After our days of training under pro heroes ended, I had asked Willaim if he wanted to meet my friends. I assured him that they were very sweet and caring, nothing like that villain Taurus, and he agreed. But I only had two forms of transportation. 1. My bike, which he was a bit small for, and two, my shadow-traveling. Which always made first timers sick. Fuck it. I'll just be more careful and slower than normal. I hopped onto my bike, threw my helmet on, and placed the kid behind me, putting a helmet on his head. "Hold onto my waist tightly, ok? And this thing can be a bit loud."

Once I parked, I made sure to step off, and leave my helmet hanging from one of the handlebars. He did the same, and I took his hand, then walked to the dorms. I stopped at the door, though, and crouched to the kids level. "Don't be scared. We're all training to be heroes here. No villains." About a few weeks ago, if I'd met him and told him that, it wouldn't be true because of my boyfriend. "Your in good hands. Until we find your parents, that is." "Um, my mommy and daddy are dead." I blinked at the sudden comment. "Oh. I didn't mean to bring it up. Do you have, like, a grandparents you can-" "No. They don't care about me." As if being held captive by a villain wasn't enough. I thought before doing the thing I absolutely hated, which was pulling him into a hug. But it didn't bother me too much. When I pulled away, I softly cupped his cheek. "You ready, little dude?" When he nodded, I stood, and opened the door, still holding his hand. "Now, before you all get all excited and loud, I have something to tell you." "Babe!" Connor came over to me, and I gave him a one-armed hug, not even caring that he kissed the top of my head. Then he noticed the kid. "Who's your little friend here?" I crouched next to the kid again. "Do you want to introduce yourself, or do you want me to do it?" I wanted him to feel comfortable with us. I wanted to give him all the happiness the world had to offer. "You do it. I'm too nervous." I gave his little hand a supportive, gentle squeeze. "Everyone, this is Willaim. We saved him from a villain, and he's a bit scared right now, so try not to overwhelm him." "Hey, Willaim, its nice to meet you. I'm Connor, Shelby's girlfriend." "Connor, honey, I don't think he's old enough to understand the concept of girlfriends and boyfriends." "I'm four years old." "Ah, I apologize to his highness, then." Connor did a playful bow, and Willaim smiled a little, but I knew he was still nervous and shy. So, I made sure to stay with him as our classmates introduced themselves, promising myself I'd protect him no matter what.
