"What do you mean, pregnant? I have my period," Marissa said, clearly surprised by the sudden news. Her words came out sounding a bit rude. "Ah, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be rude, but doctor, how can I be pregnant? I have my period every month," she asked, confused.
"No, it's okay. Sometimes, women can have what seems like a period even when they're pregnant. Is your period a heavy flow?" the doctor asked, wanting to make sure it wasn't a concerning situation.
"Heavy…" Marissa replied in an unsure tone. "I mean, I think... wait, doctor, so am I pregnant?" Her words were jumbled as she felt both confused and excited. She realised that her period had been more like spotting and had ended in three days last month.
The doctor giggled at her reaction. "Yes, you are—"
"But wait, doctor," Marissa's expression changed, "I got my period two days ago, and the first day was quite heavy... I mean, it filled half of the pad." She started to worry.
