Unexpected help

"If I managed to kill this piece of arrogant shit, you should realise what is coming for you!"

No matter how tired and broken I am right now, I simply can't let those guys see it! While I'm confident that even in this state I would be able to easily defeat them, I don't want to risk it. 

With Eve being in a rather stable state, I need to make sure nothing wrong will happen to her. With this as my current priority, I can't help but want to just make them run away and leave us alone. As long as they won't see us, I will be able to bring Eve back to Pengu's lair, so that we can recuperate our wounds there!

"I will fucking kill you!"

While one of those disciples or juniors of this dead expert raged and jumped at me, I can see the other one backing out with fear ingrained on his face. Guess that works for me. While I would love to get rid of both of them, there is no way that I will be able to give chase after him now. I guess that's what is called being lucky in one's misfortune! 

As one of those small fries is rushing at me, the distance between us is more than enough to let me gather all my strenght to stand up, wait for a moment for him to catch up and use my fatal strike. 

With an expression of total disbelief, the head of one of the weak cultivators falls down to the ground, as his body keep running for a few more meters before tripping on the ground and laying flat on the ground motionlessly. 

"Blop!"

"Killed a mortal enlightenment cultivator."

"Host obtained 1500 experience points!"

Woah! I guess they were his disciples in the end. That also explains why they were in this area in the first place. While our presence here is justified by our sect owning this piece of training grounds, they were simply invading it probably due to convenience of reaching it! This can also be a clue as to which sect do they belong too! If we won't chance upon them again, I guess I can expect some more troubles to come to the tournament!

Even if there are no threats in the area for now, I can't relax yet. With Eve unconscious, I can't detect the presence of various predators that might be surrounding us in this very moment. I guess I really need to make a run for Pengu's liar right now!

"Hey, can you wake up?"

Patting Eve's shoulder lightly, I check if I can get through her exhaustion to her. Sadly, she doesn't respond at all. I guess I have no other choice then.

Greeting my teeth, I grab her in the princess hold, lift myself from the kneeling position and stabilise myself before moving my legs forward. While every step that I take results in another bout of pain, I need to endure this hardship to make sure nothing will happen to us!

While it's tortuous, every single meter that I leave behind me leads to a bit faster movement speed. I guess that I will need to rely on the momentum to carry me!

As time goes by, I can feel my energy slowly returning to me while the pain lessens gradually as well. While I would love to drive my cultivation to alleviate some of my exhaustion, with the pitiful amount of mana that I currently have, there is no way I will be able to create a stable flow. Instead of risking it, I just keep pushing forward with only the urge to reach safety in my mind!

When I finish about a third of the distance separating us from the Pengu's liar, a small figure suddenly appears right in front of me! Almost dropping my beloved to the ground to fight with a potential aggressor, I managed to hold myself just in time. 

Who could've known that this small friend of mine would come all the way here! But wait, why did it do so?

Unable to react to its speed, I see the world turning around at insane speed in front of my eyes, before everything turns hazy! Wait, what the hell is going on?

Even turning my head down is somehow a hard task for me! Not going to give up, I finally manage to take a glance at what is under me, only to see the tips of Pengu's fins being the only stable thing in a dizzy world around! 

Wait, is he carrying us both while running? What the hell is going on?

In just a few minutes during which I can't take any action and I'm forced to just accept this ridiculous reality we actually manage to reach the Pengu's family location! What is wrong with this word? 

Eh, I think I should stop complaining. In the end, no matter how stupid it is, Pengu still saved me a lot of trouble!

When my legs finally touch the stable ground, I make sure to lay Eve down gently, before turning around. Just as I thought, Pengu is staying there with a satisfied expression on his beak!

Ok, no matter how fucked up this situation is, there are some proper actions that I should take right now!

"Thank you for your help just now. As soon as I recover, I will make sure to help you with your previous request!"

Lowering my head as far as I can without falling down due to my tiredness, I thank this little fluffy animal. Who could've thought that this Tyrannical Poetic Penguin would save my life just like that?!
