Chapter 27: Second Sky Flame

I can only look at Yasaka as a burst of orange flame appears around her. Yasak awakens her flame, and it is a Sky Flame.

"What is the meaning of this?!"

One of the Karasu Tengu grabs my clothes and looks me right in the eyes. I can see hatred in his eyes, and I know that if I say something he does not like, he will attack.

"Peace. She is okay. She has awakened the power of the Sky."

"What?"

I raise my left hand and create an orange flame.

"This is the power of the Dying Will Flame. The power that lets us fight against the vampire, and currently, she awakens that power."

"He is right, Kiryuu."

The two of us look at Yasaka, who manages to put away her flame.

"I am doing fine. The flame did not hurt me. It even makes me feel great and stronger."

"Of course, it is. Sky Flame power is called Harmonization. It lets your body in perfect harmony. That means any ill, poison and any other negative effects are gone, getting purged by the flame. Not only that, the flame also ensures your body is always in perfect condition as long as the flame is not depleted from your body."

I can see Yasaka controlling the flame and changing its shape into snakes, dragons, and even foxes. I envy her for having that perfect control over her new power. Even I need to train my flame when I receive Byakuran's template.

"I see. I can feel my body get better. It can even heal something that I did not notice even with Senjutsu."

She smiles at me and says,

"This is a great gift, Vale. Thank you. It is truly the right choice to be your ally."

I only smile and say.

"Of course."

I cannot tell her that it was not something that I did for her. However, I will take the misunderstanding to my advantage as I can see the Karasu Tengu, Kiryuu, look at me in a new light. He rubs the back of his neck and says.

"Next time, please tell us about it, Lord Millefiore. We did not like surprises."

I nod at his words and say.

"I shall remember it. Shall we?"

I take her and the others back to the mansion. While walking there, the people of Vindice greet me with a large smile on their faces. They even gave me a gift. Most of them are wine and bread, which I cannot wait to taste.

"Your people love you, Vale."

I nod my head and say.

"They do, and I am glad that they love me."

"I can feel it, you know?"

"Hmmm? I beg your pardon?"

"As a Senjutsu user, I can feel people's feelings. That is why there is a saying that Senjutsu users are people that you cannot lie to."

"And what do you feel about them, Yasaka?"

"I can feel their gratitude to you and their undying loyalty to you. It is something that I never thought to see in my life. I know what loyalty feels like, but now I know what undying loyalty feels like. It is like seeing a massive impregnable wall ready to ensure their guiding light is never extinguished. Even if they get destroyed, they will make sure their light will survive and continue to live on. What a fascinating sight."

I can only look at her with a smile because I do not have anything to say about her words. We continue to walk through the town and arrive in front of my mansion in the middle of the town. I look at her and say.

"Welcome to Vindicare, my house. Let's go to my office so I can explain what kind of power you just awakened, Yasaka."

"Of course~ I want to learn about my new power."

Byakuran, Aria, Reborn, and Yasaka follow me to my office. I take a seat and say.

"Do you have any questions you want to ask, or do you want me to explain it first?"

"Please explain it first."

I nod and say.

"Sky Flame is a unique flame that only a handful of people can awaken from within them. The Dying Will Flame, or what others call the Rainbow Flame, is power within all living beings. They symbolize their soul. There are Sky, Storm, Rain, Sun, Lightning, Cloud and Mist. What you awaken is the Sky, the most important flame out of them all. The sky's the home of all elements. Without the sky, the other element will go around lifelessly, without any goal. We are the pillar of all elements who did not have anything left in their lives. As a Sky, you can harmonize and create a bond with your people. However, there is one bond that is the most important out of them all. It is a bond between you and your guardians. What are guardians? They are the people you trust the most and the last line of defense against anyone who wants to kill you. They are the wall that protects you as you are their guiding light who will guide them to success and a good life."

"I see. That is a heavy burden you just give me, Vale."

"Yeah. However, Sky Flame also gives you a great power alongside that burden. Sky Flame is a mysterious flame that many do not know their true power. However, we know a few of its power. The first one is the power of Harmonization. Harmony represents a state without contradiction or flaws in which the balance of the whole is maintained. What does that mean? That means Sky Flame can take others' attacks and make them yours."

"What?"

"Not all of them, of course. It is the only attack that manages to get into your body. Harmonization will make that foreign attack into yours. For example, "If you manage to absorb some energy from your opponent, Sky Flame will take that energy and let you have it as a second energy or even a new type of energy."

I can see Yasaka look at me in shock. Yeah. Sky Flame is a great power to have. Sadly, I do not have the power to absorb other energy into my body so I can harmonize it. However, I know that Youkai has that kind of power or spell.

Even if I have that kind of power, I will not use it against the vampires. I don't want their vile energy in my body or, worse, my soul.

"And that is the first power. The second one is Petrification. Sky Flame can petrify anything it touches. With enough power and control, you can turn anyone into stone. It is not an absolute power as a powerful being can resist the effect, but it can slow them down."

Yasaka nods her head and says.

"I can think of a few ways this power can bring victory in battle."

"Yup. Lastly, Sky Flame also can amplify energy. Accelerating the sky flame will let you amplify any energy. Think of it as a booster for your attack if you have great control. If you manage to turn your flame into a 'Hard' version of it, you will get even greater firepower."

I get up from my chair and smile.

"How about this? Let's have a training season. At the moment, we have a great teacher nearby."

"Hmmm? Who is it?"

I look at the toddler, who gives me a smirk on his face, while Yasaka looks at me in confusion.

"Eh? Vale? You want this toddler to teach us?"

"Don't let his appearance fool you, Yasaka. This toddler is the greatest hitman in the world."

I turn to Reborn and say.

"What do you say, Reborn? Can you teach us one or two things about the Dying Will Flame?"
