Chapter Eight

I don't understand. Everything was going to plan. I was going to get out of here. There's no way that I'm going to let that trashy bastard win, not this time. I gather up all my strength and start to pull myself up the rope. After reaching a certain point there's a nearby windowsill and I swing my way to it. " Nyla just come back into the room" Daku yells. I reach the sill and give him the finger. After that I slowly make my way to the balcony. He lets go of the rope and it seems like he ran out of the room. I quickly retreat and hop back onto the rope. By the time they reached the balcony, they thought I was going to get on. I was already on the ground. They looked around but I had already started to run. "Nyla!" Travis yells out. I turn around. "Get out the street!". By the time I turned around it was too late the car had already hit me. Everything was dark. "No I'm leaving" I whisper. I slowly get up. All I hear is gasps. It's hard to see but I keep going. I took another step and then collapsed. I feel tears roll down my face. And then I feel nothing. I see nothing. I hope I'm dead. Then I won't have to worry about anything.

I woke up in the hospital. "Ma`am good thing you woke up. You didn't get hit that bad but there were some other wounds that we had to take care of" the nurse tells me. "Is there anybody else here?" I ask. "Well the people that brought you here went to the station. We had to make sure nothing that wasn't supposed to happen, happened" She tells me. "When can I leave?" She turns her head to the clock and stares at it for a few. "Well you can actually go now. And hurry, those people paid me to make you stay where you are. I needed the money so I took it but if I walk out this room and go to the bathroom make your escape" She says as she winks at me. She then walks out of the room. I get my stuff and walk out two minutes after her.

I walk down the sidewalk and go to a cafe near the hospital. I watch closely at the hospital. "What are you looking for?" Someone said from behind me. I quickly turn around. You have to be kidding me. It's Travis. "Leave me alone" I whisper. "Oh I'm not here to bother you, and as a matter of fact I actually want to help you" he says. But I don't fall for one word because he is the same reason I'm in this mess. I don't need your help, leave me alone, No if you want to help me so badly go pay for that hospital bill, That is how you can help and oh yeah, Leave me alone!" I told him. I then walked out knowing he couldn't do anything since we were in public.

I ended up wandering around and somehow ended back up at my job. I push my hair behind my ear and stare up at the building. "Crazy how you used to work here huh?". I look up to the person standing next to me and it is Lily. "Well now that you left I'm finally getting married to my sweet cakes, Look at how big this rock is. Isn't it massive?". She asks me. "Congrats, And yes that's a very nice ring" My eyes start to tear up. I wipe them. "But didnt i just leave yesterday?" I ask. Lily looks at me and looks shocked. "No, it's been a whole week, have you been in a coma or something?" She says jokingly. And I guess by my facial expression she sees it as not a joke. "Wait, were you actually in a coma?" She asks. I shrug my shoulders. "I only remember getting hit by a car but everything after that was a blur,I just woke up today so i don't really know" I tell her. Her mouth is wide open. "Wait, you got hit by a car! What happened to you after you got into that guy's car? Who even was that guy, did you even know him?" She asks question after question. "I didn't know the guy but I was just trying to get away from most of the mess I was going through. I know it wasn't the best idea of mine but it was supposed to help me out but it didn't, not at all" I tell her. She looks around and then invites me up to "her office". At this point i feel broken, I worked my butt off to try to get where she's at but instead i get fired and she gets my spot. It's only been a week and she is married to the guy that wanted me so bad when she was with him.Life is just ridiculous. And it looks like it is about to take a big toll on me. I accept the invite and by the looks on her face she looks shocked.

We make our way up the stairs and from the corner of my eye I see the boss talking to someone. I then look at Lily and she smiles at me. It's Daku!Daku is sitting there talking to my boss and my eyes widen. I try to turn around but she screams "I got her". My boss and Daku run out of the office to where me and Lily are. "Why Lily? Why are you doing this to me? What have I ever done to you that was so bad that you took it this far?". She looks at me then rolls her eyes. "Enough with your chatting, As you know me and you were never friends and you should have known that from the day i acted like you pushed me but no instead you and your small brain thinks me and you are close. There was never a day in my life that I thought me and you were close but I guess me and you think differently. I mean its obvious one of us here is smart and the other one is rather dumb". I gasp in disbelief. The rage inside me is too much i cant hold it. Daku cuts in before I can even say anything " So you let me pay the hospital bills then you dip huh". Are you serious? The only reason I was in the hospital was because of the people that forced me into their home, not allowing me out of their home. " Are you serious! When will it stop. It hurts everything hurts and yet you bring more pain" I scream with tears rushing down my face. It's all crazy just the sight of his face can make me cry. Before I couldn't cry at all and now I cry at the smallest things. Christopher then walks up to me and wipes the tears away from my face, I push him away. "And you, You claim you like me then get married a week after i leave, Am i just a joke?Am i a game everyone is playing?. Please I beg all of you to turn it off, turn the game off let me be i just wanted to live a normal life like everyone around me but now i" I say then start to mumble. "I'm nowhere close to normal am i? Nothing is ever going to change so maybe I should just follow the script and let things play out slowly like it should" I start to mumble to myself. My sudden change of attitude scares Lily and she quickly moves away from me. I then sit on the floor and continue talking to myself. "Nyla, stop it, get up," Daku tells me. But everything that he says goes in one ear and out the other. I just wonder how it feels to watch a perfectly fine person slowly break apart.
