At the rehearsal hall, the girls practiced their musical talents while Mikey taught Ana to play drums which she took up fast and surprisingly well. Jetta went around the stage and occasionally summoned equipment that was needed and did sound checks on new equipment she conjured. As everyone was nearing time to do their first joint practice as a whole Jetta walks to each of the girls and hands them a booklet of what appeared to be sheet music and lyrics. She then summoned microphones, plus stands, for the girls and walked back to Master Calico's side in the front of the stage.
"Wait, you want us to play this master?!" Liz asked a bit perplexed.
Vicky cheers, and says with a broad smile, "Alright! Now this song is more my style, can I do back up vocals?!"
"Well… I guess it's ok. Any complaints Ana?" Gwen asked as she turned to Ana.
"Oooh yeeeaa! I totally know all the lyrics and I can definitely play this beat!" Ana cheers out while twirling a drumstick in her hand, she was literally sparking with excitement.
The turtles move to the front to witness greatness but what happens they were not prepared for. Jetta gives the countdown then Vicky plays the first few bars and then Liz begins to sing a familiar song to the turtles… Teenagers by My Chemical Romance. The turtle's jaws hit the floor… The girls rocked as if they were natural rockers. Vicky and Liz's vocals harmonized perfectly and their synergy on stage was amazing.
When it came to the solos Vicky did amazing guitar riffs that went well with Ana's dum solo and Liz's vocals were outstanding. At the end of the song Vicky does a little riff with the guitar to close just like in the original song and the turtles were in awe.
Just then Master Calico was clapping her hands, "Bravo, my girls! True camouflage if hiding in plain sights so why not be a girl band? Heaven knows this world doesn't have enough girl rock bands… your talents can save witches and make money for our new friends. Not to mention hone both of your skills while doing it."
Liz sighed heavily, "what is this truly about Master? We know when you are plotting something so out with it."
Master Calico pouts rather childishly, "I just wanted to expose the enemy during the battle of the bands competition and help the enslaved witches escape… is that wrong?"
The girls traded a look and nodded, then Liz said, "We will go along with this plan but the guys can't have glamor…"
"Yea, its too weird to sing and look at my mate and see a stranger's face looking back." Vicky quipped, then smirked and looked at Raph, "besides, I kinda miss his handsome mug."
Raph smirks back and raises an eyebrow at her.
Gwen then spoke next, "Besides, glamor spells take a lot of concentration as you have to focus on the image of the person you are projecting… its simpler if we go as a costume girl rock band and say we are wearing elaborate costumes for the show than wasting energy with a spell."
Master Calico smiles, "Ever the thoughtful one. Gwen, you have made a valid point and we will go with your idea… any others?"
Ana raised her hand then asked excitedly, "how many songs do we have to play in the competition and can I pick?!"
Just then all three girls said in unison, "NO ANA!!"
She sank a bit into her drum chair and mumbled, "Party poopers…"
Master Calico chuckled at their antics as she very much remembers this is how it used to be back home with them.
