Chapter 8

Another morning again to begin a new day. As she opens the door she was shocked when saw the presence of the King's armies on every street. She felt afraid to see this alarming situation which leads her to sweat. She stepped out then slowly lock the door.

The King was starting to do its first move to commit its desire but who would know that she was just there, near from them. She holds the coiled fabric on his neck to make sure that she wears it very well and safe. In her each step, her heartbeats getting faster.

While waiting for the bus at the side of the road she was turning her sight to every direction where the armies are. They were standing firm and serious with their grim and shiny armors and sharp swords. Their eyes were restless. They were like owls in the dark and bats in the cave. They are always ready to make a fight and they don't do fright. Her focus came back to her purpose when the bus stopped at her front. She attempts to walk in rush towards the bus but she suddenly stopped and it was like she was stuck in that place and position when one army was walking towards her. She was afraid to move and her body starts to shuddered but only she could feel it.

The bus beeped once then she turns into it and turns again to this army. Her time turns slow in a second and in the meantime, she could hear every beat of her heart as she was focused on the army's every footstep. And the bus beeped again. She was in total shock when she heard it. When she turns her attention again to this army she felt more shocked and her eyes widen when noticed that this army's distance was only one meter left away from her.

She cannot help herself from fear. She suddenly runs as fast as she could across the road towards the narrow and dim path between the two well build houses. At the back of these houses was a forest, the forest called Millikish.

Almost stumble at every step that she takes because of the big roots and rocks that are being covered by leaves. Sweats from her face are dropping in the ground while her breathing is getting faster and faster.

The surroundings were a little bit gloomy and she could hear the chirping of the birds everywhere. She immediately stopped in the middle of nowhere. Still, she breathes fast and felt exhausted too. Then hold her knees and look forward while gasping. After a few seconds bygone, she stands straight and then wondering where she was right now.

"Where am I?"

She said in a whisper.

The happenings lately flashbacks in her mind and realized what she had done. She shook her head then starts to smile and begin to laugh. It's crazy to think that she's acting weird but who could not be like that after an intense shock and she also thinks that it was just a misinterpretation of her.

After about a minute she becomes serious and turns her sight around. Trees are about twenty meters tall and each tree is verdurous and brunches are almost covered by mosses. The ground is brownish because of almost rotten leaves being scattered everywhere.

She wondered when the birds' chirping suddenly stopped and the rustling sound of the winds was getting louder and stronger which leads to the shaking of the upper part of the trees. This was strange. She feels that there was something in this forest. She turns at her back when heard four chronological footsteps. But there was nothing there. There was something present in this place and she couldn't figure it out.

She runs again forward then stopped for about a minute then turns around and runs to the right side. Again, she stopped running and turn around. She was lost in the middle of this forest. She holds her head with her two hands and then combs her hair with her fingers.

"What should I do? Arrrghhh!"

She kneels then bowed her head off.

Right now she hates herself for making actions of a sudden without thinking carefully. She made a danger for herself and right now she was already lost. The chirping of the birds came back and when she heard it she slowly lifted her head then look at the surroundings. She stays in her position until she successfully calm down herself.

A single sound of a footstep appeared at her back. Before turning there she stopped for awhile then think deep. Even though there was a little bit of hesitation she chose to know what it was. While looking where the sound came from she stands up. She walks forward in this direction and stopped when she saw nothing.

Fontana thinks that there was just someone who was making fun of her. She turns around hoping she could find someone.

"Come out, please. Come out..."

She stopped for awhile.

"I need help! I need help! Anybody? Hello?"

She starts to lose hope. Maybe she was just believing things that are not true again, maybe she was just driven into her imaginations again, or maybe not?

Other footsteps again were heard on her right side. She didn't give attention to it because she believes that it was just another deceiving occurrence again. Then a twice footsteps appeared again in the same direction and the wind was like trying to push her to the right side where the footsteps came from.

Fontana realized the situation.

She steps forward to the right side on her own then stopped and heard again another footsteps. She follows the every step that she heard until she reached an abandoned building that was very known to her.

Expends almost the whole day sitting in while leaning at the wall and closing her eyes or focusing on looking at the shelves and books at the front of her. The place was a little bit dim and the silence for her was relaxing.

One tear drops from her eye while her eyes are closed. Her mind was drowning her in distress.

She had already lost her job where she could get an income for her daily needs. But it doesn't matter for her right now for there was a bigger problem than that. Her life was in adversity. She cannot trust anyone even the three but she could ask for help if possible, as she continuously thinks.

Because of her concerns and annoyance for herself, she fell asleep for about almost three hours.

The lights are turned on. Footsteps are forwarding to where Fontana was.

He sits beside her and leans his head against the wall. After about five minutes Fontana starts to wake up.

"You are awake. What happened?"

She immediately turns to her right side and saw Domzkie leaning while sights are forward. She could not talk nor look at him in his eyes so she bowed her head off.

Then after a few seconds, she opens her mouth and talks.

"Where's Genus?"

Domzkie looked at her in seriousness without her knowledge then immediately looks in another direction then stands up.

"At work."

And he walks out.

Fontana just sighed and lean her head again.

Even if she wants to tell him or anyone she couldn't because she must not tell anybody. Privacy is the key to survival and privacy is the perfect motto to succession.

Eliona came into this library room and stopped when she saw Fontana at the corner.

"What do you want to eat?"

"Please I want Domzkie- "

Eliona suddenly stopped her from talking when she inserted a sudden talk.

"You want to eat Domzkie? Domzkie is not food."

She said sarcastically.

Fontana got irritated then looks at Eliona in a very serious manner.

"Cut off with that nonsense mentality! I want Domzkie to come here."

Eliona feels a little bit of shock when she witnessed that Fontana was acting horrible but before turning back and stepped out of this room she rolled her eyes.

Fontana saw this manner from her.

"What a hypocrite..."

She whispered.

After just a few seconds bygone, Domzkie arrived.

"What do you want?"

"I have something to ask from your group."

She knows that Domzkie was the head of their group and she needs to convince him for something.

He just waits for the next words of Fontana.

"Do you want the change, don't you?"

Then looks at Domzkie eye to eye. He didn't respond to her but instead, he continued looking at her eyes in seriousness.

"If you want the change then I had a better idea for that change would you accept it? You have options, the yes or yes."

Domzkie smirked a little then respond nothing.

"Can you not talk? I am offering you a better idea for change. Do you ever wonder how this world came up like this? This demon-like world? Do you ever wonder who's your parents are or even brethren if ever there are?"

She stands up and holds her neck by her left hand.

"I missed them... I missed them so much..."

Tears from her eyes started falling then she wiped them with her hands.

"You didn't even tell me what idea you have for the change that you are saying about so how would I know then respond?"

Fontana realized what he said. She felt an embarrassment for herself. She sits again on the layering books while looking to the floor.

"Let's meet the King in person."

Domzkie's eyebrows almost stick together when he heard Fontana's words.

"The King? Woo! Come on Domzkie. It is my chance to meet the King for the first time."

Genus suddenly said excitedly but when Domzkie gives him a serious look his smile fades away.

"Fontana you know you are thinking not very well. Going to the King is not that easy."

She immediately stands up then faces him.

"There's no word easy in this world. We are all facing difficulties. Can you witness the incidents that are happening in our surroundings? Or you can but you're just afraid to face the reality-"

"No! You are the one who's afraid to face the reality Fontana! You cannot change the destiny of this world! You cannot fully change anything in this world!"

Fontana can't believe what she had heard from this man in front of her. She didn't think that he would say that to her for she thinks that this Domzkie was different from the people who surround her.

While Genus also can't believe what he was witnessing but he remains silent while looking at them. And Eliona was at the work area while sitting and eating pizza. Even if she heard what was happening in that place she doesn't care about it.

"I am wrong about you. I'm wrong. You're not different from everyone, you're all alike. You know, you're a coward."

She sits back while holding her head with her two hands then bowed and closed her eyes.

Domzkie stopped for awhile while looking at her with no emotion then turns back and walked out. Genus walks towards her and sits beside her. He tapped her shoulders.

"Fontana, you know there is reason in why it happened..."

She lifted her head to looks at him. She shook her head then looks forward.

"You know what it feels when there's no one who could understand you? Do you ever felt that? I don't know how to describe it but it's painful."

An idea popped out of a sudden from her mind that maybe she was just selfish for acting so mean to Domzkie without considering his condition too but only herself.

Genus just keeps listening to her.

"But maybe you're right. Maybe he had his solid reason for that but the only aim that you had was the change, right?"

Then looks at Genus.

"Yes, but maybe this is not the right time for that. Our invention is not yet done so there's no reason to see the King in person without a firm reason too."

"No, there is."

"What is it?"

Genus was curious about that reason for her but she remains silent for awhile.

"Nothing."
