CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX

"Where are you going?" My mother stopped at my door and crossed her arms with a smile as I finished putting my earrings on. "You look nice, in a dress if I might add. Smells like romance." She uncrossed her arms and made her way in. "I'm so happy to see you like this, you deserved to be happy."

I looked up at the ceiling and blinked my eyes, not wanting to ruin my makeup. "I know, and I tried, I really did but the feeling of betraying my brothers is killing me. I want to, I really want to be happy and really enjoy this night, but I can't."

"Oh honey, come here." She opened her arms and pulled me into a hug. "All your life you've been thinking about your brothers, don't you think that it's time for you to be happy? To start thinking about what you want and what's best for you?"
