Our Journey Together (Vietnam - Looping Starts 02)

Part of being a backpacker who are currently doing the loops in the Northern Vietnam is to wake up early. Because the sun is scorching hot and it's better to be up and start the journey and have some rest along the way when it's too hot to drive.

They woke up with that awkward feeling that morning. Shin was not talking nor looking at Jungye. Jungye just looked at her and never spoke a thing either. They both took shower after one another and then Jungye went out to take all of their clothes from the hangers.

Jungye:"glad our clothes are not that soaked anymore. Seems like the clothes are dried up as well."

Shin was still shy about what happened last night and just smiled and nodded at him. They took some of their clothes and wore them immediately. They both packed all their clothes to their bags and checked the hotel room to check if they left something or not. Then they locked the door and surrendered the key to the receptions desk.

They took few days stay around looping before they reached Sa Pa in Lao Cai Province. The place is so high that the motorcycle was having a hard time to take them both together with their bags. A lot of times, Lee Shin needed to alight the motorcycle to ease some weight and let Jungye drive up and she needs to walk to wherever he stops.

Shin: " I should have known! We should have taken a stronger CC of motorcycle so I don't have to walk like this!!!!" She was complaining and raising her voice. She is exhausted because she needs to walk that way that is relatively high. Even just 10 to 20 meters of walk is already exhausting because of the steepness of road.

Jungye:" you can make it! I don't think you can handle driving on this road situation so we don't have choice but to let you walk" he was consoling her and boosting her mood. "come here, I will give you kiss to give you energy." he smiled.

Shin smiled instantly and went near Jungye and received his sweet kiss. "That's ok, I will walk a lot from now on if you will give me kisses along the way" she playfully replied like a child given candy for the first time.

Along the way, they encountered extreme rain and drops of temperature. Its getting colder as they go way up higher. Sa Pa sometimes experience snow during winter times. The drive took them longer than the usual velocity of their driving. Jungye keep on cursing and stopping along the way. There's a low to almost zero visibility which they have to choice but to stop. He is also starting to feel so cold because the clothes they are wearing is not thick enough to keep their bodies warm.

Shin was shivering too because of the low temperature and also they are again wet because of the rain.

Few hours later, before sunset, they finally reached the Sa Pa town and went to find a nice warm hotel to stay. It was crowded that day so they had a hard time finding a place to stay. They both have no choice but to find a middle range hotel than the usual cheap or budget hotels they usually stay in.

They rested in their hotel room for almost an hour and then took their hot showers individually. Then wandered off walking around the town to look for a place to eat dinner.

Jungye:"Is there a festival today? A lot of people seems arrived today."

Shin: " I don't know. Probably but glad we managed to find a place to stay for the night"

Jungye: " We can stay here for few days. It's actually a nice place to rest for few days and let the motorcycle be fixed for changed oil and checkups too"

Shin:" I was thinking the same thing because I like this place. Despite the crowd, it gives off a chill and peaceful vibe."

Jungye:" Chill huh? hahaha because it's really cold in here now.. Do you like cold weather?"

Shin:" I do love cold weather...Asia as you know, we are usually hot to humid temperature"

They went to an Italian restaurant and ordered pizza and pasta which they both shared. After having dinner they went straight to their hotel room walking hand in hand.

That night Jungye can't sleep well, he is starting to feel something bad. That night because of exhaustion from driving and being soaked from rain water for few days of driving, he caught a fever.

Lee Shin felt that there's something wrong with his temperature. He was hugging her from behind and she thought he was a little hotter compared to normal body temperature. Then she checked Jungye's forehead. He was sweating and slightly flushed, his cheeks are slightly red.

Shin:" you're not feeling well?"

Jungye just "mmm" without opening his eyes.

Shin:" it's late at night. I will go out and buy medicine early morning tomorrow and also breakfast."

Shin took care of Jungye that night. Sometimes he is shivering and Shin can only hug him and give him her warmth to make sure he can sleep well. She finally fell asleep once Jungye was soundly sleeping.
