Chapter 10

Riya was walking like a ghost in the entire area. She went to many shops to look for kitchen utensils. She managed to get some stuff like knives, whisks, spoons, plates, and cups. Those were things she needed at this moment. She also needed a fridge more importantly and some food. She was tired of eating take-out food for supper. Tommy normally made breakfast for Riya and her three friends. Riya decided that she needed to start eating healthily.

It was getting dark in the city. Yingjie was following Riya the entire time. He was worried that she might do something stupid. Riya knew that Yingjie was following but she was not interested. She could not stop thinking about what Michael said about her not becoming a businesswoman. He told her not to become a businesswoman. That was so discouraging. Riya felt like a loser after hearing about that. She was also thinking that she was not going to become a businesswoman. She did not have the energy to put up with all those nonsense now.

Yingjie was still following Riya. Riya was carrying two packets in her hands. She did not care how heavy or light they were. But she could hear them making noises in the packet. She was curious about why Yingjie was following her. She turned around to look at him. Yingjie caught her stare.

"Why are you following me?", she asked politely.

Yingjie did not want to lie to her. She just went through a tough time earlier. "I was just checking if you were okay. I don't want you to commit suicide for something like that.", he said sweetly.

"I'm fine. I am used to all of this. I use to put up with worse shit in the make-up industry. Michael is milder compared to other bosses I worked with."

"Oh okay. What are you doing now?"

"I will probably find a café to have my supper then I will be in my apartment for the entire night.", she answered honestly.

Before Yingjie could speak, he heard a woman screaming. Riya was also hearing it. She looked around the area including the roads. She could not see anything but a blue BMW parked in the middle of the road. Yingjie could not see anything in any corner. Riya kept on looking around. Kris came out of the café because he could hear the scream. Some of the customers were curious about the screaming. Kris was looking around when he spotted Riya standing three meters away from him.

"Riya.", he called for her while running.

Riya looked to the right when she saw Kris coming toward her. "Don't tell me you also heard the screaming.", she said with her arms crossed.

"I did..."

The screaming was getting louder. It sounded like a woman. Riya could only hear the screaming coming from that BMW. Her eyes were only paying attention to the car. A man's back was facing her and he was on top of something. Then a leg appeared next to the man. It had a purple high heel on the leg. Riya's eyes widen when she saw that. She looked at Yingjie who was standing next to her. She gave him her two packets.

"Hold my stuff.", she told him and went to the car.

Yingjie held her stuff but he wanted to stop her at the same time. "Riya stop!", he screamed.

Riya did not listen to him. Kris wanted to get her but he felt like she would not listen to him either. Riya was still walking by the car. She made her right hand into a fist. She was standing in front of the car. She lifted her hand and then punched the back window. The window shattered into the pieces. The pieces landed inside and outside the car. The man looked up at the broken. Riya looked inside the car when she saw the woman. She recognized the woman immediately. It was Bingting. Bingting looked up when she noticed Riya. She was in tears and her eyeliner was falling on her face.

"Riya, help me please.", she pleaded.

The man pushed her back on the seat. He got out of the car. Riya was watching the man coming out. Kris, Yingjie, and the customers were watching the incident. The man dusted the broken glass. Now he was looking at Riya. He formed a fist on his right hand. Before he could punch, Riya already punched him on his nose. His nose started bleeding immediately. Bingting got out of the car but she stood next to it with her hands by her chest. The man attempted to punch Riya again. Riya blocked two punches. She grabbed his arm, pulled him towards her then kicked him hard on his stomach. She let go of his hand. The man landed flat on the ground.

Riya looked at Bingting. Bingting ran towards Riya with so much fear. Riya was going to feel slightly uncomfortable but she had to do that. She wrapped her arm around Bingting and made her walk towards Kris and Yingjie. Kris came forward to help Riya. "Kris, take her to your café. She is in trauma.", she said.

"How do you know that?", he asked.

"Because she is trembling so much."

Kris acknowledged Riya's instructions. He took Bingting from Riya. Bingting wrapped her arms around Kris and slowly walked with him. The customers came to help out. Two women took Bingting from Kris and then went to the café. Kris turned around to look at Riya. Before he could call her, something was popping behind her. It looked at a long thick stick. Then he saw the man behind Riya. Kris's eyes widen immediately.

"RIYA, WATCH OUT!!!", Kris screamed at her.

Before she could turn around, the man hit the stick on her lower back. Then he knocked the back of her left leg with the stick. Riya landed flat on the ground on her stomach. Kris and Yingjie were about to run to recuse her. The man threw the stick on the ground then he took out a gun. He was pointing the gun at Riya. Kris and Yingjie stopped immediately. Riya tried to get up but she was struggling. The man had an evil smile while pointing his expensive gun at her. She looked at him in pain. Then she saw a white scary skeleton tattoo on his neck. The whole thing was becoming interesting to her. If she was not going to get shot, she was going to research this whole gangster thing. The man was about to pull the trigger. Something hit on the back of his head. The man looked up at the people looking at him. He dropped his gun and held the back of his head. He slowly turned around when he saw a man standing in front of him. Riya looked up to this new man in the scene.

This man looked handsome with a very muscular body. He had wonderful facial features and a very nice thick black undercut hairstyle. He had a long stick in his hand. He had a bad-boy smile while looking at the man. He lifted the stick and slammed it on the man's face. The man landed on the ground, knocked out. Kris looked at the man that was holding the stick.

"Gege (big brother).", he called for the man.

Wang Liang looked at Kris running towards him. He threw the stick onto the ground, next to the knocked-out man. Then he looked at the woman lying on the ground. Kris stopped in front of him.

"What are you doing here?", he asked Liang.

"I came to visit you but then all of this has to happen.", he spoke with a very deep voice.

"Kr...Kris. Ah!", Riya cried in pain.

Kris looked at Riya. She was struggling to get up. Kris squatted down to help her. Then another man appeared behind Liang. Michael came running from the hotel. "What happened here?", he asked.

Liang turned around to look at Michael. He was now looking at Michael. "Your girlfriend just got raped by the gangster's man.", he answered in a cool manner.

"What? Don't tell me it was your men?", Michael asked in worrisome.

"My men won't do such a thing.", Liang hissed.

Michael looked at Riya who was lying flat on the ground. She had small bruises on her face. Kris was keeping her company. Yingjie came towards his cousin. "This is all your fault. None of this would happen if you weren't arrogant towards her earlier.", he said in anger and pointed at Riya to make it known to Michael.

Michael looked at Riya who was in so much pain. Bingting came out of the store when she saw Michael. She immediately started running to him. He saw her coming toward him. He ran towards her. Michael and Bingting hugged each other. Liang annoyed those two and went toward his brother. He squatted down next to Riya who was now knocked out. He was looking at her for some time.

Yingjie came towards the group. "Is she going to be okay?", he asked.

"Yes. She just looks tired from the fighting and she is in pain.", Liang answered.

"Gege.", Kris called for Liang. Liang looked up at Kris. "The men she fought with had the skeleton tattoo."

Liang looked at his brother with shock but he did not show it. He could not see ambulances. He had a feeling that they were not going to come sooner. He placed his arms underneath Riya's back. He slowly lifted her off the ground.

Yingjie looked at Liang. "Where are you taking her?", he asked.

Liang was holding Riya in his arms. "To the hospital. The ambulances are not going to be here on time.", he answered.

Liang walked with Riya in his arms. He was being careful with her lower back. Kris and Yingjie were traveling together to the hospital. Liang stopped in front of the black Mercedes car. He opened the right back door slowly. Once he opened the door wider, he gently placed Riya on the back seat. He closed the door and then went to the driver's seat. He entered the car and then put his seat belt on. He started the engine and waited for Kris. Kris was in the car and was behind Liang's car. Liang started driving to the nearest hospital.
