Finding out the race

Walking into a coffee shop my mother goes to often I could see her talking to her friends. I told her that I would see her at home and left. It would become a problem quickly if my mother starts talking about when I was a baby.

Getting back home I go into my room looking for the egg. I noticed Nyx was sitting on top of the egg. "Nyx, what are you doing?" I asked the bird sitting on top of the egg. "I'm brooding this egg. It doesn't seem like she didn't have anyone to brood her. So I took it upon myself to brood her." Nyx said with a proud tone. I was just wondering how weird owls are.

Allow her to go into the library to find out what species it is. I can't wait for it to hatch. So I will have to study about different eggs of magical creatures. I put on glasses that have the ability to increase reading speed and understanding. It was time for me to start my search.

Going through the books like a mad man. This happens whenever I want to know something. I guess I'm a ravenclaw in a lot of ways. Though I'm proud to say that I am a pure ravenclaw. Unlike the ravenclaw these days I absorb the knowledge. They just copy out of the books.

So I started looking at the pattern to see if I could find any with a similar pattern or texture. My mother came back and told me to stop and eat dinner. So I unwillingly left the library and ate dinner.

To my surprise my mother started talking about what house I would be in. Then it hit me while I was skimming through books I saw a gryphon egg. I ran to the library at full speed. Just running nothing in my way.

As soon as I got to the library, I started searching for the book. It only took me ten minutes, but I finally found it. The book about gryphon eggs. I made my way to my room where Nyx was brooding the egg.

They look similar but not the exact same. I was guessing that it was a subspecies. That was pretty cool. I got a rare gryphon egg. I was so happy that I started celebrating. Though I might know what certain type of gryphon it is. It's a gryphon nevertheless.

So I spent days reading or practicing my magic. I read in a old book that old wizards raised familiar. They gave pure magic into the egg. So that when it hatch it has a chance to evolve. So I started pouring small amounts of magical power.

The egg absorbed it like a sponge. I was reading in my room and I saw a crack in the egg. "The egg is hatching the egg is hatching." Nyx said which I immediately run towards the egg. I saw crack starting to spread across the egg.

Finally the egg broke and I could see a small gryphon though instead of two wings it has six. I think it was a combination between a gryphon and a thunderbird. "I'll name you hope. Since you will be the hope in our lives." I said to the little gryphon. She just cutely try to move around. Her body isn't strong enough to walk yet.

I showed my mom the new member of our family. She was shocked that a new species appeared. I bet that the one who got the egg though it was useless. So they put it as a prize in a gambling den. Smartest choice of my life.
