A Real Friend

Three days had passed since the incident. Three days since she last spoke to anyone who wasn't from the station. Her mind was clouded since there had been no news about the scientist. Her apartment had been sealed off for thorough investigation, but Elizabeth did not have the time to go there. Instead, with a grim look, she walked to her apartment's door and inserted her key into the keyhole, but the door gently slid open without her needing to turn the key.

She immediately turned vigilant and reached for the gun, sitting in the holster around her waist. Then, with quiet footsteps, she slowly walked into the apartment. All the lights were turned on, and two people sat on the couch, staring at each other with dislike and discomfort.

"Layla?" Elizabeth called, "Jayce? What are you both doing in my house?" She asked when she saw the people's faces, she breathed a sigh of relief and removed her hand from the holster.
