as with all precious stones they need pressure and time exerted to reveal their beauty and in the case of simon that's how his life was.
his childhood began as a deep, dark and lonely existence.
he grew to be the man he is today.
on every level he looked successful.
but that didn't come without failure.
to the world he had everything.
but in reality everything was now broken.
amy sat akwardly with her large blooming bump.
now in her 8th month of pregnancy and her husband was in Hospital.
he had to get a transplant or his life would come to an end.
so like a vulture she awaited the news of someone's death in order for him to continue life.
but another complication was if the person was a donor, did their blood match and will his body accept the donation graciously?
she wept bitterly for it seemed she was destined to be alone.
after all the trials they had been through,he had made it and became a diamond in the rough.
he conquered his fears, depression and became a better man.
someone to rely on,a gentle and excellent husband.
but it seemed it wasn't to continue.
he had completed his purpose.
as the night drew to its end,he was struggling the pain so intense that the morphine at it full strength had no effect.
she loved him so much,so much more than she ever imagined.
even her love for Graham paled in comparison.
he gripped her hand and spoke words of sorrow for her heart.
"please....please amy....I want to go...let me be.....I can't do this.....you know how I love you.....but of I die please dont bring me back.....it hurts"
she turned to him looking at his state and felt a deep longing for him to return to her but it was not to be.
coming into her 9th month he barely woke up anymore.
the had scheduled an operation for him as they had found a donor.
the sucess rate of the operation was very low 25% chance of survival.
but amy made the decision to try,he couldn't live in this pain.
the damage done during this time to the rest of his body had lowered the acceptance rate of the organ.
as the evening set in they prepared for the operation.
simon woke .
they had increased the morphine.
he was alert for a while.
he spoke in a strained voice.
"amy my darling.....you have suffered with me....and I love you so much....but you have to let go now baby.....look after the babies....I left you a letter....I cant talk now.....please hold me.....after this operation I can't try anymore..
please don't be sad"
she held him like he'd disappear if she let go.
she cried in his chest knowing she may never see him again.
she spoke to him in his ear.
as he held her as tight as he could.
