"Something wrong?" I nearly panicked from hearing that voice. It was the last person I wanted to see right now. "No, I'm good. Just stepping out to enjoy the rain." I answered, not looking up, or moving from my position. Unfortunately, Connor leaned his lower back against the railing next to me, arms crossed, head down. "We both know that's not true." I blinked and almost did a double-take. Connor's behavior had been weird ever since I'd come back from that weird memory-place caused by the villains power. It kind of made me worry. I sighed, but otherwise, didn't let him in. That's what I had tought myself, growing up. Don't let others in, you'll only make them worry. Don't listen to anyone, they don't know anything more about you than you do. Fight for what you believe in. Try your best. "Are you...gonna tell me?" I looked in the opposite direction of him, watching the rain as it hit the ground, before looking up at the sky. I climbed over the railing, and out into the rain, taking a deep breath with my eyes closed. I had to make sure no one knew about my childhood, my mom, my dad-all of it. They couldn't know. They'd think I was insane. They'd worry too much. I'd only be adding the burden of making sure I was ok on their shoulders. "You like the rain?" He asked instead, changing the subject. I smiled a little. "I love it." I opened my eyes, only to find that he had turned around, with his elbows leaning against the railing as he stared at me. "What?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. He shook his head. "Nothing. Nothing at all."
