 The effect of the werewolf's demise was instantaneous the monsters birthed from his actions instantly lost their ferocity and infectiveness, the dark cover of the sea of steam was soon fading granting the kingdom and its king full control over the territory. 

The deity who was still battling the king noticed this change and immediately fled, the slight flaw in the king's domain was no longer available, meaning he was back to being invincible within his territory. The king ignored his fleeing opponent, it would be unwise for him to chase after her leaving his home advantage, he turned back his gaze to his kingdom and with a thought, the steam and fog surrounding the country began to thicken, the fleeing deity could see that the fog had enveloped the coastal kingdom rendering it virtually invisible to the outside world.
