Elizabeth leaned on the door and stared absentmindedly at the phone in one hand. She wasn't one to leave a favour unpaid.

She bit her already swollen lips, with a deep breath, she quickly dialled his number without an ounce of hesitance.

"Mr Noel." She gently called but the person on the other end of the call remained silent, a knock on the door soon disrupted this silence.

"Caleb, go away already." She groaned and pulled the door open in annoyance. Elizabeth's heart skipped a beat as she swung the door wide open, expecting to see a familiar face but not quite prepared for the sight of Mr. Noel standing there, his expression unreadable in the dim light of the hallway.

"Noel?" Her voice wavered slightly, caught off guard by his unexpected presence.

"Oh, Hello. I decided not to say anything on the phone since you'd see me either way." A smirk stretched out on his lips.
