Chapter 70 - XP Rush

He locks onto a zombie then zooms forward to land a punch. His fist literally goes through the zombie and he pulls it out in disgust. He kicks such zombie away then backhands another, right off of its rotting feet. He turns and punches a zombie twice in its ribs. At least 4 of the zombie's ribs shatter from the impact.

He kicks the zombie right into a tree and the branch pierces through its heart. This leaves a dead zombie just hanging on a tree. He spins around and shoots a zombie into the air with an uppercut.

He turns and kicks a zombie clean in the chest. He grabs the loose arm of such zombie and throws it into another zombie behind him. Both zombies fall onto the floor but subconsciously form into a fused being. The zombie grows from each 5'5 to a single 5'9 and the fused zombie is also 170lbs.

Tanji swings his arm in preparation and grabs a zombie next to him by the neck. He squeezes and the head of the zombie almost pops off. He drops the body and prepares to face the newly powered zombie.

He blocks a punch from the large zombie then lands two good strikes to the gut. He then punches the zombie in its jaw and his metal knuckle cracks the jawbone. He blocks a left hook from the zombie with little difficulty and uses a side kick to secure distance.

He hooks a zombie in the head then grabs its shirt and slams it into the floor, while still looking at his true opponent. Qi collects around his right arm and he prepares himself. His hair and clothes flow from the influx of qi and he rushes forwards.

The grass below rips and the ground trembles from his powerful steps. Even the zombie shows a slither of fear through its blind rage and aggression. He strikes the zombie in its chest and launches it off its feet. The attack shatters the ribs of the zombie and slams it into a tree. The tree begins falling and takes out 4 other zombies once it falls.

As the tree falls, there stands a skeleton.

Tanji puts up his fists and says "Let's get it."

Sharp and long bones start to protrude from the skeleton's arms.

"My teacher said that skeletons can be killed with a strike to the head. Trying to hit them on their body is useless." He analyses. He prepares his True Power Fist and prepares for action. The skeleton runs right towards him and cuts through the air with its new, sharp bones.

Tanji just about dodges a slash from the skeleton but gets scraped across the cheek. A few droplets of blood are released before the wound is healed from his healing factor. He then strikes the skeleton in the head and the explosion just shatters its skull. Just a bunch of tissue and bone is in dead and broken clumps across the ground, with no movement. He then looks up to see another notification.

"Good." Tanji states.

He knocks a zombie with a single punch then heel kicks another and shatters its jaw. The zombie's lifeless body drops to the floor and his second skeleton faces him. Clumps of flesh and skin hangs from the bones of the skeleton's body. In it's dark eye sockets, shines a small golden light. Tanji makes his stance and prepares for battle. Luckily, only 4 skeletons and a few zombies remain.

"This skeleton looks different. I see some weird light. I'm going to pull out some more qi and see what happens." Qi flows into the fists and also the knuckledusters he wields.

He runs forward but then sees that the skeleton has some good speed. He punches it clean in its head but such punch just breaks some weird appendage bone.

*BAM*

He is punched in his gut and is definitely caught off-guard by the impressive feat of strength. The skeleton then extends a sharp bone on top of its knuckles. The sharp bone pierces right through Tanji and causes masses of damage. Blood droops onto the floor from the open wound and Tanji feels strong pain in that area. The skeleton forms the same bone on the other fist and swings it at Tanji. He blocks with his arms and gets a slit across both forearms.

Through the wound, you can see the damaged muscles being redone and refined at lightning quick speeds. Tanji falls to one knee from the pain but instinctively dives out of the way of the bone swing. He makes a tight stance and thinks "I can't let my body get cut because I can get seriously injured from it. I need to use my arms. They'll likely have the least chance of getting cut too. My injury also feels like someone stabbing me with a flaming hot knife! I can barely concentrate!" Tanji grits his teeth from the pain and gains a weary pace of breathing.

Tanji rushes forwards and lands a clean strike on the skeleton's head. He lands a roundhouse kick to the same area then swivels around and hits that same area again with a heel kick. The skeleton has a quite deep and visible crack across its head. However, the wound seams to heal with the same healing factor of supernaturals.

"So this is the power of the skeleton.."
