It's just not practical

What Ringo did to Raiga will forever be etched into my mind. That poor poor guy. Even with an artifact that let him cast Lighting Style Justu without any seals he was outclassed.

She would dodge out of the way with an annoyed look on her face. Or she would disperse his lighting with her methods. There was not a thing that he could do that would shock her.

He would swing his swords with everything he had trying to impale her but she just weaved out of the way or swatted his attack out of the way.

Then she started beating him. It was not a pretty sight. She could have put him out of his misery with a simple Kunai to the throat or chopping off his head but this was personal.

She used her relatively small fists and beat him like she was suddenly Rock Lee. A punch to the face knocking teeth out, A kick to his stomach to swing him into the ground. She put the whole works on him

The fucked up thing was she could have taken the Kiba blades out of his hands at any point but she left them there. She allowed him the advantage of a legendary blade and she still wiped the floor with him.

I found a brand new appreciation for that woman.

While Ringo was teaching her lesson I looked over the loot we got. The stooges dropped some bladed claws that looked stupid and they gave out a skill book for their dumb move.

When I saw the thing I kind of just looked at it for a good long moment. It was only Raiga's screams of pain that knocked me out of my stupor.

I wonder if I gave the Skill book to Ringo would she try to purge the knowledge of the skill with blunt force trauma? I was not going to learn the skill even if I usually advocated for any and all power.

It just seemed like I would never end up using something like this. Especially since you needed several people to pull it off.

I should be able to sell it on the trade network. Thank god for the small mercies.

Ranmaru dropped a large amount of money again but the kicker was I got a skill book for one of his Eye's abilities. Now that could mean anything from the bullshit Genjustu lock or something dumb like hearing with my eyes.

It was a gamble but I just so happened to have good luck on my side.

With my level up from the small fry, I was able to get the points I needed to push my LUK to 51.

[Hot Streak {MAX}]

You're on a roll son you better keep going who knows when lady luck will be on your side again. Better dump all that cash on black. What? Cut your luck while you are still up? What are you a communist? Get in there and make some money kid!

When this skill is activated your LUK Stat is doubled for five minutes.

In exchange, your LUK Stat will be nulled for a day.

[]

The skill would be broken when my LUK reached a higher state but the drawback was equally bad. Nulling my LUK score would mean I would live life Kamijou Touma and that guy stumbles on world ending plots constantly.

So was the price I paid worth the pain that followed? Maybe, all I know is that I wanted to be in a safe place before I used it. I had nearly fifty points of LUK and we still ran into Kakuzu. I did not want to know what horrors I would summon with zero LUK.

Finally, the sound of flesh being struck and the screams of mercy faded out. I looked over at Ringo who was standing over Raiga's still bloodied frame and looked away.

Judging from the frown on her face she was still not satisfied with the fight she just went through. Then again Raiga would never be able to show her a satisfying fight.

I looked over at the loot we got from Raiga and the experience Ringo got for the kills. She was able to level up once which was a surprise from the ease in which she fought.

Other than the surprising amount of experience I was not seeing any loot from Raiga but Ringo was still holding onto the Kiba blades. Maybe all the other loot got cut out for taking the Kiba blades.

That was fine as we were here just for those things.

"Fucking punk begging for mercy as if that would work. I ain't a pansy ass bitch who cries over killing and the loser meant nothing to me." Ringo spat out as she glared at the corpse at her feet.

I looked over at the dull glassy eyes of the child with a complex look. The kid would have led to a near impossible fight if he supported Raiga but seeing a dead child was disturbing. I could not even rationalize this away from him being a child soldier.

From what I knew Ranmaru hated violence and wanted to live a life away from all this killing. He would never be able to get that which was sad.

On the other hand my greedy instricts were begging me to pluck out the eyeballs of the kid in front of me. I may have a skill book that would give me one of his eye abilities but his Dojustu was just sitting there.

It was not like he was going to use them.

Don't get me wrong I had no plans on plucking out my own eyeballs and replacing them with his but that had to have a use. Either from research on equipping a minion with powerful eyes.

"Is it wrong that I want to take out his eyes?" I asked Ringo who gave me a flat look in return. I winced and prepared to back off but she interrupted me.

"The fuck you mean wrong? Kid's dead he ain't going to use um. Would be a fucking waste to leave bullshit rotting in the groud when you can use it." Ringo spoke out slowly as if she was talking to a particularly slow person.

I blinked at her response but accepted it after a moment. Why would I even bother asking her a moral question? She killed the kid without a second of hesitation and she beat the life out of a man she once knew.

It did not sound like they had a good relationship but she really put Raiga through the ringer for just being a punk who had her blades.

I kind of forgot because Ringo treated me so well but she was a ninja who lived and thrived in the bloody mist. She killed someone on her graduation day and she struggled to the very peak of the village. The number of bodies in her wake are probably countless.

The way she plays around with prey also is rather disturbing now that I think about it.

I looked over at her for a moment. Did this new found character dissection change my opinion of her? Not really…She can be downright monstrous under the right circumstances but she treated me far too well for me to care about that.

She might be cruel but this was a world of blood and death. One needs the strength to cull thousands if you want to protect what is dear to you.

Before I could say anything else she sealed the kid into a scroll and passed me it. I fumbled with it for a moment as I was not prepared to pick it up.

She then looked over at her blades with a frown on her face.

"Don't worry babies the bitch won't touch you again I promise." She let out as she took out a cloth and started cleaning the blades.

Again I raised an eyebrow at her actions but she could do what she wanted. I did take a look at the Kiba blades.

For someone shitting on the might of a proper English Broadsword her own blades were stupid looking. Closer to a Tai Chi blade with hooks on it to break swords.

That last bit made slashing harder as the hook would interrupt the flow and it also fucked with stabbing as it stopped the blade from going deeper.

The only positive thing I could note about them was their ability to wield lightning but someone who completely mastered the release could pull something similar. It was also supposed to be able to cut anything but I kind of doubt that.

I should not have expected a practical blade from an anime world but this was really disappointing. Even the executioner's blade was better than this and that thing was a glorified club.

Then again the Kiba blades are not the most offensive member of the seven swords. That glory belonged to the Shibuki as that thing was a stick with duck taped exploding tags.

At least the Kiba blades can actually be categorized as a sword. The Nuibari was okay as it was just a giant needle and it could at least stab things properly. With the odd shapes of these things, I was surprised they were called the seven swordsmen.

The Kabutowari was a fucking axe and hammer pairing. Then we had the shark monster pretending to be a blade Samehada.

Why was I taking swordsmanship advice from someone who hung around in that group? Cause she actually knew how to use a Katana even if she insisted on using an impractical blade.

Fuck it, we ball.

Ringo finally finished her strange cleaning ritual. I wonder if she did this often or if she just really wanted to wipe Raiga's aura off of her blades.

"You think we are good for some more dungeon raiding? Or should we head back to the compound?" I asked as I looked up at the sun.

We spent more time than expected here but we did not get a lot done. Most of our travel was running towards places. Fuck, Ringo was the one who killed shit here leaving me with only a single level up from the chumps I killed.

The loot might have been great here but I did not really hunt anything myself. I could tell that Ringo felt the same way as she had a conflicted look on her face.

She looked like she wanted to call it quits for the day but she knew I did not get much here so she was hesitant. I let out a sigh and gave her an out.

"We can always come back to this later for training." I shot out to get her to think properly. She looked at me again with an apologetic look but I ignored it.

I broke the barrier around us and we ended up back in the Port with not a soul knowing what happened.

The threats in that dungeon were pretty fucking high so I was tempted to hold out on it for easier grinding. That world had all the threats of this one so there was not much of a point going there unless I wanted to get prepared for the future.

Fucking Kakuzu and his bullshit how the fuck did he find us? Wait a moment how the fuck did he see us? My coat should have taken care of that. He should have recognized us as people but ignored us.

Did my Coat lessen its effects on high tier enemies or was it because we walked right into his eye sight? Wait, he fucked with us not because of me but because of Ringo!? He ignored me for the most part and treated me as a non-factor.

Fuck I made shit harder on myself by bringing her.

Lessons for later.

At least I got some good loot. With the money I got, I can get started on trading on the network. Then I can start pushing supplies to the Rebellion increasing my importance. Even if I already was pretty important to them.
