Chapter 17: Castle of Light
“Welcome Sir,” the butler greeted Raul with a bow.
Raul bowed in return and entered the castle, as if in a dream. He pinched himself to make sure that he was awake.
The interior was filled with colourful lights, streaming from star-like crystals in the ceiling, as well as from various chandeliers. This made Raul feel warm and at home, so he walked on further.
Raul entered a large, glamourous hall. There were many people dancing to the sound of classical music there. Some of them smiled in his direction and he returned their smiles. He weaved his way through the dancers and continued on, until he noticed some stairs leading to a downstairs area. He went down that flight of stairs and walked into a lounge, where he found himself alone.
He stood there looking at the beautiful purple lounge. There were golden ornaments everywhere and the walls were covered with purple and white floral wall paper. The furniture here was also purple.
