I pressed my lips together as I watched my family walk away, I rejected everyone, have ever known all my life to be with strangers.

" Let go inside!" the alpha spoke making me realize have staring at blank space all these while, they were gone, my grandpa, my dad, Nathan, they left without me, and it just made me feel alone.

" Come on, let go inside"

" I don't want to" I was trying to hide my tears from him even though I knew he could perceive it, I just didn't want him to see the tears in my eyes.

" Come to walk with me" He spoke and without waiting for my reply, he drags my hand, tugging it beside him.

" Why did you do it? Why did you choose me, this place, over your family".

" They hide the truth from me all these while, grandpa always trained me with spear, but I just didn't understand what it was for"

I bit my lips walking beside him.

" It not your fault..... There was no way you would have known. I am sorry, one of my bite you, turning you into this thing you are now…."

" Not at all, I don't know how I would have survived the breakup with Nathan if I was still there, thank you for giving me another chance at life, to start afresh with a new family"

" It my pleasure, did you finish your meal?"

" No, I kept hearing your voice call to me and that was what led me to the camp"

His cheeks widen up in a smile, that is the first time he ever smiled so broadly at me.

" What is funny?"

" Nothing, just glad you listened to your heart even though you didn't understand it"

" I don't understand, what are you talking about?"

" You will get to understand when the time is right"

" Walk with me to the patrolling area, your grandfather has just declare war, so I think we Should be getting prepared"

" Are you afraid of him?"

" Am afraid of no one, he should be afraid of me"

He stares blankly at me, those green eyes reflecting fire as it glare. He was dangerous, I knew it the first time my eyes met his, I know I should avoid him and yet am drawn to him.

" Why do you kill people?"

The question popped out of my mouth before I could think.

" Shit…. I am sorry, I shouldn't have said that".

" No, it okay. It our gene, we are meant to be aggressive else we die early, just like my brother did" He lower his eyelid as he mentioned his brother and I could see the sorrow in it.

" Am sorry about that"

" I hate it when you keep apologizing"

He command staring at my lips and I stare at his, it was pink, I could tell it was soft, yet I wanted to touch it, taste it, feel it, the urge in my body was strong sending an electrifying chill down my spine.

' Come on, just go ahead and kiss him, let actually see what it feels like' My wolf advised.

' But it wrong, he is the alpha, we could get killed for that'

I told her, and yet, I kept moving close to him, closer until I could feel his breath, his heart beating quicker and the smell of lavender just aroused me more. I push my face forward slowly, watching his reaction, but that blissful moment turned into an embarrassed moment when his beta barged in panting heavily.

He stopped to stare at us, noticing the awkwardness as I fickle my fingers.

" Am sorry…. I didn't know she was here with you".

" What do you want?" Dario asked, his voice loud and angry.

" I just got a word from the patrolling team at the boarder, pesh's men were seen scanning the area" Luke report while stealing glances at me.

" Don't you think it time you have a talk with him" Luke advised, his attention still on me

" I think I should go!" I announced while trying to walk away, but Dario grab my hand tight but not enough to inflict pain.

" Stay…. Please" He begged, his eyes tender.

" Would you advise me to settle our grudge with him now, I mean considering I killed most of his important men and officials?"

His question directed at me, and yet, I couldn't fathom why he would ask me such, why he was giving me so much attention.

" Why are you asking me"

" I want your opinion"

" Why did the war start in the first place?"

" He killed my only brother, and in return, I killed his wife"

" Are you tired of the war?" I asked, his hand tugged to mine making me uncomfortable and even while I try releasing my hand from his grip, he just held it more while Luke stood behind not saying a word.

" Am a wolf, hunting is my nature, I never get tired of fighting"

" So why do you want to stop the war? I mean, what has changed?"

" You!" " Me? Why me?"

"I don't want you caught up in all of these"

" And why would I get caught up in your feud?"

" Did Mira talk to you about mate?"

" Yes, she said something like that, that I was supposed to marry my mate when I find him after he marked me, that really absurd"

" Why do you think so?"

" The moon goddess shouldn't decide who I marry, and what if I refuse?"

Dario turns to stare at Luke, I noticed the spike in his heartbeat, but I couldn't tell why.

" Let not talk about these any further, let go back to the pack house" His seems disappointed, but I couldn't fathom why.

We walked back to the pack house while I noticed wolves in their animal form on patrol around all the boarder. And while we walked back, he still held my hand.

" Were you going to kiss me before Luke walked in?"

He suddenly pop the question the moment we were both alone at the pack house.

" What ..... No… Why would I kiss you" I stutter?

" I don't know, I thought I saw your lips sprout out to kiss me" A smirk formed across his lips, he was obviously mocking me and was enjoying it.

" Were you hoping I would kiss you?" I teased, hoping for a positive response.

" Are you trying to find out if am attracted to you?"

" What!!!" I exclaimed, my cheeks flutter red.

" Relax I was only joking" He exclaimed as he chuckles loudly making me notice pear of fine shaped dimples while his pink lips curved.

" What is funny?"

" Nothing, I just think you are cute"

" You think it am cute?" I asked trying to control my heart beat which was a total failure as he stares at me amuse at my childishness.

" Go back to your quarters, I need to rest, I will be supervising the patrol tonight. And yes, you are cute" He chipped while walking away without turning around to see my reaction.
