouse was on fire.

He yanked the door's handle, but it didn't budge. He pulled it again softly not to attract unwanted attention, but it didn't open. It was locked from the outside. Those people were messing with him.

With the girl on his arm, he ran towards the back door exit, but it was also locked. There was no way out of the burning warehouse. The fragile lady in his arms started coughing due to the vapor cramming the room, even Rogue couldn't breathe properly. But he was used to such situations, unlike the girl.

Before he could find another exit, the light t-shirt on his body flared into flame. He reacted by lowering the girl gently and getting rid of the shirt. But it had already left a few burns on his skin.

With his upper part bare, the weak girl gazed at his muscled chest as he carried her in his arms again. She yelped and held him tightly when he stumbled upon a cracked wood.

Rogue wasn't prepared since he didn't expect the house to be a trap for him. Whoever set the warehouse on fire was trying to kill birds with a single stone. But he wasn't a bird, he was a beast.

Rogue pushed the side door, and like the rest, it was locked. He however didn't turn away to look for another exit as flames filled the warehouse. He simply moved back to a short distance and sprinted over to the door with speed. His bare back met the burning door with a strong force that it broke open, prompting them to swivel on the rough ground. But the girl wasn't injured since Rogue protected her with his body.

He stood up quickly, not heeding to the discomfort of his entirely bruised body, and picked up the girl with his arms and ran. They fled just in time as the warehouse erupted into flames a second later.

Rogue glanced from the corner of his eyes at his aunt's Mansion and saw her husband gazing at the burning warehouse with a look of satisfaction.

"Sick bastard." He murmured. He stared at the girl on his arm and discovered she had passed out. He then made his way towards his car parked far away from both the mansion and the burning warehouse. He dropped the girl in the back seat and entered the driver's seat and drove off.

He already left a note on the nightstand of the room he stayed at his aunt's house saying he had an urgent business to attend to. That's just in case she dropped by in the morning to wake him up.

The drive was silent. He glanced at the sleeping girl through the reflector. The girl he once knew had become small after being tortured by an insane man. He pitied his aunt for deciding to still live with that man even after realizing he was nuts.

He drove into his Mansion, which was guarded by men with weapons in their arms. He stopped at the front of the building and took the girl inside. He instructed a few maids to prepare a bath for the sleeping girl.

As he left the maids to care for the girl, he strode into his room and dialed a number on his phone.

"Do you see her?" The anxious voice asked from the other side.

"Just in time before the warehouse exploded," Rogue replied and used his free hand to unbutton his pants.

"Wait…you mean-"

"Yeah. He's a son from a bad pussy." Rogue cussed. "What are you gonna do now?"

The person from the other side exhaled. "Wouldn't burning his house harm your sweet aunt? How about shoving a sniper into his fine ass?"

This causes Rogue to chuckle. "You're becoming a bad boy, Merton. Into his ass?"

Merton smirked from the other side. "After living with the worst guy on the planet, I think that's inevitable."

"I'll take that as a compliment, Merton. You wouldn't want your boss sending that ass of yours a punishment."

"You're sounding gayish, Rogue."

Rogue laughed, his rich voice sounding through his entire room. "I won't get a boner even if you suck my dick, Merton." He smirks knowing how disgusted Merton would feel now.

"So gross of you, Rogue."

Rogue could hear the silent groans Merton was trying to hide.

"So, how's the mansion?" Rogue asked, changing the subject.

"Has been Fine until you disappear, leaving me to cover for you. Do you know your bed is a rock?" He grumbled. "Pretending to be you on your bed with your dad calling your names for hours isn't what I expected. Not only are you out there, but Marius is also missing. Luckily you later informed me of your location, unlike that guy." Merton exhaled to calm himself. "But anyways, thanks for saving my little sister-"

"There's no need to thank me, you would have done the same for me. Your family is also mine, Merton." Rogue's eyes glinted off something unidentified as he gazed into the night. "I aren't so bad after all."
