XV. Aftermath

The energy emanating from her hands gradually diminishes, and in an abrupt motion, she forcefully separates herself from me-

"wha- what was that?!" Her face flushed with both embarrassment and confusion as she covered her lips with her right hand.

"You don't want lies anymore, right, that was me being real." I said.

"I-- I don't understand you.." Celesty said confused.

"I made a vow, I promised to kev," I stated.

As the pain intensified, I found myself struggling to breathe, desperately trying to regain my composure. With each passing second, my vision became blurry, making it even harder to focus. The kiss at least broke though the storm of emotions, capturing her attention and drawing her out of her state of anger.

"You're not going to be alone, I promised him I'll take care of you. If you still don't trust me, go ahead, but know at least that I'm willing to be with you. I've grown… I've grown a liking out of you." I confessed.

"Like?! I… I don't care anything about relationships…" Celesty denies.

"Either way, I'll be there… And I want to be one, beside you." I said.

"You think I can trust you already with just a confession?" Celesty asks.

"Then what's more for me to say? If that's all of the truth I have. A confession of love and a Vow." I said.

"I can't gain another trust just for me to lose another one." Celesty said.

"You won't lose me, no matter what…" I said.

I've figured it out. Celesty, you're just losing love. This is the most that I could do for you to trust me.

Using my last bit of strength, I bravely extracted the sword that was embedded in my chest as a piercing cry of pain and anguish escaped my lips.

The agony was unbearable but I mustered all my resolve and hurled the weapon aside, watching as it fell to the ground and created ripples on the water's surface where it landed.

In spite of my throbbing, limping foot, I pushed my weary body towards her, driven by an unwavering determination to be closer to her.

Once I reach her, I hugged her.

Slowly, she cries over my shoulder.
