Dashing out of the room, I made my way towards the attic with my heart on my palms. I might be lucky today but what happens when he comes again? How would I even be able to cope with Asher here?
I can longer watch him do all those disgusting things to me again.
"Hey, why are you running, what crime have you committed?" I heard a loud voice at my back.
I froze on recognizing it was Maya. What does she want now? I breathe in, turning back to see her staring disgustingly at me.
"I did nothing, I'm only rushing to finish up my house chores since it's getting late"
"And why do I find it really difficult to believe your lies?" She gagged, sipping from the juice in her hands while staring into my eyes to search for fear.
I did myself the favor of keeping my expression as neutral as possible.
My eyes are on you" she muttered, pointing two hands at her eyes then channeling the hands to my face before walking out.
