I told Carrigan to wait a few moments while I went into my room to grab a few things. Nico was the only other person who’s ever heard the entire story. He was the only person I felt who understood my pain and suffering.

 

If I wanted something to happen with Carrigan, then I had to start telling her more of the story. She was not obligated to tell me how she ended up in South Carolina, but I wanted her to know my past and my sister’s.

It’s where all my favorite memories of my sister go, except for the few pictures I have framed. One sat in the second bedroom on my desk, and one sat on my desk in the office. Having Kit with me when I worked and needed her presence was essential.
